Taiga had a big day planned for her ahead. After months of studying and hard work she developed enough know-how to learn some valuable technique which would help further her survival as a ninja. Taiga was familiar with Taijutsu and Bukijutsu being the first two skills she chose to specialize in along with Chemistry. They were essential for self-defense and what all ninja should have in their arsenal. Although she knew a lot of the basic forms and technique they were nothing applicable to combat. That being said, during her research she had been putting in a lot of time with missions to help build up a decent physical body to help make the most of her Taijutsu strikes. Endurance was important, next to speed and strength. She came a long way in all of those categories and now she felt she was ready to make the most of her training thus far.
She left her home around nine in the morning after grabbing most of her gear she needed for practice. They included all of her weapons as well as a few learning manuals to help her along the way if she needed them. Taiga hurried to the first training ground she could find. She didn't have any real preferences. Any place would do as long as she could focus undisturbed. She found herself in a small grassy field with plenty of wooden tree trunks used for target practice and a hitting dummy. This place was as good as any. Taiga began by first stripping herself off of all the weapons she weren't using at the moment. She kept her belt, holster, and pouch on her as they carried the bare essentials. She was unarmed at first having decided to work on her Taiga first. It was the most important skill to have. In some cases a ninja may not have a weapon to defend themselves with and must rely on their body for defense. Konoha had a Taijutsu style known as Strong Fist which specialized in speed and forceful impact. As the technique suggests, it focuses on external impact over pressure points. The user must cause as much physical harm to their opponent as possible.
Taiga lacked a lot of strength to make the most out of her Taijutsu which is why she primarily focused on weapons and poison to defeat her opponents. She utilized her kakute rings to implement these poisons when her opponents least expects. For now she would focus on that basics of Taijutsu. She approached one of the testing dummy logs which already had the bark stripped from its front from previous users. This was beneficial for her since she would damage her knuckles less from impact, but Taiga knew that by the end of her Taijutsu training her hands would be hurting really bad. But the short-term pain was nothing compared to the practice she would receive from this day. Slipping off her kakute rings she'd store them in her pouch for now. The last thing she needed was to prick herself with her own poison and suffer the negative drawbacks. The poison she had on them was one that caused muscle cramps to weaken a victim's overall physical strength. That was the last thing she needed for today.
"Okay, time to see what I can do..." She was curious how strong she was now. She wasn't expecting a lot of impressive results as she did not keep up with a lot of her physical training since she left the academy.
Raising up both arms in a guard she'd throw her first punch at full power to the training tree. Her knuckled knocked against the hardwood as pain shot around her hand following a small thud. Retracting her hand immediately in pain she moved her fingers around as blood flow moved in. The tree suffered no notable damage and her knuckles were already sore as her white skin around the point of impact started to turn pink. The pain didn't show on her face, Taiga knowing better than to show that sort of weakness. It certainly hurt her hand, but gasping in pain was unnecessary. Tightening her fist back into a bare knuckle she'd perform two strikes, one with her right and another with her left. She repeated this as she braced for the pain, each strike becoming more painful but also numbing her hand as the nerves were being ground down. After her fifteenth consecutive combo she noticed bits of red painting the area she had been striking. From repeated abuse her hands fists were worn red, the skin peeling and minor bleeding occurring.
It was not a huge bother to her as the damage was only minor and did not threaten her life. She would do the same practicing her kicks, her shin and feet not suffering the same damage as her hands. But in a brief hour session she was comfortable with the basic technique of Strong Fist. She worked up a steady sweat as she laid back against the tree she practiced on sliding down to the ground and taking a short rest. She'd dump a bit of water onto her hands to rinse them off and take a swig to freshen up. Staying still she'd recover her breath and be back on her feet in ten minutes.
For her the training was just beginning. Taijutsu was the fundamental skill she needed to practice on, but now she needed to learn some of her Bukijutsu technique. She'd grab her Kama, which was a basic sickle designed her combat. It was originally a farmer's tool, but ninja fashioned them into improvised weapons. They were great for cutting, trapped, and even using as a spike to deal fatal wounds. It was versatile which allowed Taiga to benefit using her speed and lack of strength. She returned to the same tree with the Kama in hand and started to fight with it defensively. She'd thrust the blade forwards as if the dummy was an actual opponent before raking back using the bladed side to carve a deep cut against the side of the tree. She'd practice several different procedures with uppercuts, striking with the handle as an impact weapon, and hacking downwards using the blade as a pick. The blade would bite into the tree and be somewhat difficult to remove, but with enough work she managed to free her weapon from the tree.
