    Title: N/A

    Stats

    • Strength: D
    • Constitution: D
    • Stamina: D
    • Speed: D
    • Coordination: D
    • Intelligence: D
    • Perception: D

    Unique Abilities:
Merchant Family: As a Sumisu clan member, Savarin has a 50% discount buying tools or raw materials in any major village, but is expected to give 25% of his income to the clan.

Slow Moving Puppetry:  When Savarin is using kugutsu, he is focused on moving objects, not himself. To this end, when utilizing kugutsu, his speed decreases by one rank.  For the purposes of learning and utilizing kugutsu techniques, his coordination also counts as one rank higher.

One-handed Seals: Pretty straightforward. A player may weave hand seals with only one hand. This results in a one tier loss of Coordination for that hand regarding hand seals.

Crafting Expertise: Savarin may craft an item one rank higher than what their current experience or skill set allows. This can result in a 50% increase in price for material.

Investment Opportunities: Savarin may invest a sum of money and expect returns to a maximum of 5% per month. The player must roll a 1d10 to determine the outcome of the success.  An outcome of 6-10 means that the investment failed and all of the money is lost, but an outcome of 1-5 means a successful investment and 5% of that money is paid to her once per month, permanently.

Appearance: Sumisu Savarin has short cropped blonde hair that spills over pale red eyes when he’s been too busy to get a haircut.  The broad shouldered youth is surprisingly muscular for a 12 year old, mostly due to his early years helping out in the Sumisu forgebanks.  Another result of this are calloused and dexterous hands, as well as scars of burns long healed along his arms.  He always tends to smell faintly of iron and coke, as if the years at the forgebanks have permeated his very being.  The young teen often gets told that he will be huge (like most of his family) when he hits his growth spurt.

History: Sumisu Savarin is the grandson of the Sumisu elder in the Land of Lightning.  His parents are Sumisu Hanako, the elder’s daughter, and a powerful shinobi in her own right; and Sumisu Toru, a savvy businessman who married into the clan.  As part of the lineage of the elder, Savarin has grown up with both pressure and privilege.

Even as a child in the academy, his time was split between learning the basic shinobi skills and working in the Land of Lightning Forgebank.  Even before he learned to shape metal with chakra, Savarin loved his time work at the smithy, hammering a piece of raw iron into a usable kunai or shuriken always satisfied him.

All-in-all, Savarin’s childhood was high-stress, but happy and relatively uneventful.  His life basically consisted training in all aspects of the life of a Sumisu shinobi; social skills, combat skills, stealth skills, financial skills, and crafting skills.  Savarin graduated in the upper end of his academy class, and looks forward to meeting his jounin.

Personality: Despite being forged in hard work through his childhood in the Sumisu clan, Savarin is fairly laid back.  He puts forth effort when effort is required, but rarely more than is necessary to truly excel in routine tasks.  That being said, he will throw himself into any task he greatly enjoys; the most obvious of these being metalwork, he enjoys both the craft and seeing the products of his labor in use.  For a young teen, Savarin is stoic and tends to view material possessions as fleeting; Sumisu create masterworks, then turn around and sell them to the highest bidder.  Things that cannot be repaired can be scrapped and turned into new things.

Like things, Savarin tends to view his relationships with individuals outside of his clan as fleeting and ephemeral.  Savarin was as selected as a future representative of the main house of the clan and is friendly enough, though it is more the superficial charm of a salesman than any true desire for friendship.  That is not to say he doesn’t desire long term allies or real friendships, but the young Sumisu will generally rely more on his clan than on anyone else.

Savarin is extremely loyal to his clan and follows the ideals.  When a Sumisu makes an agreement, their word is their bond.  When two Sumisu clansmen would clash on opposite sides of a conflict (such as when one Sumisu is on a mission from Konohakagure, and another is on a conflicting mission from Amegakure) the younger Sumisu is expected to submit to the more senior member of the clan.

    Roleplay Sample:
Savarin lay back on the grass, watching the dark clouds roll overhead; he was supposed to be meeting the rest of his team here, but they hadn’t arrived yet.  His right hand was held out in front of him, and thin golden strings reached towards the sky.  At the end of those chakra strings were three different weapons; a kunai, a shortsword, and a smith’s hammer, lazily drifting along with the clouds like strange metal kites.  Kugutsu wasn’t the standard for Sumisu, but Savarin’s take on the art wasn’t exactly standard either.

The boy loved weapons of all kinds, and spent time at the forge trying to make or design new ones (with varying degrees of success).  His mother had tried to train him in the Sumisu taijutsu art, but he wasn’t having it.  Limiting himself to a single weapon seemed like such a waste.  He had first learned about kugutsu from a wandering shinobi, and he caught onto the basics pretty quickly.  Puppets themselves were of no interest to him, but he figured out a way to use his naturally yang-focused chakra to connect and manipulate weapons with ease.

Savarin’s fingers twitched and twisted as the weapons danced in the air, weaving circles around each other in some intricate and wild dance.  He hadn’t tested it in any combat; he had only recently graduated from the academy, after all, but he imagined that the style he had developed would definitely be functional in combat.  The young Sumisu thought he heard someone coming, and yanked his hand back as he stood; the weapons flew towards him with the motion, coming to rest on their appropriate spots as he looked to see if his team had arrived.
