The rank is solely for the purpose of dealing dealing with NPC. With that in mind, the wolves being able to take on endless A-Class NPC exceeds what you would find in the Secret Shop. You can lower their rank to A, meaning these wolves would cancel out a group of A-Class NPC and die in the process.

With that aside, the price you're looking at will be fairly high. Before I price this, however, I recommend investing in a couple more perks that would be suitable for Dire Wolves as well as fill out the stat spread.

There is no real guide for stats, but keep in mind that their usefulness should be considered less of a Summon.
