History:
Naito is a simple boy from Kumogakure, with a mother and father same as everyone else. He loves his village and found he had an affinity for the shinobi arts as a kid, due to the fact that he was abnormally quick. His parents signed him up for the academy so that he could become a shinobi and earn enough money for them to get by. Neither of his parents are actual shinobi themselves, rather they are shopkeepers and traders trying to get by. They hope Naito's talents will earn him enough money from the village to help finance them.
Naito is not aware that he is the Nephew of the Daimyo of the Land of Lightning. His father was banished from the Royal Family because he married outside of his privilege, falling in love with Naito's mother during a trip to Kumogakure (she was a simple cook/waitress at the restaurant they happened to dine at). Forced to make his own way in the world, Naito's father apprenticed for a local blacksmith and began the arduous work of weapon design. Little did he realize he was actually quite talented at it! He works hard in his own shop now, and hopes that his son will bring him good business when he rises to prosperity.
Naito meanwhile wants the adventures of being a shinobi. He wants to experience everything and anything he can.
Personality: Naito is a very humble and down-to-earth individual. He does not play up his strengths like he is the big man on campus. He will bluntly point out people's mistakes, but he does not aim to act superior to anyone in anyway. It's too pointless and so not fun. Naito has an open mind, as he is still fairly young. He tries to see things from other people's point of view and tries to examine things from every angle. He's a compassionate person, even to enemies, showing them sympathy and genuinely feeling bad for having to do what needs to be done.
He is very devoted to his village and will do whatever it takes to protect it. Even if he doesn't like or agree with the village's decisions. He is loyal to a fault.
Roleplay Sample:
It was a warm summer day in Kumogakure no Sato. The toasty air flowed through the streets of the mountain city with a fresh, inviting grace. It passed through the civilians, the walking on-duty shinobi, and even visited many of the local shops (saying hello). Some people found it bothersome, the hot air making them sweat and cringe. They weren't strong enough to take it.
But Naito reveled in it. The warmness of the day was fresh, pleasant, and inspiring.
He got up out of bed with haste. He followed his usual routine of eating breakfast in his pajamas (this time it was cereal with milk), brushing his teeth, putting on his shinobi attire, and running out the door. He had some training to do today. And he damn sure wasn't going to fall behind on his schedule. His parents wished him good luck as they did every morning. They hoped he continued to improve, as his performance was key to their own economic welfare...
When he arrived at the training areas he was ready to go. Wearing a white robe with a black sash tied around his waist to hold it together, with no shirt and black pants, as well as black ninja sandals - Naito was primed for shinobi activities. With blade in hand he rushed at the targets, and with slice by slice, mowed them down into halves.
It was super easy to pick apart targets. Targets that couldn't move, counter, or even react. But Naito knew he wasn't fast enough. In a real fight - he was basically useless. He had a long way to go before he could consider himself a capable shinobi.
