    Mission Name: Trash
    Mission Type: Undercover/Investigation
    Mission Rank: B
    Mission Goal: Help Saffron to obtain the ‘Lassiter’ sword and don’t get caught.
    Description: Mrs. Reynolds makes a reappearance! Turns out she got away before and completely unscathed, or she has an identical twin. She had approached the crew of the Serenity to help her hurt the Alliance by taking one of their prized weapons. You’ll get paid for acquiring it without bloodshed, but can she be trusted? Mal doesn’t care as long as he does the job and gets paid.
    MRS. REYNOLDS::

    Payment: 25,000 ryo
    Requirements: C-Class, Completed ‘War Stories’

    Tamwyn sighed audibly.

    Saffron was back, and this time she had managed to convince Mal to accept a job with her to steal a prized Alliance weapon. Some sword called the ‘Lassiter’. It was apparently some incredible new design. Tamwyn scoffed at the very idea, Damien, bless his businessman’s black soul, could probably make a better weapon by fucking accident than anything the alliance could cook up on their best days. Still, it would be a wonderful blow to their morale if they stole it. The problem was they had to steal it without killing anyone. Otherwise it was just a smash and grab. It would be far more demoralizing if it was stolen right out from under their collective noses. A thought that Malcolm was more than happy to imagine.

    Still, Tamwyn obviously didn’t trust Saffron for obvious reasons. She couldn’t be trusted, but luckily, Mal seemed to agree this time, thank fuck. So they had a plan to double cross the double crosser. Tamwyn and Yenn were that plan of course. The plan for the Lassiter was to slip it into the garbage which would cause it to, of course, be thrown out into the garbage yard outside the base. The Alliance had yet to set up a proper furnace situation to dispose of the trash. So it would sit there until some Alliance member stumbled upon it. Saffron was supposed to be there to collect it. What she wasn’t told was that Tamwyn and Yenn were going to be there too, and they would take it for the Serenity crew to use or sell while Saffron got the short end of the stick. So there he was, hiding in a treeline near the base's exit so that he could tail the Alliance goob tasked with throwing out the garbage for the night.

    Ah yes, garbage watching detail. Not her idea of a typical date night, but as long as she got to spend time with Tamwyn she didn’t much care what they were doing. For some unknown reason they were actually working with Saffron again, even though she had caused so much trouble for them before. Yenn was unhappy with it, but she could respect the idea that this time they wouldn’t let her get away with her double crossing ways. They were after a sword called the ‘Lassiter’ which was a stupid name for a weapon if she ever heard one. It was probably named after the pompous ass who had it commissioned. Yenn was having a few moral issues with being party to a double double cross. A triple cross? Even if it meant ensuring that Saffron wouldn’t get one up on the crew again. She just didn’t like the idea that throughout all of her missions she’d had to bend her morals and world views just to get paid.

    She was ecstatic that their part of the mission involved being in the trees. For now anyway. She had missed the forest so much and she’d spent entirely too much time in cities around large groups of people as of late. Crouched next to Tamwyn she would lace her fingers through his as she kept a lookout for their target, assuming he didn’t stop her. “This is nice, Tamwyn. Not the garbage watching, or the thieving. Just spending time with you alone.” She stayed touching him as long as he let her, until she saw an Alliance idiot carrying out the trash, oblivious to the ‘treasure’ it held. “This is us!” She exclaimed quietly as she waited for the man to finish dumping the garbage onto a large pile and round the corner again, creeping out of the treeline stealthily once he had.

    At Yenn’s words he would nod in agreement. “Anytime I can spend with you alone is a good time for me Yenn. I just hope all this business is done soon so we can go back to Kumogakure and have a date night or something.” He would say with a small smile at her. They spent a ton of time together now but it was almost always work related. That however wasn’t the only nature of their relationship. He cared about her, deeply, he was starting to realize that more and more and he wanted to show that to her. More and more lately they were ending up in dangerous situations that she needed to go through pain in. Killing people was hurting her, more than he’d anticipated it doing if he was being honest with himself and he didn’t want her to have to do it anymore if he could help it. There wasn’t any other reason she could be getting sick from it so much other than she just couldn’t cope with it. It bothered him and he wanted to take her out one night and just enjoy each other's company. Or perhaps they’d just order out, stay in and only be with each other for a few days. She didn’t like being around most people so that would probably be best. He would hold her hand back for as long as she did, enjoying the comfortable fit of them together.

    Eventually the trash man came out and hyucked a trash container into the area. It landed with a resounding clang and then the man simply turned and left, intent upon other duties. Yenn’s quiet exclamation would bring a smile to his lips and he would leave with her. As they approached the container it opened, and Saffron climbed out of it, carrying the sword. Tamwyn stepped to within sight and smiled at her. “My, looking dignified aren’t we? We’ll be taking that Saffron.” He would say, an eyebrow raised in obvious challenge. The red haired woman would look at both Yenn and Tamwyn for a moment before petulantly sticking the weapon in the ground and stepping away, crossing her arms in annoyance. “Fine, take it, just don’t knock me out again.” She would say as Tamwyn took the weapon, flipping it over in his hands a bit. It felt nice, the wrapped hilt of the weapon in his hand and he considered the blade in curiosity for a moment before nodding and motioning for them to go. Saffron would leave, deciding that she wasn’t getting paid and Tamwyn would make his way back to camp where he handed the Lassiter over to Mal. “One demoralizing tool at your disposal, mon capitan.” He would say with a bit of a joking accent to his tone. Afterwards he would move back to their bunk and curl up under the covers. If Yenn was there too his arm would be wrapped around her, pulling her close. Another day, another job.

    Seeing Saffron climb out of a pile of garbage was among the more amusing things Yenn had ever seen and she couldn’t help but smile at the sight. She let Tamwyn take the lead, since with the smell of rotting fruit thick in the air she wasn’t too keen on getting into a fight that would probably end in her vomiting. Again. At least Saffron had the good sense to not fight Tamwyn for the sword. And after putting it in the ground and leaving the area she would likely never be heard from again. Sometimes side characters just ended up that way. She saw the way Tamwyn handled the blade and got a curious look on her face as she tugged on his arm to go. “Getting ideas are we? Can we have those ideas away from the pile of garbage?” She was teasing of course, but not about the garbage part.

    Once they made it back to camp Tamwyn would hand over the Lassiter to Mal with an amusing accent. Yenn would laugh and wrap her arm around his waist, which was realistically the only part of him she could reach due to their significant height difference. She liked this joking side of him and the longer they had spent with the crew of the Serenity the more she had gotten to see it. Curling up in their bunk later with Tamwyn she would muse over the events of the day. “A date night? It would be nice to have some time off for once, so I could just spend it with you.” She jealously guarded the time she got to spend with him and looking forward to some time alone helped to give her hope of happier times with less stress and less killing.
