Nee-san 1 would fly like a bird through the air. He maintained an adequate height in the air as he scanned below from the village. The fact that he had a bird's eye view and was quite perceptive gave him the ability to ascertain the location of the village after a certain amount of time. If it wasn't in the area he'd find out soon enough and double back to Nee-san 2.
