Akira trudges along slowly, stalwart in her gait and stoic in her facial expression. She was on the run at this point--actually living up to her label. It was disappointing but it was definitely much better than getting caught like a deer in headlights staying in Kirigakure. Once she's far enough from the village, the pinkette silently stops moving, having found herself in a small clearing. She takes a seat and leans up against a tree, taking her backpack off.

She'd definitely have to stop carrying some of this stuff. She mostly had her equipment tucked away into her hip pouch and kunai pouch, and some of the heavier things were in the backpack. Still, she needed the food and water that she had in her backpack. After nibbling on a bit and sipping some water she tucks it back away and grabs onto the rigged umbrella she brought along, and stands up. The female keeps a hold on it, spinning it about within her grasp as she continues to walk again.

"I need to find the coast as soon as possible." The pinkette murmurs to herself, wearing a white sweater with a pair of black pants and matching sandals, covered up by a gray robe with baggy sleeves and reaching down to her ankles. A dark-blue sash keeps the robes secure upon her person for the most part. She opens up the umbrella she retrieved from the backpack, keeping it hovered over her as she keeps at striding away.

Days worth of traveling have eventually lead her into a far-less occupied area, both in terms of vegetation and just general populace. There was an eerie, almost off-putting vibe she got just from being at this place, so she figured she shouldn't stick around long, but she wanted to at least get some rest. After searching for any kind of hill-esque incline in the land, the female eventually takes a seat and removes the backpack strap from her shoulders. She sets the backpack beside her and hugs an arm around it loosely, before partially declining against it.

Having been walking along and taking rests like this for a few days now, she figured it wouldn't be any different to do the same this time around. She still feels uncomfortable in this current place though, and as a result resolves to just shut her eyes for the time being, trying to stay awake for now.

    Crunch... crunch... crunch...

Nikuyo turned his head towards the east, his sensory range picking something up at the far edge. His eyes narrowed as the signature faded away, being unsure as to whether he had imagined it or not. The second Mizukage was garbed in his full armor and had on his famously huge fur coat made from the pelt of a brown bear. It was wrapped around his impressive shoulders and hid most of the weaponry he had on his person. Truly, it was an astounding amount. His arm guards had been inscribed with a Lightning Flash Blade Creation seal by an ally of his upon his request, allowing him to store most of his small arms and odds and ends type weapons inside of it for future use. He couldn't reseal it of course, but there were extra pouches contained in the seal too if it came down to it.

He had his trench knives on his waist, one on each hip, as well as his wakizashi. A couple pouches on his legs and one on the back of his belt had an assortment of items in them for quick access. He didn't like to rely on others too much after all. The ever greying hair was as unruly as always with a beard to match. The old man let it grow to hide the scars the decorated his face as well as the rest of his body. Curious as to what he detected, Nikuyo turned east and picked up his pace a bit. Surely enough the signature fell into range again. Without a word and now without a sound, the Mizukage charged for the new signature.

Had Honiko returned? He didn't detect that witch anywhere nearby, but there was someone on the island of that he was sure. They'd likely be going insane within hours even without his interference, but Nikuyo was feeling the urge to satisfy a certain... itch. He had left the pits again recently to come to this island and had been reassured very few people that weren't supposed to be there would come. And yet, here was someone. And that someone intrigued him. Were they any good at fighting? How long would it take before they began to beg? How long before they bled out? The important questions in life, as we all know.

Unlucky for this poor girl, Nikuyo could sense her every move and made sure to keep behind her by judging the direction she was traveling and shadowing her. He closed the distance quickly, the back of the stranger coming into view. Before she had even gotten time to rest, the Old Wolf would soundlessly slip behind her with a trench knife in hand. With reflexes most people thought to be mythical, this blade would swing around and press against her throat. Done hiding his presence with the Silent Killing technique once he had gotten to her, the malice he felt towards this living creature on the other end of his knife would become almost tangible to the poor girl. And it was likely that at this point she knew...

    "You picked the wrong island."

His words were said with complete and total hostitlity, as if the man had an utter hatred of her very presence. It was as if her very existence insulted him, and the venom in his words would make this more than clear. Still pressing the blade against her throat had would lean in to speak in her ear. Any sudden movements and the blade might just slip a little, and Nikuyo would feel nothing over it either way.

"I don't sense Honiko with you. That means you're probably not with her, hm?" The question was rhetorical of course. The old man pulled back a little, his collosal form towering over her as he stood at 6'8" when fully erect. Should he just kill her? That would be the most prudent form of action. Ah, but that wouldn't be any fun. He was missing his home a little today so maybe she could help him feel a bit more welcome to this hellhole of an island. As long as she was near him she would be fine, as Nikuyo was carrying a coin in one of his pouches that protected him from the effects of the mist. This was a cursed island for a reason, and the fact that this girl wasn't babbling incoherently right now was a miracle.

Nikuyo chuckled, an evil grating sound coming from his old and worn out vocal chords. "I'm going to give you two choices, and you're going to pick one: die, or come with me." Nikuyo's ultimatum was delivered mercilessly with a tone even harsher than the one he had first taken with her. If she was not a fool, she would know which one gave her a sliver of hope. It was fairly obvious to him, at least. He wouldn't wait too long for an answer however, so she had better decide quickly. Nikuyo was not known to be a patient man.

