It had been a while since Nikola's latest adventures. These had come in the form of a rather tedious and overextended series of missions he had been assigned by his sensei, Neo and her assistant, Ancha, to do in conjunction with his teammates, Suzuya and Kiyoshi. Since then, Nikola had once again gotten back to his usual daily routine of assisting his parents with their business ventures, accompanying them to various high society events and mingling with the other attendees of said events, and of course, his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research, both of the generic sort and also more specifically of the ninja arts variety, with the latter being focused especially on the study of ever more efficient means of commanding and directing the Aburame insects dwelling inside him as well as the study of how to improve this entomological arsenal for his benefit and for that of his Aburame clan in general
Hmm...what now?...another Aburame wants to have a face-off with me for some reason, eh?...How irksome, indeed...interfering with my research...oh well...Nikola thought silently as he stirred from beneath the veritable mountain of research notes that were current piled up high in his residence/research lab in the Aburame clan compound on this particular day. After managing to drag himself out, he rose to his feet and proceeded to ready himself in his usual work attire, this being specifically comprised of his standard researcher's outfit and with his various pieces of ninja gear equipped to various strategically chosen areas on his person along with his insect reserves confirmed properly. Then, after informing his family's support staff of his potential whereabouts and intended destinations for the day, he set out to meet this unfamiliar fellow Aburame who was apparently called Anzo at the Great Konoha Training Facility as per the message in the note he had received from the man. As he made his way into the agreed upon training room which was basically just a oversized forest area, he could just barely see what seemed like a spiky head of blond hair sinking into the earth, presumably through some jutsu or another.
Hmm...well, I suppose I will just wait here to see what happens next...no need to overexert myself from the outset, after all...Nikola thought silently as he simply stood there, apparently doing not much of anything just yet since he was still quite confused why anyone would want to challenge him of all people. That said, he still had his gear at the ready should he need it. Specifically, there was his leather armor consisting of a vest strapped to his torso, a pair of spaulders strapped to his shoulders, a pair arm guards strapped to his arms, faulds strapped to his waist, cuisse on his hips and thighs, and finally, a pair of shin guards on his shins as per usual, used to provide him with some modicum of protection. Besides this basic armor, he also had his baldric around his torso and this carried his pair of store-bought trench knives and 10 kunai, while the hip pouch affixed to his right hip carried two 15' Wire Reels, 3 smoke bombs, 3 flash bombs, 3 chili pepper bombs inside it.
Then, there was also a holster strapped to his right thigh which contained 10 shuriken and 30 Caltrops. Finally, there was his backpack which carried within it three pouches, the first of which carried 5 blood pills, the second of which contained 5 coagulation pills, and the third and last one which housed 20 military ration pills, and all of this gear was out of sight for the time being since he did not expect to need them and wanted to keep them hidden from overly curious onlookers and yet within reach should the situation end up forcing him to use them. Most importantly of all the tools in his on-hand collection, however, were, of course, his Aburame insects consisting of 800 kikaichu, 180 shokaichu, 20 bikochu, all of which were current on standby inside his body's hive space, along with his newest experimental insect, the kaikochu of which he had 200 nesting on standby in the large Aburame insect terrarium he had slung on his back, all these being ready to be deployed at a moment's notice.
Hmm...perhaps it would be wise to set up a sensory net as a precaution...Nikola thought silently and decided that he wanted to be prepared to at least try noticing anything coming at him or trying to blindside him. To that end, he activated his Sensing Technique which proceeded to then give him a 50 m diameter sensory net with him as its epicenter. With that, his first round preparations were complete and then he waited to see what would happen next in the present situation.

Base: None
Focused: Touch
Requirements: Sensory Skill
Description: The Sensing Technique is the basic method of Sensory that is automatically granted once the Sensory Skill is unlocked. Perception determines the potency of the user's ability, extending the range as listed above. The classic use of sensory is almost a passive ability, requiring only that the cost be paid to maintain awareness. There is also a focused variation through which the user can double the range by making physical contact with an object via the hands or fingers. Whichever object is touched is the medium for range extension, meaning that beyond the original range value, only things making contact with the medium can be detected. This medium is almost always the ground.
The medium doesn't need to be the ground, and while using the ability inside a building will transmit one's sensing across all walls, floors, ceilings, and the ground upon which the building stands, there are other structures which may not be tied to the ground. Using this inside a blimp or other aircraft, for example, will extend the user's range over the aircraft, up to the maximum range, which may well cover the entire aircraft. Given that an aircraft isn't making contact with anything, the user's sensory range will be limited to that aircraft.
The Sensing Technique allows the user to perceive any of the following about any target within range: total and current chakra level, elements, exact location, and whether or not they have a kkg. However, they can only know if the target has a KKG if the user has encountered that KKG's chakra in the past. The technique is also able to detect whether any of the targets are under the influence of Genjutsu, as well as if the user himself is under the influence of Genjutsu.
Drawbacks: Focusing the range forces one to remain in place. Anything not making contact with the medium cannot be sensed with the extended range; this won't help them if they're within the base range, however, as they can still be sensed as normal. The Sensing Technique is not a passive process and will require activation; if the cost is not being paid, the technique is not active. This technique is also required as a prerequisite for most Sensory-related techniques and abilities, excluding only a certain few. This cannot be used to ascertain stacked Genjutsu, only whichever Genjutsu the target/user is suffering from at that particular moment.
