Mother Ei, or well that was what Sayuri had come to call the woman who had taken her in, had done a great deal in turning little Sayuri’s living situation around. No longer sleeping on a straw mat in a cave with little blankets for extra padding, the child had had her first full night of rest in a warm and comfortable space. She had awoken come morning feeling refreshed and full of energy, much like someone who might have emptied the entire contents of a pixie stick into their mouth, there was just no delicious sugar involved.
With a far more comfortable living situation at hand, Sayuri figured it was time to put aside her monumental task of trying to discover why people had raided and burned down her previous home and instead focus on something a bit more pressing: what she was. It wasn’t everyone who could turn into a fairly large spider at will, certainly out of a normal human’s capabilities, and it had made Sayuri wonder time and again if she was so unique as to be the only one. Her first stop of the morning had been the library of course, because what better place to find volumes upon volumes of information at hand about the various arachnids. Yet, as much as she had probed and pressed for information, she had found only that of the different species of arachnids, and not an ounce of information on someone like herself who could transform into one at will.
Feeling hopeless with her task at hand, Sayuri had out of sheer frustration headed out of the house with her books in her bag and headed to a beautiful spot she had spotted the first time she had arrived in Sunagakure. The place was known as the Heavenly Gardens, a forested area that was beautiful and quiet. The dome-like structure that housed this forested wonderland was a sight to see in and of itself, but it didn’t compare to the beauty held within. There was something about being surrounded by trees and nature that brought a sort of inner piece to the child, but even it could do only so much against the sheer frustration and confusion she felt.
Despite the place being heavily guarded, Sayuri managed to find a nice little spot where she could relax. Having shed her human skin, she had transformed into a beautiful arachnid. Her legs, quite long and slender, were blue in coloration, while her body, the size roughly of an end table, would host a multitude of beautiful coloration, while her entire being, despite being colored so, had a sort of translucence to it, as if she were nothing more than a quick trick of the light. It was within a tree the child found herself residing, knowing well not to be seen by the humans who might stumble by unless she wished to frighten them and deal with all manner of screaming or worse.
It was only after Sayuri had got good and properly comfortable in her hiding spot that she realized she had left her bag with her library books resting against the base of the tree. Glancing around, the child began to scuttle her way down the tree in hopes to grab her bag before being spotted.