Akira's left completely unaware of the male lurking that's been trailing her for a good distance ever since she entered the island to seek brief refuge. She'd heard plenty of the rumors, but she figured that if she was strong enough to pull her own weight she'd be right. Besides, who believed in superstititons anyways? She tended to look at them like methods for parents or guardians to scare their kids into not going to certain places, and this place was no different for her.

Though, she couldn't help but feel this odd chill down her spine from the moment she entered. Whether it was based off instinct or just her kind of remembering the rumors, she didn't want to dissuade herself from staying here. While this mist was creepy as shit and she was pretty sure she was hearing voices, strong people didn't back down from challenges. This was just another challenge... right? Upon finally finding the place in which she could sit down in rest, she was eager.. afterall just walking got tiring. From what seemed out of the blue, the female's movements are cut short before she can ease into relaxation. A knife brings itself in alignment with her neck, prompting her to lock up the entirety of her body. With wide eyes and a bead of sweat dripping from her brow, she's only able to afford a single sentence in her mind, while the rest of it is bugging out and trying to make sense of the situation. How did someone get behind her? Were those crazies walking around in this place not some bullshit rumor?

    '---What the fuck?'

The same chill she got in her spine earlier runs up it again, and she collects her thoughts---as much as she can at least. As those words leave the man in a seemingly grizzly tone bearing killing intent, she gulps, trying to stay as unmoving as she possibly can. He could kill her at any moment in this positioning. She had nowhere near the reflexes, speed, or even the maneuverability to get out of this. Talk about a fucking checkmate. Had the village found out who she was and sent people after her that quickly? Surely not... she tried to make her exit as inconspicuous as she could manage... but maybe she'd just been really unlucky or bad at looking innocent?

As the male speaks again, his statement about a "Honiko", as well as the assumption that she isn't associated with them makes her squint in confusion. And it ultimately causes her to nearly whisper out what little of a sentence she can construe in this extremely unsettling predicament she's been putting in. It's an incredibly blatant thing that completely blows any sort of cover she could've set up for herself, but that's what a mix of honest fear, confusion and uncertainty does to you.

    "H-Honiko? The hell..."

She bites the urge to clamp her own hand over her mouth. Chances are she could end up getting her own head lobbed off if she made any sudden movements. As soon as he pulls away some, the female stumbles forward--or well, attempts to. If his knife is still lined up with her neck or at least in her path she's not moving at all. Nearly falling if she was able to even distance herself in the slightest, she tries to gather her bearings as he speaks, that eerie chuckle resonating from the male prior to his proposition. It seemed more like a one-sided effort than any sort of two-option offer.

Assuming she does get the chance to turn her head and leer at him in distrust, such an expression quickly changes to one of shock as she sees who it is. "Y-You're supposed to be in a coma! What the fuck..." She shouts. She felt like she was hallucinating but... having that knife to her neck felt pretty far from superficial. Why was the man even standing? She heard several different explanations regarding his current status but none of them had ever lived up to him being here. And there was no way in hell some measly outcast from a clan of snobs had actually got enough attention from actions she didn't even perform to warrant an actual ex-Kage to pursuit her and handle her leaving the village.

Something just wasn't right here, but she had no time to question it. She didn't want a knife to her throat again.

"..." She gulps once more, a pit of uncertainty still in her stomach. After a few moments of brief, well-needed time to think, she clenches her teeth, then slowly and apprehensively strides on forward. "Fine." Akira doesn't ask questions about where she's being lead. She's just assuming that he's going to take her back to Kirigakure to execute her or some crazy shit. Honestly, she just wanted to leave behind her past at this point. Even the only goal that she had had been stolen by someone, and she still didn't know who. First that shit and now a man who was supposedbly on his death bed managed to sneak up behind her and nearly lay her down for good. She didn't know what was happening at all anymore, and it pissed her off and distressed her at the same time.

'Guess I really underestimated them, huh? Unbelievable.. it's only been a few days too.'

Nikuyo's broken smile showed through his mess of a beard when the girl mentioned him supposedly being in a coma. "Heh, I suppose you're not wrong. Everybody has a friend in the world though. Except you," he said to the girl in reference of her being here all by her lonesome. She opted for the smart decision however, or at least she didn't directly say she wanted to die. Nikuyo kept the trench knife out and motioned to the west with it. "Move." The old man's tone was still hostile in every conceivable way and he acted as if he was taking a P.O.W to a camp with his mannerisms. Once she was moving that direction, Nikuyo would take up a position one meter behind her. Well within reach if she tried to do anything funny. "You've got another mile to go. Walk quickly."

Akira squints at his words, still confused over all of it for the most part. She can't help but silently agree with the last bit that he says. If she had any friends, they'd know good and well that she hadn't done what she had been accused of. But none the less, she'd stuck to her guns of being a lone wolf, and it seemed to have gotten her caught up in a completely different thing altogether. She just wanted a quiet life too..

'Fuck sake..' She thinks to herself, furrowing her brows angrily and starting to move along to the west, as he had gestured. The female doesn't take her time with moving, even before he told her to move quickly, but it's more or less because she wants that knife as far away from her as possible. Unfortunately she didn't exactly have protection to rely on like the oh-so-privileged other former clansmen of hers. 'Maybe he'll sleep or something. Old people sleep.... ughhh the fuck did I get myself into!?'
