History:
Oni, legendary demons of intoxication and strength harbored in both fearful stories and those of fanciful delight. The only danger was lying in the truth of their existence as a whole. Many that believed in the folklore didn't know of the Yokai Clan which held those stories together by a thread of truth, that those born into it's legacy were bestowed powers that gave birth to the legends known today.
It's not easy to grow up as an Oni, having strength above your natural years from the beginning, setting you apart from the normality of mankind, but Yōko forced her way in. Born to a Yokai and Human duo, one of the Path of the Oni and the other a Jounin from Kumogakure that had fallen in love with the aggressive woman, soon to be his wife - Yōko was loved from the start. Her mother wasn't ashamed that she had been with someone outside the Clan, it wasn't the first for her clan to do so and she'd do it again if it meant loving the same man that brought Yōko into her life.
From a young age Yōko displayed talents of her path that far exceeded the normal growth rate that most before her had. Taught the way of her clan's ways, which included drinking at the young age of just 14, she was welcomed into young adulthood by none other than Ashtoreth, the Clan Head.
Ashtoreth was a woman of secrecy, no one really knew what went through her mind, only that those of the Paths believed she would guide them into a glorious future. That future never came though as one day Ashtoreth vanished and left her people to fend for themselves, at first Yōko was outraged and considered Ashtoreth to have betrayed their trust and belief in her -- this was soon rectified though when she met Asami.
Asami was Ashtoreth's personal disciple and a prodigy when it came to the Baku path, a more spiritual and supernatural path out of the others. Being a girl of the path of brutality and physical power, she couldn't understand why Ashtoreth had left them and wanted vengeance but Asami swayed her with sweetened words like honey, telling her that Ashtoreth would return and bring about the peace and prosperity she claimed prior to her disappearance. Yōko didn't trust Ashtoreth much anymore but Asami? Well Yōko wanted to be her friend, so she'd trust in her instead and hope what she says is true... if it's not though, there will be hell to pay and the devil will collect it's due.
Personality:
While in her more Human appearance, her personality could be defined as playful and kind with just a hint of lecherousness. Yōko is the type of girl that speaks her mind freely and damns the world if they'd try to stop her. Her tastes narrow to anything that she views as beautiful and aims to make what is, her own. In that way, she could be called childish but she just thinks it's a merit to evaluate what has worth around her and seize it with her own two hands. Just like her parents before her, she began drinking at just around 14 and has been keeping at it ever since. When drunk she's more prone to episodic behavior ranging from a form of drunk giddiness where she attempts to make those around her smile and have a good mood, to being angry drunk and attempting to pick fights with those that she gets irritated with. She won't apologize for the behavior in either case, figuring it's just her true inner intentions being realized. Alcohol is seen as a way to release stress for her and get to her 'true self', the Oni inside of her.
The Demonic side of her, the Oni, isn't too far off from Yōko's usual self only that she's more selfish and inclined to harm others without second thoughts or hesitation. Wild and aggressive, this side to her loves to fight just about anything and anyone, from tossing boulders to attacking anyone that would mock the Yokai Clan, she goes straight for the jugular. If Yōko's regular side is the playful child that acts like a free bird, than her Demon side is the devil on her back that tells her to do all the harmful and wrongs in this world merely to satiate her own desires and needs. It's due to this that Yōko views this side as her true self since she feels as though this is where she thrives off what she really wants without second-guessing if it's 'morally correct' or 'appropriate'. Gambling, Drinking, Flirting, Fighting, all of these are just natural to her and she loves every single one.