Her last weaponry technique was more of a Ninjutsu as it involved utilizing her chakra to be flown through the weapon. She focused on her Earth element to surge through the blade. The weapon turned a darker color as it was hardened by her chakra. This made her blade more impressive in quality as she imagined would be ideal for breaching armor or when going up against a superior weapon that would otherwise break or damage her own. She finished her weapon practice for now setting her Kama down with the rest of her gear. She had only been out for roughly two hours and accomplished so much. But now it was the hard part of her training. Taiga had no experience with Ninjutsu and had only recently discovered her element was Earth. She figured Ninjutsu was important especially for her since she lacked a lot of the necessary physical stats to avoid damage. She wasn't the fastest and she was too early in her career to be seen as very agile. Earth was great because it provided her with defense where she otherwise did not have a means to protect herself.
Her first technique was a basic wall which lacked significant defense but provide a barrier between her and projectiles or weaker level technique. It was easy to perform which was beneficial to her and potential allies as it didn't require hand signs.
"Let's see how well this work." Taiga said a bit hesitant at first. She planned to place her palms on the ground and inject her chakra into it to yield some sort of result. She needed to raise a slab of Earth and harden it with her chakra to create a stationary structure. It was important to do these steps simultaneously. Hardening the Earth before moving it would make the ground too solid to lift without using a stronger technique. Likewise, if you lift the technique and wait too long to harden it you'll be left with a pile of dirt as there is little structural integrity holding it together. It didn't seem too challenging in theory as Taiga was somewhat adept with chakra control and the basics of how technique. Controlling her chakra would just be another step towards mastering her progression as a ninja. Having to kneel down she sat on her knees before closing her eyes. She focused on what she wanted to achieve. This would be a slab of Earth, rectangular, standing four meters high and three meters wide. After visualizing the technique enough she'd place both palms on the Earth and fire off her chakra.
The result would be what she imagined. Earth would raise up towards her and stand upright serving as a static defense. She'd open her eyes to admire what she managed to create with little prep work. Pacing around the other side she placed her open hand against it. It was solid like rock as no loose dirt remained. But before she could actually celebrate she wanted to know if this structure was something she was willing to put her life behind. Taiga jogged a few meters away from the defense and reaching into her pouch carefully to retrieve a single kunai knife. With a powerful pitch she'd throw the blade straight towards the wall. With no effort the wall held still, the knife deflecting off the surface. Approaching the fallen knife she'd pick it back up and examine it for damage. It was still in good condition which meant she could use it for later purpose. Stashing the blade back in her pouch she moved onto other technique she needed to master. Earth was good for defense but it also had some offensive technique. The thought of spitting out boulders may seem odd to some, but for Earth users it was a viable technique. And another easy one to learn at that.
The Stone Pistol Technique involved spitting a small pebble from ones mouth, which was entirely created from chakra. This rock rapidly grows in size into a large human-sized rock before crashing into its target. It has some impressive destructive power and will be a valuable technique for her to learn for defense. Only requiring one hand sign she held the Monkey hand sign as she charged her chakra. It would start from her stomach as it climbed up to her mouth. Keeping her cheeks compressed she started the formation of the rock in her mouth. It was a shocker at first to feel a small bit of gravel form at the center of her tongue pressed firmly against the roof of her mouth. Since it was a rock created by her elemental nature and chakra it was clean not tasting like anything. She didn't have to worry about germs sitting in her mouth. It grew into a small pebble before she tried to expel it as the technique described. She wanted to target the Earth wall she created earlier to destroy it as opposed to damaging the trees or shooting it up in the sky. She figured it would especially be unwise to fire it blindly into the sky as it could eventually come back down and crush an unsuspecting victim. She had to be especially careful when practicing with Ninjutsu. That much was obvious. She figured Fire users believed in the same when practicing with Fire Ninjutsu, preferring lakes or large rocky areas for their technique instead of dense forests.
Spitting the pebble out from her spits it accelerated at impressive speeds being unrealistic compared to what a human could normally achieve without the aid of chakra. In a flash it grew into a large boulder before crashing into the stone wall defense. Both technique were destroyed in the clash which was a job well done for Taiga. She worked up quite a sweat at the end of this training, but it was not in vain. She learned a lot of technique and got some hands on experience with various Ninjutsu technique. She figured she could go longer but now she just wanted to have a good lunch and rest up. Sitting back on her tree post she'd relax for a few minutes before deciding to clean up. She'd grab her tools one by one and secure them to her body before starting her hike back home. It wasn't a far walk, maybe half an hour or so from the training grounds if she kept a good pace. But when she did go home she would bathe, eat, and lay down reminiscing on what she learned today so hopefully it would stick to her memory.
