The Soul Summoning Technique and Contract is originated from the Land of Wind more specifically from Sunagakue no Sato. It was born from the puppet master's long life desire to be able to breathe life into a puppet. After the Human Puppetry technique failed in this aspect, Shin Kazehana began developing, not a way of turning living creatures and weapons into puppets and retaining their soul (as that proved to be impossible), but instead he developed a technique to fetch souls from the Other World and temporarily binding them to puppets. Creating a soul proved to be impossible, but the genius puppeteer knew he could create a soul containing device. All he needed was a way to summon a soul inside it...and from that desire, the Soul Contract was born.

Summoning Method: A single seal is made and a Fuuinjutsu formula shows up on the designated target. The summoning process usually involves a bright light (although there may be exceptions) similar to that of an alchemy circle in FMA.
