Guard the Gates [Mission | Sakura | C]

Mission Details:

"Umbrella at your side, it’s raining but you close it tight. And how are you? purred a cat just passing through. Those heels that you like are soaking, but is that alright? Let out a sigh for another day the same as the last. Come on let’s try, dye it blue and change it up from the past. Reflecting up from a puddle but then gone in a flash. Is that the most that you can dream or wanted to see?" A soft calming and angelic voice sung on the winds, the song was sweet and upbeat. The voice behind the beautiful song was a little girl of maybe twelve years. The girl was sitting on the edge of a rooftop, looking towards the Village walls. They had long black hair, cut in a princess fringe at the front with big ruby red eyes that sparkled like diamonds. Skin looked soft and was as white as snow. Their style of a dress a floral purple yukata with blue sash. The girl would be described as a snow white beauty that could topple many hearts, especially when they grew up.

The lolita's feet kicked gently at the air as the sung, "But look around. Dance up and down. The world is now. Still going ‘round. Just feel it pound. We’re skyward bound. Move at the top speed of sound." The girl didn't care to pay attention to the world around them as they sung, before they cut it off. The lolita dropped down from the ledge, and slid down a wall, using chakra to slow their descent. Landing on the ground they dusted their clothing off.

The little Lolita was Hateshiginai, Yumi, a Genin of Kirigakure, who specialised in the field of illusions, chemicals, medicines and seals. They were on a job today, having accepted to take a C rank mission to guard the village gates. They were supposed to report at noon and would meet up with the others who had taken the same mission. Whether anyone else took the job was another thing as it was possible, Yumi would be on their own. But protocall dictated at least two guards, so chances were someone else would join them. With a bounce in their step, Yumi skipped towards the gates to start the mission.

A tall, slender woman was walking down the streets of Kirigakure, her long, golden hair flowing freely behind her and her black ninja high heeled ninja sandals clacking as she made quick work of the road ahead with her long strides. She was able to move about as she wanted due to the purple flowery kimono and snowy white leggings she adorned which allowed her limbs ample room to maneuver about. The woman radiated a warmth like no other with the blindly smile upon her lips, a large contrast to the chilling techniques known only by her clan.

The reason for such a kunoichi to be out and about instead of at the training grounds was due to the recent mission she had accepted. Sakura was to take watch over wall while the usual guards rested, a task she was more than willing to accept since it meant she could help the other guards. Helping others is one of the many traits that made up the bubbly shinobi and she didn’t mind being alone on the mission if that was required of her for it gave the Yuki time to admire the natural beauty around and within her village. But she wouldn’t be disappointed if others were also given this task, and would be excited to meet new people if that were the case. It didn’t matter to her what kind of personality someone had or how the appeared to be, she wanted to get to know anyone and everyone she came across.

It was about five minutes until noon when Sakura arrived at the meeting place for the mission, and instantly she noticed another person had just arrived, skipping their way to the gate. Right off the bat she could tell the other kunoichi was much shorter than herself even without her heels on and that she was very petite, almost fragile looking. The smaller shinobi had ebony hair, a stark contrast to her ivory skin, with soft crimson eyes, and her clothing was not unlike her own attire, being a floral purple yukata, instead of a kimono, tied together with an aqua sash.

The difference in their appearances was interesting to her, even more so with the fact that the other female looked quite young, as if she were only twelve years old. Four years younger than she, but both of them being at least the same rank, although the other woman had the potential to be higher than genin.

With a large smile she cheerfully greeted the woman as she closed the small distance between herself and the gate, “Hello! I am Sakura Yuki and I take it you are my partner for guarding the gate?”

Skipping up the guards of Kirigakure no Sato, Yumi spotted a tall slender young woman, who appeared much older than Yumi's outer appearance. The woman was probably sixteen years of age and would assume Yumi with their twelve year old appearance was younger. In truth though they were actually the same age as the medic was sixteen years of age almost seventeen. But they wouldn't need to know that. Said woman had long golden hair, wearing a purple flowery kimono with white leggings, with black ninja high heels. Yumi would skip up to them, they were much taller than Yumi, towering over them by more than a head, forcing the medic to crane their neck up to meet their gaze.

