Kitsuki sat at a fully furnished table on a balcony overlooking the beautiful misty city of Kirigakure. She had told her favorite rooftop luncheon spot to reserve the the entire place for herself and Arisu. Money was no object. The seemingly endless fiscal growth under the Princess's tenure had made her one of the wealthiest women in the world.
Kit was famished but she waited until her colleague arrived before digging in. She was sure that even an alien could appreciate this delicious spread. The WASP had taught her all of the essentials that were expected at high tea. Delicate finger sandwiches (sans the crusts of course) of every variety were laid out on beautiful high plates; lemon cakes, carrot cakes, and sweet tarts were in abundance; caviar, imported eggs and delicate fish pastries sat in wait under golden dish covers; and most importantly, three pots of boiling hot tea (jasmine, black and earl grey) were prepared with every other conceivable kind just a waiter's call away.
Kitsuki passed the time looking at the faint lights of the city below. The mist was heavier closer to the ground which made things more pleasant for those above it. Kit saw this as a metaphor for how the real world often worked. Those with the greatest amount of power tended to be the most insulated from crises, while those with the least struggled to keep what little they had in the face of disaster. The Bijuu attack had shaken the city and though Kitsuki had seen to it that reconstruction efforts began immediately, she knew that she could not instantly restore what was lost. Business...Homes....Lives.... Kitsuki lamented. She couldn't undo what Matatabi had done but she could build back better. She could ensure that the next time disaster struck, the people would be even better defended than before. She was certain Arisu agreed. It was why the two Princesses worked so well together.
