Beat On The Brat

Mission Description:

Zakuro rolled her shoulders as she waited for her mission partner. The indicated meeting spot was a road sign only a few miles outside of Konohagakure no Sato itself, and in turn only a mile or so from the merchant's estate. Zakuro racked her brain. Had she ever been there before? The name on the mission description hadn't sounded familiar. The Kuroyanagi were merchants themselves, and the redhead had no doubt that the estate would look identical to the sort she'd grown up in.

Idly, Zakuro adjusted the forehead protector around her left bicep as she waited. It felt more familiar there now than it had in the days past. She had, in turn, left her weapon of choice at home. This was meant to be a training fight, and her heavy kanabo wasn't suited for friendly love taps. The merchant likely wouldn't take it kindly if the genin shattered his son's knees. Granted, with Zakuro's physical strength, that might still happen. She just had to remind herself to hold back. Surely it'd all be fine.

Ningyo made her way to the rendevous site linking up with her mission partner, who limited from intel was identified as a fresh academy graduate. When the waiting Genin entered into Ningyo's field of vision, her first impression was of her robust nature and developed physique. She waved to her mission partner with a friendly nonchalance, as she stepped closer. "Hi, Ningyo Uchiha, Hidden Leaf; Genin." she said laconically introducing herself in a friendly tone. Ningyo herself appeared as a thin, 5'4" teenager in black tactical clothes, with a variety of weapons and ammunition hung on her hips and slung over her shoulder, including a crossbow and collapsible fuuma shuriken.

From what she understood, the mission specified indulging the caprice of the son of a local merchant. In this case the two Genin had been contracted to test his skills. They were to meet along the thoroughfare by the road sign and make their way to the local merchant's house. Once they had travelled to the estate the mission dictated that they display their combat skills to the merchant's son without seriously hurting him.

Ningyo glanced over the fellow Genin assigned with her for this mission. She attempted to make some small talk, to allow herself to trace an outline of her physically gifted partner's personality "What do you think, does this boy with his spear stand a chance against us?" After a piece of conversation Ningyo would leap away into the trees, making her way rapidly from limb to limb. She would head in the general direction of the family estate of the boy.

After some light travel she would appear at the door of a large palatial compound, simple, but also indicative of rural wealth. Passing large gardens and trellises of grapes she would make her way to the front door of the main house. She used a large iron knocker held by a ring in iron shaped into lion's mouth to bang on the heavy wooden door of the stone manor. Not receiving an immediate response she returned to the courtyard beyond the front gate, where she assumed she would be waiting with her new friend.

After some time the door creaked open and a serving maid would peep her head out of the door, answering, "Hello, who do I have the pleasure to say is calling?"

Ningyo would answer from the courtyard "The pair of Genin have arrived to test the young master's skills with the spear." she would say. With this the servant would scurry inside to fetch their contractor.

Ningyo would wait with her friend in the courtyard until the duelist arrived. As usual, she remained relatively alert in a balanced stance. She scanned the area of the estate, with quiet disinterest, in a moderately alert way, not really expecting any tricks, but only from the habit of caution that is etched into the instincts of a young Genin with continuous mission activity.

She awaited the arrival of the young merchant with a sort of vigilant poise and disciplined silence. "I wasn't briefed on your capabilities but, so you know, I think we'll be reprimanded if we kill him. I guess we're just supposed to humor him for a while."
