The Ice Prince would release a small sigh as his sharp yet tired eyes scanned over the small sushi bar that he found himself in. He would take one of the seats closest to the door, his back to the wall and allowing him to see most of what was happening in the small building. Perhaps he was being a little paranoid, seeing as he was sitting in one of the many sushi bars in the Kirigakure market district, but that was just how he had been raised. ‘Only fools and dead men let their guards down around potential enemies’ had been one of his father’s favourite sayings whilst he had been growing up, and whether he had actually intended it or not the phrase had become quite deeply ingrained within the psyche of the Ice Prince. The older man had probably not been expecting Shin to see the people of Kirigakure as potential foes… but the knowledge would likely not surprise the man either, as he knew better than most that Shin saw everyone as potential foes… his allies most of all.
It was for that reason that he disliked the assignment he had been given earlier in the day… but he had been expecting such an assignment to come the moment that he had been promoted to Jounin. But in the end, no matter how much he disliked the assignment he would do his duty and complete it… just as he had many times in the past. The naturally pale young man would signal over one of the waiters, a polite smile fixed upon his face as he did so. When the teen arrived the Jounin would order a rather large platter of sushi to be brought to his table, along with a small assortment of drinks. The small would fade from Shin’s face as the waiter left him to deliver the order to the kitchen, and he would simply wait for his guests to arrive. All three would have been informed by either their guardians or a messenger that their presence was expected in this restaurant at 3pm, exactly ten minutes from now.
“Hehe... what a joke” the young man would chuckle to himself quietly, although the chuckle was eerily devoid of humour.
Who the hell had thought it was a good idea for him to be the leader of a group of Genin?
