The young man has spiky, yet messy black hair that goes down at the back of his neck. He has red eyes and he's 5'6" in height, his body sports a rather slim build, his clothing isn't nothing too complicated either and he simply wears the right outfits for the right occasion, such as wearing his ninja outfit for his duty and his casual outfit for more casual/off-duty settings.
History:
Kouen hadn't grown up with much struggle or with a sad upbringing compared to other ninjas, he grew up to be an odd, yet curious boy. He took a liking to reading, mostly about fantasy books that opened his mind to imagination and through this he found a calling to become a ninja, deciding early on that he didn't want to do something casual in society. This is what had drawn him to become a ninja.
He went through the academy normally like everyone else, though he was far more under the radar compared to other people because of his introvert side, he didn't make too many friends and tried his best to focus on his studies, but that didn't always work as he fell behind in understanding the lessons given to him in the classroom, coupled with his lack of confidence in even asking the teacher to help him, theory wise he wasn't good. He had scored below the average.
But when it came to the practical exams, he performed highly and this is what had balanced out his overall score to graduate from the academy.
Personality:
Kouen is an introvert to heart, an aspect of him that had stick ever since he was a child. His parents were convinced at the age of six, he had no idea how to speak but after a bit of testing revealed that he's somewhat eccentric, it's not that he couldn't speak but he simply chose not to at most times, and he carried this habit even to this day. He shows himself to be rather well-spoken and self aware at his age for the moments he does speak.
Despite this habit, it isn't to say that he isn't social, most people tend to describe him as reserved or taciturn. He only said as much as he needed to and only spoke more then he usually exerts if he felt comfortable around someone, he's very capable of being social or holding a casual conversation but it needs to be with the right person, or if he's in the right mood for it.
Kouen is also known to be rather slow on the uptake, he likes to be in control and likes to know what's going on and due to his habit of learning some concepts slowly or taking in knowledge slowly compared to how fast others might do it, he developed the trait of being observant over the years as a result of doing this, as he tries his best to keep up with all the details and stares at things that catches his attention far more then he should let it, he even does this sometimes in the middle of conversations.
Another aspect of Kouen to consider is that he isn't considered a person to be long-term committed to anything, in terms of how he feels about things. He willingly does his duty as a ninja because he sees it as a job with extra benefits and does it out of a feel of necessity to do something valuable, instead of feeling the drive to be a successful ninja. Kouen does have a love for reading and fantasy and this is a hobby that stuck with him ever since he was young but aside from that, his hobbies are known to shift around a lot and don't really last that long, where this can last to a few days or a few weeks at best.
