Finals! Chigetsu Hozuki vs. Andariel Bloodworth Empty Finals! Chigetsu Hozuki vs. Andariel Bloodworth

Post by Hana Kaguya Thu Mar 12, 2020 11:09 pm

The Final Exam tournament took place in a large arena, one-hundred and fifty meters long and seventy-five meters in width taking the shape of a giant oval. The bleachers were saturated with spectators, from regular civilians to a lot of VIP spectators consisting of land owners, officials from the Land of Water/Lightning/Fire, and exceptionally wealthy individuals. They were all invested in seeing the best of the best perform from each nation.

"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to The Arena! Today we have a special match between two combatants! On the south end of the arena we have Andariel Bloodworth, a ruthless demon hailing from Kumogakure! Known for her headstrong and direct combat tactics, the last place you want to be is at the end of her blade!" An uproar of applause would quake from the audience before the announcer began to speak, the audience uproar dying down. "And on the north end of the arena we have Chigetsu Hozuki! Don't let her beautiful appearance and wealth fool you, as she was personally trained by the Mizukage herself! Let's hear it for the heiress of the Hozuki!"

And it was in this moment both combatants would be allowed to begin as the gates to their end of the arena would be lowered.

The gates would lower, and light from the arena would flood into Chigetsu’s vision. On cue he would step out, revealing himself into the light to be set under the gaze of the onlookers.

A pair of purple sneakers, slightly beaten up would adorn his feet, laced up high with the knots paired to his ankles. His lower half would lack any sort of armor or protection, and his legs would be bare with the exception of the pair of black stockings ran up to his mid-thighs. A similarly black short skirt would hang from his waist, although between this and the thigh-highs would be an inch or two of exposed skin. A blue belt would be tightly secured at his waist, and attached to it would be a collection of holsters and a stuffed belt pouch, all filled to the brim with useful shinobi equipment. Two holsters would be arranged on her left side, while a third would be present on her right, while the belt pouch would be at her rear.

Above her waist is where Chigetsu’s outfit diverged from that of a schoolgirl. Rather than a sailor uniform there would  be a mail shirt, trimmed and tailored to his build so as to not slow him down with unnecessary weight. The mail would only travel down to just below his elbows on each arm, and then the purple fabric of Chigetsu’s traditionally worn hoodie would peek out from beneath and continue the rest of the way down to the boy’s wrists. Around the mail shirt would be a plain baldric, although of black leather and stamped with the symbol of Kirigakure at the shoulder. A single blade would be attacked to it - a ninjato that had been a gift from the Mizukage, which rested sheathed down near his right hip.

His eyes would focus out towards the opposite end of the arena to look for his opponent. Andariel Bloodworth. He knew nothing about her other than what the announcer had said, which was a surprisingly revealing amount of information for them both. Although waiting, Chigetsu would still approach. Until he reached the center, or until ten meters from his opponent. No aggressive moves would be made just yet, it was just to see his opponent for himself.

“Andariel?” Chigetsu would call out, just a bit louder than his normal speaking voice. He was concerned that his voice wouldn’t be heard with the presence of the crowd. “It’s.. nice to meet you!” Speaking to his opponent like this, who would potentially be trying to kill him, was difficult for a multitude of reasons. Still, if she would let him talk he would. "I just wish we could have met under different circumstances... I'll do my best not to hurt you, so maybe we can talk again after this is over."

    Appearance:

Through a pinch of luck Andariel managed to make it to the Finals on a whim. With her teammate abandoning her she knew well she had the disadvantage. It was only through luck that she managed to get the drop on Toshiyuki and rob him of his relic. She was twenty-five thousand ryo richer after the whole ordeal, so she couldn't really complain. Andariel made sure all her gear was up to spec. She cleaned them all last night and polished them with mineral oil to give them luster. If she was going to perform in front of a crowd she wanted to at least look the best she could, whether she won or lost. To her it didn't matter. She didn't crave the attention that came with victory. She didn't seek honor and glory like the other combatants. She performed to test her own ability, and because it was just so much fun.

As the gate lowered she marched straight to the center stopping at the ten meter mark from Chigetsu, her opponent. Her opponent was very...girly. But something seemed off about her that Andariel couldn't quite put her finger on. Her opponent seemed friendly...perhaps too friend. As if she was trying to get Andariel to lower her guard. Or maybe she did fully intend on being friends? Andariel wasn't interested regardless. "You're going to need to hurt me to win~" Andariel said, uninterested in trying to flatter her opponent. Reaching down to her belt she retrieved her sword and buckler combo. She had a feeling the people in the finals were a lot more experienced in combat than those in the Survivals. To believe she could overpower her opponent with just her ax would be too arrogant of her.

With the match starting she would charge forward at her opponent with no attempt to make a creative approach. Once within striking range she would make a lateral cut at the girl's outer arm in attempts to severe it from her body.

The first sight Chigetsu had of his opponent made a very strong first impression. Incredibly tall, standing nearly a foot over Chigetsu in height, Andaraiel was immediately intimidating for a variety of reasons. It wasn’t just her height, but also the way she was dressed. She was covered in steel, her entire torso covered in multiple layers of armor. The weaponry she had, clearly visible, added to the look she had. It took a moment to count it all. Kunai, sword, mace, axe, dagger. She was completely loaded, looking something similar to a one-woman armory. Compared to Andariel Chigetsu looked puny, and woefully unprepared to fight. The mail shirt that he had bought felt useless now, and he almost was beginning to regret even wearing it. What was most interesting though were the horns. Thick and white, stretching out from her hair. They looked like bones. Was she Kaguya? Or was this just a fancy form of armor that was attached to her head somehow? He didn’t dwell on the question for too long. There were more important things to do right now.

Andariel didn’t seem to be much for talking things out. After approaching to close the distance between the two of them she made her unwillingness to make things easy known. “W-Well, I mean… Maybe we can…” Chigetsu would be cut off, trailing in those last words without knowing how to continue as Andariel reached for her sword and buckler. There wasn’t anything else that could be said, unfortunately.

Andariel rushed forward, and Chigetsu would instinctively back up. He was intent to maintain the distance between the two, matching her speed in the opposite direction. This would only last a second, being an instinctual response. The wall was behind him, and he wouldn’t be able to just run away from her if he intended to go any further in these exams.

Five meters back, matching the same speed as Andariel to keep the distance between them constant, and then Chigetsu would stop. His arm would shoot up instead, finger out. He shot once, aiming for her center of mass while she continued the charge. Just one for now. It was as much of a probe as it was an attack.

Despite the battle-ready Oni's adrenaline she was beaten to the draw. Never bring a knife to a gun fight. The bullet coursed through her layers of armor easily despite just being water and pierced the girl's body before doing the same out the other end. Breaking her skin, muscle, and rib bones it passed through her body causing significant damage. Andariel was not used to taking such incredible damage, her body freezing in shock before she fell over unconscious. She certainly wouldn't bleed out over a single gunshot and would be removed from the battle field by staff and taken to the nearest medical facility in a timely manner.

Chigetesu would blink. The shot had pierced right through his opponent, who had fallen over immediately in her charge. This hadn’t been what he had expected or intended to happen, and the sheer shop that happened in the tense circumstances had shocked him to a pretty incredible degree. If he had known it would result in this sort of damage, with the girl passing out immediately, he wouldn’t have used his Water Gun Technique. It was just a moment of shock. It had ended so soon, and unintentionally as well. Paramedics and field staff would rush to the field, and with Chigetsu still frozen in shock they would rush Andariel off the field.
