I'm stealing this sword with upgrades as my A-Rank item from my 1k Renown reward.
Name: Kintsugi: Assassin's Blade/ Black Sun

Description: This trick Blade has two modes allowing the user to switch styles relatively freely. Switching between modes without either A Rank Intelligence or 3 threads of ownership of this blade takes an entire post where the user cannot use the weapon to attack or defend. If the wielder was not told by a previous wielder that it has multiple modes or hasn't seen them, it still requires A Rank intelligence to figure out that the blade can switch modes.
Kintsugi: Assassin's Blade Mode: This is the most basic version of this weapon. At a glance this is a basic Cleaver sword made of iron, save for its strangely intricate, bone handle. Though it is roughly the size of a full grown man at a little over two meters in length, it is surprisingly easy to handle. It requires B Rank Strength to wield one handed, but, due to it's amazing craftsmanship, it can be wielded by anyone with D-Rank or higher Strength with two hands. Carrying the Assassin's blade gives -1 tier in Coordination Regardless of the user's Strength.
For every post an attuned user uses the weapon in this mode they gain 1 charge, up to 30. These charges are used by Black Sun Mode.
C Grade Hardness, C Rank Craftsmanship
Kintsugi: Black Sun Mode: The real star of this item, this slightly dark, straight edge katana is made of a strange steel bone fusion achieved by a process inspired by fossilization. This blade unsheathes out of the Assassin's Blade if the wielder meets the requirements. As it is the core of the Assassin's Blade it runs the full length of the blade, and it can be forced out by breaking The Assassin's Blade. This blade was partially made from the shattered remains of a flute and is hollow. Using the finger holes on the handle and the motion from swinging, the wielder can create melodies with the blade that fulfill as if they were playing a flute with even slight motions. Conversely they can just blow in the hole a few inches down the blade's length.
This well crafted blade provides the user with ++ in Coordination for the purposes of using it as a weapon or playing it as an instrument. This bonus can be increased by 1+ by spending one of the blade's charges giving the wielder a full tier boost each post a charge is spent.
A Rank Intelligence to benefit from any of the item's properties (with stipulations)
B Rank Strength to use the Cleaver sword one handed.
Charges are not passed from wielder to wielder, and each wielder has their own pool.
All of these requirements are reduced by one rank for any ninja that has the Kenjutsu Spec.
The weapon cannot regain charges for the rest of the thread while the Assassin's blade is broken.

- Flavor:
In the middle of his first real fight Toshiyuki is pushed to his limit just defending himself as a Kumo-nin's pressing assault pushes him into a corner and causes him to leave his backpack unattended moments before it, and more importantly, his brother's flute are detonated in a massive explosion.- The Fight:
- "Hiro~." A very young boy with glistening red eyes and curly, brown hair would run up to a taller, but similar looking boy. He'd present an alabaster flute. "Hirohiko, I made this from naming catch thingie." With a beaming smile he'd lift the flute up to the older boy who'd receive it with a soft quiet smile.
"Huh. My adorable, little brother." The older boy would sigh at the boy half his height, "You can't make these kinds of things. If they catch you... You can't imagine what they do to you," He'd pause before patting his baby brother's head as tears being to form in his little eyes. "You know what? Let's just keep this our little secret. That might just be for the best, yeah?"
Rage would explode from Toshi in the form of bright blue chakra with black streaks that would coat his body in a thin veil. 'Toshi, bro. You gotta chill.' Faces would communicate to him through their bond. Sharp talons would extend from his fingertips and thick vertical slits would form in his eyes as heterochromatic irises would fade in around them. He would struggle to focus as his anger boiled over. He'd pull out his two trench knives out of instinct, ignoring the kunai he'd dropped as he formed the hand seals for flying earlier. If Andariel still approached he would back up still, now matching her speed, but leading her closer to the water's edge. His brain was hazy, but when it cleared up he'd make sure these two knew what they'd done. "You two are gonna pay for that."
Toshi would go on to later protect a Kiri merchant from a ninja assailant. As compensation the merchant found a craftsman to fix Toshi's most prized possession. Though they couldn't restore the flute, they did give it new life. Thus Black Sun was born.

Description: The user activates Black Sun Mode and spends two charges, but gains a +1 tier Intelligence boost instead of the normal Coordination boost. Instead of drawing Black Sun, the user slices through the Assassin's Blade destroying it, and hopefully surprising their opponent. Since the timing here is important, the wielder can use their Intelligence not their Coordination to contest the targets ability to perceive and react to the blade. To an unknowing target it looks as if the blade's momentum dies, and it appears that it is almost melting until black sun emerges.
Weaknesses: This jutsu can only be used on a target once.
