Valen couldn't believe he had been so ignorant as to not be aware of an entire armory for shinobi. Of course being a fresh genin his access was limited but some things were certainly able to be requisitioned at his rank and that meant he might be able to get something that he could use. At that time he has been practicing with branches to try to find one that didn't shatter immediately upon impact was now wasted seeing as he could have simply come here at any time and potentially obtained a katana from the armory itself. Moving up to the counter, such a thing would have to exist to ensure shinobi of lower rank were not simply taking things higher ranked shinobi had access to, he would look up at the man behind the counter. He was an older man, probably not suitable for line duty any longer. However his capabilities could still be utilized in ensuring the armory stock was stored, restocked, and distributed properly. As well as properly oiled and maintained. He was taller than Valen, most men, and woman for that matter, were. With a grizzled look to his gray beard and hair. The man looked Valen up and down as if he were waiting for something and the fresh genin would look on the counter to find a neat ledger. The front page was a list of the armory rules. Who could and could not claim what and sure enough. He found he could indeed claim a katana. Looking up at the man as he pulled out his shinobi ID he would pass it over before speaking.
"Requisitioning a katana, a titanium headband, black cloth, 25 shuriken, and 25 kunai." He would say, opening the binder to find the required fill in for his name, shinobi ID number, what he was requisitioning, and the current date. The last column was listed as 'Attendants Signature'. Valen would fill in all of the information before passing it to the man who would look at the information, nod, and sign it. Then he would close the binder before speaking. "One moment." He would say as he turned and began to collect the items. Valen would wait silently as the man set the equipment on the counter. First the protector, which seemed to be under the counter. Valen would take it and tie it onto his forehead. Then the kunai and shuriken, Valen would take those and put those in his pouches. Finally he would set the katana on the counter and Valen would take it, drawing the blade out an inch to look at it and smile softly. It was a strange expression for him, as he did not utilize it often. Housing the blade he would tie it to his waist before looking up at the man and nod his thanks before leaving. All this time, and it had been so easy.
