    Crafter Training #1 [P] Empty Crafter Training #1 [P]

Keita was at his fairly decent sized apartment that was given to him by the village when his materials and the large cement mixer was delivered. He was over the moon, and immediately moved it around the house towards a small studio type area he had set up. It was essentially just a room that he had cleared out and changed around the studs and bracers in the room so that it was much more open. He had a pile of wood set up and had already set up a small amount of tools. The first thing he did at the moment was to start mixing the cement. He grabbed the hose and some of the concrete mix so that he was ready when he actually started making things. He wanted to make sure that he was as efficient as possible, as that was how he always wanted to work. He threw some of the bags of cement in the mixer along with the water, and as soon as the ratio was correct, he cut off the water and turned on the machine so that it would mix while he prepared other things.

Keita had made some molds that he would put the cement in, and he went and grabbed the one meant for kunai, before walking back over. He then spent some time once the cement was fully mixed, to pour it out into the mold, putting the mold near a small heater to dry it out a bit, and then removing it, setting the newly created concrete kunai off on a small shelf so that it would dry and cure. After getting around 5 of them, he stopped before grabbing another mold.

Keita then walked back over to the cement mixer with another mold, and started pouring again. This was a pretty simple process, and so he continued pouring the cement in, hitting the mold onto the ground a bit to make sure there were no big air bubbles in them, before putting them near a heater. After waiting a bit, the concrete kunai could be pulled out of the mold and hold their shape, and could be put onto the shelf to finish curing. Keita put another five of these things on a shelf after a couple of minutes, and soon he was ready to perform the actual finishing touches on the other ones. This process took some time, but the process was a bit fun. Keita liked manual labor like this, and really liked working with his hands, so making these kunai was pretty fun. This was probably why Keita was so fast when making things, and this would also mean that he could pump out more and more things if he needed to. The process started with a grind stone, which would smooth out the edges of the kunai a bit. Keita worked on that as the first set of Kunai were finished. Soon, the first five were fairly smooth, and the next thing that he would do to finish them off was polish them.

Keita was getting into a rhythm, and soon he was done grinding down the previous five concrete kunai, and soon he was ready to pour out the next five kunai. As he was pouring them out and heating them, removing them from the molds, the previous five were done curing. This was definitely something that would become a sort of routine, if he wanted to make more than twenty five of these kunai for practice. He popped them out, and then started grinding the previous five kunai so that they were ready for the rest of the process. Right after, Keita walked over to a small metal trough filled with water, and grabbed a polishing stone. He grabbed the first five kunai he had poured and cured, before starting to polish them. The first polishing stone was a high grit one, as this would get rid of any of the large bits and pieces that were sticking out from the grind stone, and then he would change to progressively smaller and smaller grit sizes. Soon, the grit size was one of the smallest, but not the smallest he had, as the smallest he had was reserved for metal blades. The mirror like polish on the concrete kunais that he had started with was something that was pretty damned good, as it was almost like looking at polished marble.

Keita was not one to stop halfway, or when others might think that one was already finished. He had completed the first five kunai, and started to pour out another five of them, and soon there was another set of five sitting on a certain mantle drying and waiting for the next part of the procedure. Next, Keita wanted to check the sharpness of his concrete kunai, and so he grabbed a piece of paper and gently ran the kunai across it. The kunai sliced it, but not as cleanly as the sharpest metal. There was a limitation to the rock, and so there were only so many things that Keita could do to make rock sharp. People thought that metal was the sharpest thing, but there were two other substances that Keita knew could get far sharper, one was porcelain while the other was obsidian. Those two things were far too brittle to be particularly useful when making weapons such as kunai however. He thought they would be pretty good when used in some sort of explosive device as the shrapnel that came out, which would absolutely shred people if it hit them. Keita's mind stopped wandering off as he put the now polished kunai into a small box, and started to repeat this process on the others.

After a while, Keita had finished up wiping off the last bit of the polishing liquid off of the kunai and put them into a box. The box now held exactly twenty five of the things, and although they were pretty basic, they were strong and reliable, which was all that Keita was going for at the moment. Even though he was very much an amateur, he still put a lot of love and attention into his work. He wanted people to come to him when they wanted something, as he had the high quality products that people wanted, and he also wanted to make sure that everyone knew that he was a very solid craftsman that made little to no mistakes with what he made. as he was packing up everything, he made sure to place the kunai on some straw, as they were going to be a bit of a showpiece, as even though they were stronger than normal iron kunai, they still paled a bit in comparison to the steel kunai that the ninja could pick up once a month from the armory, so there was definitely more work to be had in this regard. He wondered if anyone would want to use them, and theorized that he could simply hand them out to people who want to train how to throw kunai, as they were still quite the same in terms of weight and aerodynamics as normal kunai. He then left the tools for now, thinking that he deserved a bit of a rest.
