Mission Goal: Find proof that Mrs. Reynolds isn’t who she says she is and then rescue the Serenity crew.
Description: Captain Malcom Reynolds drank way too much at a party and came home with a surprise wife. The rest of the crew are suspicious of her intentions when their supplies and plans start being sabotaged. Discover the true identity of ‘Mrs. Reynolds’ and save the crew from sabotage.

Good lord Malcolm was stupid sometimes. Getting drunk at a party was one thing. Coming home ‘married’ was quite another. The crew was surprised and Malcolm got more than a little ‘ribbing’ over the entire matter. Still, the issue was that the girl was from a backwater town. Extremely pretty, but innocent and naive to the ways of the world. Although soon after the girl joined them strange things started going awry. Supplies seemed to have been sabotaged, expensive parts seemingly disappearing. A few plans go sideways as well and no one seemed to be able to tell what was going on. Tamwyn however had the ability of sensory, and as such could feel the presence of everyone if he memorized how their specific chakra signature felt. Everyone had chakra, even if it was just a little. Hell every living thing did, so the pale haired man began using the technique more often. What he had discovered was quite interesting.

It would appear their newly wed captain had let a thief aboard into camp as his wife. Not purposefully of course, but she was certainly playing him for a fool wasn’t she? Still, it was time to catch the cat in the act. So he told Yenn in private one day, and the two were hidden in shinobi style in the storage building of the camp. They were waiting for Mrs. Reynolds to happen along to steal more stuff so they could catch her in the act. The rest should be simplicity in itself afterwards.

Yenn was torn between feeling sorry for the new ‘Mrs. Reynolds’ and laughing at Mal over the ridiculousness of it. She felt sorry for Saffron because she appeared to be from a backwater town and was naive and not so much ‘worldly’. It had made her angry initially when Saffron had explained that she had been ‘chosen’ to marry Mal by the village elders. She hated the idea that this young woman was being forced into a life she didn’t choose herself. And of course that immediately put her side with Saffron and consequently she ignored the association between a new arrival and a series of unfortunate events that were affecting the Serenity crew. Missing supplies, damaged parts and plans gone awry. It told a sinister story and it wasn’t until Tamwyn told her of his suspicions in private that she even considered that Saffron might be behind it. She would have fought harder to preserve the idea that no one would lie about being mistreated, but she did trust Tamwyn implicitly and so she went with him to catch Mrs. Reynolds in the act.

Yenn was back to wearing her traditional black leather and so hiding in the shadows was a piece of cake, the crew had conveniently stored all of their gear in one storage building and she waited in behind a stack of crates with one eye watching for directions from Tamwyn. It didn’t take too much waiting before she was utterly disappointed that Tamwyn was right and a red haired woman snuck into the building with a knife in hand and started slitting open bags of foodstuffs. Assuming she wasn’t directed to stay put, Yenn made her way out from behind the crates to challenge the saboteur. “That’s quite enough Mrs. Reynolds. I think you better start talking.” Yenn had one hand raised ready to channel chakra to stun the woman if necessary.

When Yenn confronted the fiery haired woman Tamwyn would remain in the shadows, moving around to be in position to ambush the woman. This was a standard shinobi tactic and he didn’t expect Yenn to be caught unaware by his lack of confrontation with Mrs. Reynolds. As he repositioned himself the woman would smirk and introduce herself as Saffron, and that she was going to be robbing the crew blind before disappearing and never to be seen again. She made crass comments she probably thought were clever about poor Mal missing out on his ‘honeymoon’ and such. Tamwyn would roll his damn eyes at the innuendo and once he was in position would wait. Eventually Saffron would move to attack Yenn, and Tamwyn would move out. One might have wished him to stay hidden and see if Yenn could handle the fight. However that wasn’t how ambushes were supposed to work.

When he came out he caused Saffron to reposition, shifting her initial stance to include Tamwyn as well and she aimed a punch at him first. He caught it with an open palm and at the contact sent a blast of lightning chakra into her neural system. That jutsu really was turning out to be one of his favorites. Either way, with her senses fried into unusability for the moment Tamwyn would take the time to tie her up. When everyone awoke the next morning he would explain what happened and they agreed that when they moved camp, they would simply leave her behind, tied to a tree. Someone would come save her eventually. Maybe...potentially...

Tamwyn always had Yenn’s back. Or in this case technically her front. Either way she wasn’t worried when Saffron made an attack on her, Tamwyn was right there as usual to defend her. The little quips and innuendos that Saffron spouted weren’t entirely lost on Yenn this time, and she would just shake her head as Tamwyn shut down the woman’s senses and made her much easier to deal with. With a smirk of her own, Yenn would look lovingly at Tamwyn. “You’ll have to teach me that one some day. Seems to be pretty useful.” She was only partially joking, he had promised to teach her everything he knew that she could learn. But in reality unless he brought it up she knew she would never really demand it. She was still under the misconception that she didn’t deserve anything for herself, and so would only take what was offered to her.

Since the camp was compromised, the whole crew packed it up and agreed to move locations. There was also an agreement to not drunkenly marry thieves anymore. A rule she never thought would need to be made. With Saffron securely tied to a tree they all left with the mission complete. Yenn still felt a little bad at how everything had turned out, and hoped that someone would come along and rescue Saffron before anything bad happened.