The little lolita would reveal a bright, charming and innocent smile, that with their snow white beauty could make many swoon at the sight. The lolita was a charming beauty who in their eyes would grow up to be a knock out, if only they knew the truth. The Genin waved and spoke in a bubbly cheerful voice, "Hi, Hi! I'm Yumi Hateshiginai. Nice to meet you. tee hee." The little lolita giggled cutely as they put an index finger to their right cheek, giving an adorable expression. "I'm here to help out and guard the gate!" Proclaimed the adorable little Kunoichi as she gave a little jump where they stood. Their hair bounced up before falling back down to frame their features.

On the inside though, Yumi was gagging with disgust at his own antics, but it was the act he put up to hide his real self. However the medic was slightly intrigued to hear that the woman was a Yuki, this was one of the first meetings he had with a Yuki, well besides the previous Kage Nikuyo but that hadn't gone so well. Yumi was still plotting to kill the old Kage, perhaps poisoning him slowly and agonisingly would be the way. The medic put the thought on the back burner, returning to focus on the 'older' woman with a bright cheery smile. "Let's do our best!" The lolita brought both hands in front of their chest in folded fists, as they adopted a determined pose. The medic then punched the air adorably with their right hand, giving a small jump. They appeared truly determined to do their best at guarding the gates.

The smaller woman flashed her a dashing, naive smile as she craned her neck to meet the honey orbs of the ice woman before waving and excitedly returned her greeting. Sakura made a note to memorize her name, Yumi Hateshiginai. She had never heard of a clan by that name, figuring it was either a lesser known one or not one at all. Either was fine to her as she didn’t care what clan people reigned from, all that mattered was themselves. Sakura chuckled lightly at the adorable child’s antics as she gave her an adorable expression while poking her right cheek with her index finger and verifying that she was indeed meant to guard the gate as well. The action itself made the kunoichi wonder how old the girl was, but she held her tongue against asking for it would be rude of her to do so.

“Awesome! It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Yumi!” The blonde returned the raven haired shinobi’s cheerfulness, watching as she jumped up in the air energetically. The smile never left her face throughout their interaction, warmth and joy radiating off of her. “Yes, let’s do our best!” Yumi folded her fists in front of her before she punched the sky with her right fist and jumped up again, causing a soft giggle to escape Sakura's lips. It was a pleasant surprise to meet someone as animated and determined as she, exuding pride and happiness at being a shinobi of Kirigakure.

Sakura was glad she could spend the day working with someone as optimistic and friendly as Yumi, it would make the task at hand even more fun and enjoyable by having a companion like her around to liven up the job. Even though she doubted their mission would be quite eventful, one never knows what could happen, and the duo could be taken off guard by someone trying to sneak into the village or a shinobi wanting to go rogue from their island home. The possibilities of what they might encounter during the mission was endless, some seemingly unrealistic while others were very likely to occur. Such as typical civilian travelers hoping to be granted access into Kiri to explore what the village has to offer, or shinobi returning home after a long mission abroad.

“What do you like to do for fun, Yumi?” Her sweet voice made small talk as the two began their mission at the gate. She was able to converse due to their lack of current visitors, but their opportunity to talk could instantly change depending on the circumstances.

The woman who had introduced herself as Sakura, seemed to have fallen for Yumi's energetic acts. While it seemed cute, to Yumi on the inside the shinobi wanted to throw up, but was strongly forcing the urge down so not to ruin the image they had created. The act he used for his outer personality was probably one of the bubbliest their was, no one could contend to it. The outer Yumi was so sweet and cute that one could get diabetes just by interacting with her it was just that damn sweet. Everyday Yumi would return him and promptly pass out on the bed from sheer exhaustion. Keeping up this level of energy and personality was incredibly taxing on the real Yumi.

The lolita smiled up at the woman Sakura as she asked what they liked to do for fun. The two of them had time to talk as their hadn't been any signs of anyone approaching the gates at this point in time. It was possible that they would have an uneventful evening. The lolita jumped up and down, "Anone, anone" Spoke the little lolita in a peppy voice before coming to a halt, looking up at the taller 'older' kunoichi with sparkling eyes full of innocence, "I like making new illusions, chemicals seals and medical techniques for fun!" The lolita appeared really excited as they spoke about what they liked to do. For other's it may not seem normal for a little girl to see such areas as fun, but Yumi was a shinobi and what was normal for civilians wasn't normal for them. But this would reveal that Yumi had a pension for Genjutsu, Ijutsu, Chemistry and Fuuinjutsu, four support fields.

