It was a catastrophe.
The floods had struck suddenly, and before anyone knew it emergency personnel had to be called. Shinobi were streaming around the floods, doing their best to evacuate and limit as much property damage as possible. Those with the Suiton element, who were few and far between in the Land of Wind, were dispatched as specialists in order to control the flow of water if they could and divert it into drainage ditches and sewers. Those who weren’t would be off to evacuate as quickly as possible.
Ei would be one of these shinobi, sent out to assist in evacuation. She was no good when it came to water, lacking the ability to manipulate water in any manner or any sort of skills that could assist in redirecting water. Even operating in it was difficult due to her incredibly high body temperature. If it wasn’t for the ability of shinobi to walk on water she would be effectively useless here. She would be skipping across the flood waters, looking for whatever she could find…
It was then that she would spot it. A kitten orphanage, clearly marked as one. She could hear it now that she focused- The little kittens that were all inside were mewling loudly, as loud as their little kitten bodies could. Ei would freeze in her place, only to immediately turn towards the orphanage. She would burst inside, slamming in through a window to the main lobby. The water damage wasn’t so bad yet, but it would surely grow in time.
She would be out of the building in a flash, having collected fifty kittens together and hiding them in her kimono. Rushing away from the floods, she wouldn’t rest until she managed to get them all to safety.
