Not, Not a Scouting Mission

Mission:

Nakaba would pop up behind the 5th monkey quietly, the little escape artists had been all over the the academic district, and the little bastard had been hiding in a tiny nook in a brick and mortar bookshop. Snatching it up by the back of its shirt, Nakaba made his way back to the zoo looking over the monkey and noting any scratches or injuries that the critter had before the genin snatched it up. It dangled limply in his hand like it either knew there was no reason to resist or it was glad for the free ride back home. Nakaba was going to pretend that it was the former.

It felt like he’d been doing overhire work that government employees normally would. It’s true that that system likely included him, but when he saw that he might be doing ‘field work’ tending to crops was definitely not what he thought was going to be some of his assigned duties. Had there really been any difference between this and his time incarcerated. No. That’s how the old me would think. He looked around. He was free and would never be bound again. Confirming with the handler, Nakaba would hand the little bastard off to the zoo before getting the portrait of the sixth monkey.

The monkey in the picture had an adorably big hat and a bow tie that was almost twice as big. Nakaba, with a blank expression, lowered the picture. The 'monkey' in front of him was a 6'2, <1% body fat silverback blankly staring at him pinky in its nose. Now this. This is some Grade A bullshit. Looking at the picture the bowtie and hat were surprisingly to scale, looking like a thimble and loose pasta on the great ape's massive frame. Nakaba would return to the zoo, swollen like he'd gotten into a fight with a hive of bees. behind him in a small cart was the gorilla bound and struggling. Nakaba would set the cart in front of the zookeeper and wordlessly leave.