"What's fun for you Onee-san!" exclaimed the little lolita, to push the conversation towards what the Yuki found interesting. To add a little extra cuteness, the lolita referred to Sakura as older sister, as a show of endearment.

The blonde kunoichi listened intently to what the smaller one had to say as their eyes connected to each other. Yumi’s eyes were glazed with naivety as most children’s should be, despite her already being a shinobi. Sakura hoped the child would never have to deal with the cruelty in the world, that everything would always be rainbows and butterflies for her young soul. It was then that she answered, stating with excitement lacing her voice, that she enjoyed making illusions, chemical seals, and working with medical techniques. It was shocking for her to see such a young person already well versed in multiple areas whereas she only had two skills where she excelled at currently. One of which they shared in common. Fuuinjutsu, the ability to make seals on anything and anyone for an endless possibility of reasons. Some were for locking things away while others were used to give someone else a boost in power when they need it most.

Yumi’s gleeful voice continued after a very brief pause, inquiring about what the Yuki found to be fun. She even endeared the statement by calling her onee-san, touching the older woman’s heart by the simple word of big sister. It wasn’t every day that a young child grew so attached to her, which caused her smile to widen and her eyes soften warmly.

Her voice was kind with a hint of a loving tone to it, the kind that a sister would use towards her younger sibling,“I also like to make seals, although I don’t use chemistry with mine, and I like to turn water into anything, like myself for example.” Sakura didn’t mind revealing her skill set was for fuuinjutsu and ninjutsu, especially since the latter was something most people would’ve expected her to have due to her clan’s signature ice release.


She paused for a couple moments to give Yumi a chance to ask her any questions or tell her anything she wanted to since they shared a common interest that could’ve piqued the raven haired girl’s interest. If nothing was said after she finished answering about her own hobbies then she would prompt another question to help her get to know the other shinobi better. “What do you like to do with the seals you create if I may ask, Yumi-chan?”

It seemed the girl had fallen for the act, going to the extent of using a kind loving tone. The use of calling the Yuki big sister had a devastating effect that made the internal Yumi chuckle with glee. This woman seemed incredibly trusting to simply accept, Yumi calling her onee-san. Didn't this woman realise that Yumi was also a Kunoichi just like them and everything they did was not to be trusted at face value. For now Yumi continued to play the part of the 'little sister' acting cute and being dotted on by those older than they.

The information Yumi collected, from the woman that she to liked seals while practising ninjutsu to turn things into water, like them self, they filed the information away. Yumi tended to file away everything they learned for later, you never knew when something you learnt could be useful. "What do I like to do with my seals?" said the Kunoichi repeating the question asked in their innocent voice. "A variety of cool things!" said the shinobi with a bounce in their step and voice full of pep. "I like making storage seals. Weapon control seals. Barriers, Formations, chakra storing seals and chakra absorption seals!" mouthed off the tiny medic there eyes sparkling with youthful innocence.

"Neh, Neh Onee-san, do you think we'll run into any bad people today?" enquired the cute little lolita as they poked their index fingers together. "They scare me." The lolita would add looking up with a hint of fear reflected within those big red hues.

Time would pass by uneventfully for Yumi, ticking away as they guarded the front gate in relative boredom. Now and then the Medic speak up to the Yuki, asking her questions and sometimes getting a response, or not. Other times Yumi would talk to the people passing through the gate, asking them questions about why they were in Kirigakure, occupation, name, age and similar questions, even going off on a tangent and just talking to them to pass the time. As the time for them to finish finally approach, Yumi jumped for joy.

The medic would have the new guards sign the Mission saying they took over, saying their goodbyes before racing towards the Mission tower to hand in a job well done. Yumi raced through the village eager to receive their funds for the Job so they could buy more chemical supplies. Yumi was in a good mood as they received their payment for the job and left, heading to the nearest shinobi supply store.
