For some odd reason the hidden leaf village was bustling with activity. At least odd as in more activity than usual. Perhaps the folk were preparing for the upcoming summer? Rin had thought it might be the case, and he’s been working with the blacksmith for quite a while now. However for some reason Rin can’t shake the feeling that something else was going on.
As per usual Rin has been attending to the shop as the clerk while the master blacksmith works in the back majority of the time. By this point Rin had spent months selling off Hitsuro’s pieces to whoever needs them. It is mostly selling tools to the common folk, and of course the occasional ‘customer’ would waltz in and try to haggle him. Yet Rin is always strict on the pricing he was given by Hitsuro that he wouldn’t back down from the original price. Some of them even attempted to barter him with another tool that had a shiny polish. Yet one look is all Rin needed to see the nicks and bent metal on the tool that he outright denied them.
Rin was actually twirling a kunai between his fingers as he was kind of bored watching the small crowd in the shop. Each one asking the price on various items including weapons. Each one Rin swiftly responded correctly without glancing up. It wasn’t exactly to say that he wasn’t paying much attention for he’s actually got his sensory up so he can detect everybody in the building and a few meters away from the shop. Of course one poor fool attempted to actually steal from the shop and with a flick of the boy’s wrist the kunai went flying to stab the fabric of the thief’s shirt and pin it onto the doorframe. With surprising ease, Rin rounded up the thief as some were actually surprised a twelve year old picked up a grown man and wrestled the stolen item free.
Rin didn’t care what they thought as he sat the would-be thief on a stool at a corner with bare metal of a katana held only an inch from the man’s neck. Eventually the patrolling jonin came and apprehend the thief from Rin. Which turned everything back to normal as he was dealing people left and right with swift accuracy yet it was tiresome too. Rin honestly wishes that his sensei, Tsuyo Hyuga, would hurry back from her mission. He’s been eager for another training session as last time was horrible in his opinion. At the same time Rin has grown exceptionally as well. For the past month Rin’s warm black hair has slightly grown to where it is at shoulder length now.
Now the boy has to pull his hair into a short low tail to keep the hair out of his face. Yet the bangs would often frame his face. He didn’t mind that it had grown though for it wasn’t hindering his sight. If anything he felt like maybe his skills were becoming rusty. That is not to say that the young genin has not been training since Tsuyo has been gone. It is just that there really hasn’t been any sparring partners so Rin doesn’t know if he has truly improved or not.
