Where on O'uzu Island is Kaori? Empty Where on O'uzu Island is Kaori?

Hibiki's boots crunched against the gravel as she walked across the rugged terrain of the island. Her outfit was a mixture of practical training gear and something just a little too tight in certain places, but it didn't matter right now. She wasn't concerned with appearances—she was here with a purpose.

The cool breeze tugged at her hair, making the pale strands dance in the wind, but her mind was too preoccupied to notice the scenery. She had a task at hand, and it was one that weighed heavily on her chest. She could feel the cold weight of the news she had to share with Karoi hanging on her, and a part of her wished she could just leave it unsaid.

But that wasn’t going to happen.

Her gaze flicked to the sky. Innocence was gone. Killed during the exams. The same exams they were all supposed to be pushing through, proving themselves in front of the world. The same exams Karoi had been kicked out of in the first round, and now Hibiki had to deliver news she wasn't sure how Karoi would take.

It was hard enough to wrap her head around it herself—Innocence, who was like a friend, gone in an instant. But if there was one thing Hibiki knew about Karoi, it was that the girl could take some dark news with a certain grim satisfaction, especially if it was a blow to someone she considered a rival. Would she laugh? Would she cry? Hibiki had no idea, but she had to say it.

A deep breath. She had been trying to push it down, but it wasn’t working.

But there was another reason she was searching the island, and that reason made her focus her thoughts even more. Doton jutsu. Karoi had done that dome thing back in a prevision training session. Hibiki hadn’t gotten to see the full extent of it, but what she did see had impressed her. It would help in the finals, make her an even tougher opponent.

"Where is she?" Hibiki muttered under her breath, glancing around the rocky expanse. She had no idea where Karoi would be hiding out after her early exit from the exams, but she had a feeling the girl would be lurking somewhere close by.

Her eyes scanned the surroundings, her body stilling as she tried to listen for any sign of movement. There was no reason to rush this; she just had to find Karoi, and once she did, well… then everything would come spilling out, whether she was ready for it or not.

Kaori was, as Hibiki predicted, off in a rocky landscape. She was sitting at the moment, staring off into the distance as she took a little break from the training she'd been doing. Getting eliminated hadn't really hampered her all that much, considering she didn't really care that much about her rank, but she was a little annoyed that she wasn't able to fight some of the other contestants.

There were a few she'd been looking forward to fighting. Once it came down to it though, she was certain the individual matches where they could watch from the sidelines would be the best for her. It was easier to gather information on fights that way, and now she needn't worry about anyone knowing how she fought. Perhaps it was for the best. She'd debated going after the proctors and taking them out. Still might, but no need to draw attention just yet.

For the moment, she was still, but when Hibiki entered her sensory range, Kaori instantly picked up her familiar signature. Standing up, she let out a sharp whistle, followed by an exuberant, "Hey, Hibiki! Over here!" to let the other girl know where she was. There was a pretty decently sized plateau separating each other from direct lines of sight, but that was okay. She liked the privacy when she was training. Less chances for people to spy on her.

The area she was training in looked like a warzone had gone off. Craters filled the area, broken pillars and rocks littered the ground. It was clear that she'd been out here for a while putting in the work.

Where on O'uzu Island is Kaori? Empty Re: Where on O'uzu Island is Kaori?

Here’s the revised version with the requested tags added to Hibiki's dialogue:

Hibiki's head snapped up at the sharp whistle, her heart leaping at the sound of Kaori's voice. "Hey!" she shouted back, her voice brimming with excitement. In her eagerness, she forgot the heavier reason for her search, bounding up and over the rocky plateau as if the jagged terrain wasn’t even there.

When she landed on the other side, her wide eyes took in the scene before her—craters, shattered pillars, and chunks of earth scattered everywhere. Kaori stood amidst the destruction, looking completely unbothered, and Hibiki couldn’t help but let out an impressed whistle of her own.

“Wow, you’ve sure been working hard!” Hibiki said, staring at the chaos. “Do you think they’re gonna make you pay for redecorating when you’re done?” she teased, her grin wide.

The joke brought a spark of warmth to Hibiki’s chest, but it also reminded her why she was here. Her smile faltered for a moment, and she hesitated, her mouth opening and closing before she finally blurted out, “I’m sorry I couldn’t do more to keep you from getting thrown out of the exams.”

Hibiki pressed on, her words coming fast. “That bone lady—uh, I forgot her name, but she was so mean! I tried to get your expulsion rescinded, y’know? I argued and everything. ” Hibiki threw her hands up dramatically, pacing as she talked. “But nobody backed me up—not Sera, and not even Nao. I mean, my fiancé! You’d think he’d have my back, right?”

Hibiki froze mid-step, her hand flying to her mouth. “Oh crap,” she said, her voice muffled behind her fingers. “I wasn’t supposed to say that yet.” Her face flushed red as she looked at Kaori, her hands flailing in a panic. “Please don’t tell my big sister! I was saving it as a surprise after the exams!”

Trying to move past that snafu Hibiki continued. “Anyway, uh, I came here to ask for your help. For the finals,” she said, her tone growing serious. “I can’t learn anything more advanced than C-rank jutsu on my own. You’re way better at Doton than I am, and that dome thing you did? That was awesome. If you could teach me something like that, I’d owe you big time.”

She shifted awkwardly, scratching the back of her head. “Most of the Konoha group made it to the third round. Sera’s probably the most dangerous of us…well, after you, of course,” she added sincerely. “She’s scary good when she’s serious.”

Hibiki’s cheerful demeanor dimmed as her thoughts turned elsewhere. “And then there are the Kiri ninja. I’m sure they both made it to the finals. There’s this little girl with knives—she’s quick, but it’s the tattooed guy that really worries me.” Her voice dropped, her eyes flicking to Kaori. “We kind of met him during the first stage of the exam, remember? He uses illusions.”

Her voice grew softer, her unease showing. “Illusions mess with your senses, right? I think I could fight without sight or sound, but both? I don’t know. And the worst part is…” She swallowed hard, her hands clenching into fists. “He killed Innocence. Sliced her in half underground with some water jutsu.”

Hibiki’s voice broke as she continued, her words spilling out in a mix of guilt and horror. “There was…there was so much blood. Like a geyser. I didn’t even know a body could have that much blood.” Her shoulders slumped, and she looked at the ground. “I ran. I abandoned her body and ran because I was outnumbered. I didn’t have a choice, but it still feels wrong.”

The faintest of whispers brushed against her mind then, carrying a familiar teasing tone. “You always were a coward, Hibiki.”

Hibiki’s head snapped up, her eyes darting around as she stammered, “What—who said that?!”
