Messy! Messy! Messy! How can someone from a noble clan be so inconsiderate?! Kitsuki asked herself as she bent down to pick up scattered pens and quills. She knew the answer to her own question. Sayuri had left the Mizukage Office a complete mess on purpose. She had done it precisely because it irritated Kit and threw her off balance. Kit's instinct to ensure that a room was orderly and clean was a product of her schooling at the WASP and no matter how hard she tried to suppress it, she often found herself giving in. It was no fun to have to clean up after a supposed Princess but if she didn't do it, Kit doubted anyone else would.
The office had been vacant for months in both sense of the word. Kit rarely used it and the other two were too busy doing heaven knows what. However, every now and again, she showed up to complete some paperwork. Once the mess had been cleared, she sat at the desk and began to work. It was typical Mizukage stuff and it wasn't Kit's cup of tea but alas this was what she signed up for when she overthrew the last Mizukage. The Triumverate had done a good enough job running the country that no one was currently complaining but Kit wondered how long the nation would go without a Mizukage. The position carried major weight and it might not be good for the village to be without one long term. As she contemplated the future of the nation's leadership, a member of ANBU burst into the door and stood at attention.
"Princess Kurahasa!"
"At ease soldier, what's the situation?"
They knew that she didn't like to be disturbed on the rare occasion that she was in the office so this was probably important.
"Princess Kurahasa....the disturbance we reported a week ago has become more severe. As per your order, we sent a Jounin Squad to investigate....they were all killed. The ANBU 414 Squad was then sent in as per protocol but....they were wiped out as well! The situation has gone critical and the Head of the 414 Division wants to raise the alert status of the city"
Kitsuki jumped out of her chair. The 414 Division consisted of some of the strongest shinobi within the Black Ops Division. If they had all been masscered then the situation was indeed grave. Whoever or whatever was responsible for this "disturbance" had to be dealt with. Kitsuki didn't want to cause a panic and so she instructed the messenger to hold off on raising the alert status. When he showed signs of distress, she followed with:
"I'll check it out myself."
She could see the reassurance in his eyes. Kit was the strongest shinobi in Kiri and one of the top fighters in the world. If she didn't come back, then forget raising the alert level for the entire city would need to be evacuated. Kit grabbed her cane which was propped up against the wall and left the office in a rush.
I won't let you destroy the peace that so many have died to protect!
