Team E.

This had been the information laced within the packet that she had received from Hua Li. It provided a location, along with some general instructions on the next portion of the exams. The contents of the packet had all been scanned over once Chigetsu returned to her apartment with Rini, although the information inside had been relatively straightforward. It was a test of survival skills apparently, and Chigetsu had been assigned to Gate E to meet with another Genin who had been assigned the same letter. Beyond that there were a series of several rules. No survival gear, such as provisions, camping supplies, shelter, or etc. No scavenging fallen opponents. No killing in cold blood. Those were the base rules, and then there were the objectives given. They would be given a ‘relic’ when the exams started and would be sent into the forests to either find another relic or steal one from another team. With the entire exam taking five days, it seemed to be a test revolving around survival skills, the ability to work in teams, the ability to engage in combat in wilderness areas, and maybe more.

At the same time, it seemed too straight forward. The last section of the exams that Chigetsu had just went through were the complete opposite of straight forward. The genjutsu that disguised the room, the fuuinjutsu that scrambled written text in a code, and then the mind games that were played between the students… Chigetsu sort of wanted to erase the memories she had in that room of crying and lashing out, considering how embarrassing it had been. She had said some pretty strong things then… It had been unlike her. Thinking back to her saying how she was going to win while in tears. The frustration of being told twice in a row she was going to fail in that room was enough to make her nearly break down, and that gave her a lot of shakey, fight or flight energy, but now after the fact it just left her feeling anxious all over again. The pressure that she had felt in the beginning seemed to be over doubled now, especially as she came to realize exactly what this all meant to her.

These were the sorts of things that Chigetsu thought of while waiting at Gate E. There was a slight drizzle overhead, and the water beating down against her head was relaxing. Something about being out in the rain just felt incredibly pleasant, and it made thinking about tough and heated topics like this easier.

By some miracle, Inarie managed to pass the written exam. Largely it is thanks to Miyu's help, as Inarie wouldn't have resulted in cheating. Granted she's aware that shinobi are supposed to infiltrate behind enemy lines to either steal information, exclusive jutsus, kidnapping or assassinating certain individuals, and just being able to operate in the shadows for their leader. However under the watchful eye such as Baldy she doubted that anything she tried would get by him. Last thing she needed was to get a penalty which may or may not make this exam harder than necessary.

At the end of it, Inarie along with a few others, were handed a packet that contained rules and list of what teams they were on. Inarie is paired with another Genin, but the name Hozuki stood out to Inarie. It made Inarie think back on her previous teammate named Tsukimi Hozuki. Granted Inarie only met the girl once before Tsukimi and their sensei, Bryn, fell into a comatose state. Now that she thinks about it, Inarie hasn't heard from Daisuke in a while now. It made her think about checking up on him, but with this exam coming up Inarie couldn't really spare the time.

Eh, I'm sure he's fine. He's probably on some kind of secret mission for the Mizukage. Inarie consoled herself with her thoughts. She made sure to only bring her chokuto, steel mail shirt, and the rest of her tools. Of course she wore a kimono of blue waves of water with sea foam on a white background. A navy blue sash of silk wraps around her waist that hides the leather belt while still having her chokuto and hip pouch accessible to Inarie. Her platinum hair has a small braid on both sides of her head that stretches back into a fluffy tail that stretches to the upper section of her back. Her piercing rose pink eyes scanning the area as she walked towards these gates. The patches of metallic blue scales can easily be seen on her face. More precisely, roughly like bat wings on the cheeks of her face that frames the bottom part of her eyes. Her exposed skin on the hand also shows scales that seem to stretch further up on her arms. The Kirigakure headband can be seen wrapped around her neck with the steel plate facing forward. Lastly, her feet are covered with a pair of soft leather boots. Of course the steel mail shirt is worn underneath the kimono.

It was drizzling right now which didn't do well with her kimono. However she has plenty more to use, and if anything she can just change into a more practical outfit. Still with the faint scent of lavender coming from her hair, Inarie catches sight of another at the gates of this exam. A strawberry pink that wasn't vibrant red. So Inarie doubts that this person is an Uzumaki albeit it was a possibility. Still, not really seeing anyone else here Inarie assumes that this individual was Chigetsu Hozuki. Still it seems like she is spacing out.

"Excuse me for stealing your time, but you wouldn't happen to be Chigetsu Hozuki by any chance?"Inarie asked as she noted the headband Chigetsu wore. At the very least this was a fellow Kirigakure shinobi, but Inarie still takes it with a grain of salt. Never know when someone is going to bring out a blade on her. Inarie folded her delicate hands into her sleeves at her front. Where a bone handle of black substance sprung from Inarie's right wrist. As it is hidden underneath the sleeves, Inarie wrapped her fingers of the left hand around the handle. Where she can pull it out to defend herself if necessary.

Chigetsu couldn’t help but have her eyes glue themselves to the woman who approached. She was tall. Maybe half a foot taller than Chigetsu. That alone, together with her confident posture, made her noticeable. Just looking at her face though was something else. Her eyes were so sharp, and just taking one look into them made it feel to Chigetsu like she was looking into the sun. She was too attractive. A flurry of emotions tinged with jealousy spread around inside the pink-haired girl, and she would quickly find herself staring down at the ground as this woman approached. It wasn’t just that either. Even when looking away, now that she was close Chigetsu could catch the wafting hints of lavender that came emanated out like an aura of luxury. It was too much. Was this her partner? Had she been paired with some sort of ninja supermodel? It was too intimidating. Already Chigetsu could feel her heart beating wildly inside her chest.

