The black jacked is trimmed with gold and has gold buttons as well, though he rarely every has the buttons done up. His pants are black as well, and on his feet he wears standard black ninja sandals. One is the silver necklace he wears that bears the symbol of his clan. He almost always wears this necklace, even on missions. The second feature is the large, dark red Eastern Dragon tattoo that starts with the head of the dragon on his left shoulder blade and continues spiraling down his arm all the way to his palm.
History: Ryuichi's story begins before he was born, back in the Land of Fire, in the Village Hidden in the Leaves. His father, Haito Yoru, was a chuunin there and was well on his way to becoming a notable shinobi of Konoha. However, his life plan was interrupted when he went on a mission out in the wilderness to fight off some bandits that had been raiding a small fishing village. The mission should have been simple enough, but complications arose that he never could have expected. When he arrived that the small bandit camp, he launched his attack without hesitation, easily outclassing most of the bandits and killing four of them in no time. But the last one, a beautiful woman with long black hair put up a fight. They were about evenly matched, until Haito managed to disarm her and subdue her. But instead of killing her outright, he asked her how she came to be so skilled with a blade. That conversation led into another, and before too long the two of them had fallen in love.
Haito respectfully asked to be discharged from the shinobi of Konoha, and was granted his request. The pair left the Land of Fire and travelled far away from the woman, Himitsu’s, past. The pair in the Land of Wind with a group of Haito's clanmates that had made a home there. The couple were married and started their life with the clan, opening a small shop and living modest lives until they eventually had their son, Ryuichi. His early years were pretty normal for a member of his clan. He remained bedridden most of the time thanks to the curse of his blood, but when he was not recovering form the pain, he was a busy boy. Working with his mother and father, Ryuichi helped run the store while his father showed him some of the basics of being a shinobi, like hand to and combat and training his body. By the time he was old enough to enter the Academy in Sunagakure no Sato, Ryuichi decided against it. Instead, he chose to stay at home and help his parents with the store. It was a choice that his mother and father were fine with, and so the Yoru family worked happily together for a number of years without incident. Even as he grew older, Ryuichi figured that he would live his whole life in peace.
He was wrong.
Hellfire rained down upon his clan's homestead, turning the desert to glass before the young Yoru’s very eyes. The people bringing the destruction felled one warrior after another, and piece by piece Ryuichi watched as his beloved home collapsed before him. The ashes of people he had known for years filled the air, and among the fallen, Ryuichi saw his father obliterated in an instant, dying for nothing at all. His family’s shop was destroyed, collapsing in on itself and crushing his mother, who Ryuichi refused to leave behind. Digging through the rubble, the young man managed to find his mother and pull her from the refuse, though she could not walk and could barely breathe. It was only luck that saved her, as one of the few remaining clanmates spotted Ryuichi carrying his mother and healed her enough for her to survive a little while longer. The young man watched that friend fall as well, as she was torn in two by the raging flames of hell that ravaged his home. Running for his life, Ryuichi fled with his mother and managed to escape the village walls, turning back for only a moment to gaze upon the blaze one last time.
The journey through the desert was hard, but Ryuichi pressed on northward where he knew there would be people to help him and his mother. He carried her the whole way, until finally when he could carry her no more, he collapsed at the edge of the desert, accepting his fate. Though fate had other plans. A boarder patrol of the Land of Earth happened to notice the pair laying in the dirt and took them in, saving their lives. When he regained consciousness, Ryuichi and his mother were in Iwagakure no Sato in the hospital. His mother’s injuries were such that she would have to remain there, but as soon as he was able, Ryuichi left the hospital and headed straight for the the Land outside of the village. In very little time the Yoru found himself taking on simple bounties of a shinobi to provide for his family while refusing to join the village proper. He was a member of his clan, not some village ninja. That being said, the young man grew to care for his new home, and whenever he entered the village to visit his mother, part of him grew to love it more...
Personality:Determined: Being part of such a proud clan means that Ryuichi grew up in an environment of incredibly high expectations. He carries the legacy of the Dragon's Blood in his veins and realizes that if he is to carry that legacy proudly, he needs to stand out in everything he does. Ryuichi strives to live up to those expectations. He pushes himself ever further with his studies and his training in order to prove to himself and to his clan that he deserves to bear the name Yoru. Along the same line, Ryuichi always believes in getting the job done. Danger does not deter him from any task, unless it is too much danger to others and not himself. He knows that standing out means taking risks, and his determination drives him to take those risks even further.
Inquisitive: Ryuichi loves to learn new things. Since he was so sheltered in one aspect of life for so long, new ideas and information that reaches his is like a blessing to him. Whether this comes in the form of new jutsu, history, or even fighting styles, Ryuichi is always happy to learn and seek out knowledge where it can be found. It is all the better if this knowledge is about his own clan history or about ways to make him more powerful. Knowledge that can help him defend his people and achieve his goals is the best knowledge in existence.
Soft-Hearted: Ryuichi loves hard. Since the tragedy that befell his family in the wilds of the Land of Fire, Ryuichi has found it hard to grow attached to anyone emotionally for fear of losing them. But people that he does get close to become the most precious thing to him. The problem is getting through the rough exterior and finding your way to his soft heart.