Compared to Inarie, Chigetsu would stand to be much less impressive. She was a shorter 5’4”, although with the nervous slouch she had fallen now into her height would appear even less than that. What stood out the most about her was her hair. A bright pink, having been freshly dyed that color as a part of her confidence building ritual for the Chunin Exams. Past her neck it was braided into a thick, ropey braid of hair that continued down to her hips. At the end would be a tightly wrapped black bow, matching with the other two would would be tied into each side of her head. A solitary locke of paper-white would run down to the left of her face in her bangs, being the one remnant of her natural hair color. Without a single spec of armor on her body, the young woman would instead be dressed in a light, airy purple and white striped crop top. Her headband, wrapped as a sort of necklace that hung loosely at her collarbone, would obscure a bit of the skin that the deeply cut neck of her shirt would have normally exposed. The shirt freely exposed her navel though as well, although overtop of it would be a warm-looking fluffy purple hooded jacket that contained a variety of seemingly unused pockets. At her waist would be the only indication that she was a shinobi at all, with a hip pouch clearly attached firmly to a blue belt. It was joined by three holsters that hung just above the ruffled black skirt that the girl wore. A similarly simple pair of black stockings would run down her legs, hiding any traces of skin. Rather than any sort of boots, Chigetsu would be wearing a slightly beaten up pair of purple laced sneakers. They were practical still, if perhaps not exactly what a shinobi would be expected to wear.

Her eyes, a dull lavender, would refuse to make eye contact with the woman who had appeared before her. It was just something that Chigetsu was simply incapable of doing. The previous train of thought that she had would be thrown violently off a cliff now that this woman arrived.

“I’m…” She would search for her words for a moment, unsure of exactly how to introduce herself. “I am. My name is Chigetsu. I’m guessing you’re my partner…?” It would be painfully awkward, although that was how first meetings tended to be for her.

The girl was fidgeting now, and her nervousness seems to try to make Chigetsu smaller than she really is. Inarie was a tad bit confused on that as she didn't know what was going through the girl's mind. Chigetsu even avoids eye contact, and frankly most would find the behavior worrisome on whether they have the will when things get tough. Still, Chigetsu confirms who she is, and inquired if they are on a team. To which a small smile forms on Inarie's lips as she giggles. Inarie isn't popular, and while she is definitely confident in herself Inarie didn't think someone would be afraid of her. Or perhaps it was anxiety? Either way Inarie tries to not overwhelm the girl and maintains a safe personal distance. An ice breaker distance as some would say. Inarie's hands are still folded into her sleeves, and the left hand is still curled around the bone handle hidden under her sleeves.

"Indeed, although you might have read it, my name is Inarie Yoru-Kaguya. Pleasure to work with you." Inarie responded with an introduction as she finished with a courtesy bow in respect. Once Inarie straightened herself, she looks over at the jungle. It was dense, and it was an area Inarie isn't familiar with.

"When we get in there, be sure to not run off on your own. The goal is to survive together and get to the finish line." It probably isn't necessary to tell her this, but Inarie wanted to make sure they were on the same page. They don't need a blood thirsty idiot or a short tempered clown trying to start fights with everything that looks at them funny. Still, Inarie understands the purpose of teamwork. She shifts her gaze back to Chigetsu before speaking again.

"Your thoughts on the matter?" As the Kaguya will listen to whatever Chigetsu has to say. After all, the Azure Lily often practices the firm yet warm-hearted persona. If Chigetsu proceeds to start leaving, Inarie will follow. If the alarm signals for their test to begin, Inarie will gesture with her free hand for Chigetsu to walk with her. Of course, Inarie pulls the bone tanto out as she separated her hands and stows it under her sash. Either way, Inarie will try to assure Chigetsu.

Inarie Yoru-Kaguya. That was the name that Chigetsu had read… She didn’t know why she was so surprised. She had met members of the Kaguya Clan before. They were all like this. Tall, confident, and intimidatingly beautiful. That was how Hana and Daisuke both were. It almost wasn’t fair. Her arms would cross over her midsection, and she would fiddle a bit with the fabric of her jacket’s sleeves as Inarie spoke. She wanted to at least give this woman the courtesy of looking her in the eyes, but… It was hard. She would settle for a happy medium, of where Chigetsu would do her best to look at her neck instead. It was closer to eye level and not nearly as intimidating… but after a few moments of doing this she became worried that Inarie might notice and think she was weird for doing so. Her eyes flickered back down to the ground again, dejected by her own thoughts.

“It’s a pleasure to work with you too.” She watched the courtsey with wide eyes, only to mimick it just as soon as Inarie was done in a half-panick. Chigetsu didn’t want to be rude. Was this was people did to introduce themselves? It was so fancy. Doing it made her skirt flutter a bit too.

“I… Uh… My thoughts?” The truth was that she had stopped thinking when Inarie showed up. It was hard to right now, although saying that would probably reflect poorly on her. There was such a thing as being too honest. So instead she would search back, biting her lower lip as she recalled the last several days.

“I want to win.” It was what she settled on. Maybe a bit generic, but even saying something like that and admitting to it so honestly was a big achievement for someone like Chigetsu. Inarie might not understand the significance it had to her though that she was able to say it aloud. “Let’s both do our best. I’ll support you if I can…” She would trail off, lost in her thoughts for a moment.

“Ah… One thing. Please don’t… I’m a Hozuki, you know, so… I mean really, please don’t use any Raiton near me. It’s not… I’ll die” She would turn to look at the trees behind Inarie while speaking, off over to the side. “Not that you probably have it, but… Just in case, I guess. If anyone else uses it in there, I’ll have to get far away.”

Once that was done with, probably the most important thing that Chigetsu had to say, she would go off to leave. Rather than allowing Inarie to follow after her, Chigetsu wouldn’t turn to leave until she did, wanting to follow after the Kaguya. It was a bit awkward at first, until Inarie signalled for them to walk together.
