- Chemical Immunity: For years Yumi has used his own body as a test subject when it comes to poisons, drugs, medicines and other noxious potentially even toxic chemicals. Due to the slow build up over years of testings, Yumi has developed an immunity to his creations allowing him to use them without harm to himself.
- Chemistry Expertise: Yumi is an amateur in the field of chemical concoctions, his favourite field the study of poisons and drugs, primarily poisons. Investing time and energy day in and day out during his small lifespan has allowed him to create toxins well above his scope of expertise, one ranked higher. This results in an increased countdown period of .5 for cooldowns on poisons concocted one rank above Yumi's skill.
- Genjutsu Specialist: As an avid user and practitioner of the illusion arts, Yumi has spent countless waking hours honing and perfecting what little skill in the art of Illusions he possesses. This honed ability allows him to become inherently stronger in one area while weaker in another. As a result, this allows him to learn Genjutsu outside of his class allowance but with the drawback of expending larger amounts of chakra (.5 on top of cost) to perform said technique.
Appearance: Yumi has what can be considered a bizarre, perhaps even awkward appearance, born with a natural feminine figure and charm to a point he can be mistaken for a girl. Yumi lacks all masculine features, such as a distinct lack of Adam's apple. Naturally short at only four foot ten inches (4'10") with a lithe, petite figure weighing in at only eighty-eight pounds (88lbs) and snow white skin so soft to the touch it feels like a babies. Lustrious silky black locks that descends down his back reaching his hips with strands cascading down his front, cut at the forehead hime (princess) style, matched only by illuminating crimson red hues that shimmer and shine like diamonds hiding behind long dainty black eyelashes. All of this accompanied with tiny hands, feet, slender legs and hips all the more aligning to his feminine appearance. Add to the fact Yumi is comfortable wearing lipstick, nail polish and makeup with his look to accompany a charming smile all to create the illusion of a softly spoken, young lady.
To pair with his appearance no matter where he goes though Yumi is always immaculately dressed not a hair out of place, or crease in his clothing. The type of apparel Yumi chooses to adorn himself in is traditional wear, that of a kimono or yukata for everyday use. His headband is tied around his waist covered by an obi sash to hide it from view. Hiding his symbol as a shinobi and his apparel helps to create the appearance of a civilian. Any weapons he will attempt to hide with the use of holsters beneath the sleeves of his kimono, in his hair or even in his obi sash.
History: 914 A.S just four years after Kirigakure was formed, two years after Iwagakure, Yumi was born in the slowly growing village hidden away in the mist. Yumi was born to a pair of wandering doctors who had been born amongst the modern era, avoiding the warrings clans and states keeping to themselves. While making their way through Mizu, no Kuni Yumi's mother had fallen pregnant with him, and his father decided it was time to make a proper home. The two came to Kirigakure no Sato and settled down making their own home in 913 A.S. His father set up a clinic in their own home, offering serviceable health care for all. His father may not have possessed knowledge of chakra, but he was a practitioner of medicine having studied science to help cure the sick and health the wounded.
Born in 914 A.S was Yumi, a small baby boy to mother Hateshiginai Oishi and father Hateshiginai Yora. Yumi was born a small feminine child that at first, his parents thought he was a girl when they gazed at his twinkling red hues and dainty facial features, naming him Yumi, before realising he was a boy, by then the name had stuck. Yumi was spoiled as a child by his parents, being their only child as his parents had struggled for years just to have him, a genetic condition on his mother's side, because of this Yumi was cherished like a treasure. One could consider Yumi a mother's boy as he always clung to his mother's leg following behind her every step. He took after her in every way, following her like a duckling. With his feminine appearance, his father always made sure Yumi dressed in appropriate male clothing attempting to make his son appear more masculine.
Yumi, as he grew older, become interested in the ways of the shinobi a spark began to form. Interest grew as he grabbed whatever scrolls and books he could on the shinobi life, later joining the academy at seven. By the age of eight, he was fascinated by the concept and began branching out studying the different techniques and abilities a shinobi should possess, finding a unique aptitude for illusions. The field of medicine also caught his eye, and he began studying under his father in his families clinic. At nine he had his first encounter with dangerous chemicals. While on his own he settled into his father's lab and began playing with the interesting liquids he found, pouring them into one another until a deadly reaction occurred blowing him into a wall. Most children would perhaps form a scar in their heart, shying away but not Yumi the explosion riled him up and he found a new pleasure and began tinkering around with chemicals he knew not off.
This began setting Yumi down a slippery slope as he became invested in the world of noxious and dangerous chemicals, drugs, compounds and medicines. He would read his fathers journals, hunt down books at the library all to fill the void for knowledge he desired. He persuaded his parents at age ten, having been studying at the Kirigakure academy for some years now, to buy him a chemistry set and turn his room into his laboratory. It took many weeks before they caved. The crazed feminine child locked himself in his room and began all matter of insane experiments mixing toxic chemicals and fusing them together. His room started to smell of noxious vapours as he started creating poisons. Inhaling these chemicals day in and day out began to twist his personality, reshaping him. He was becoming mad with the desire for knowledge. Yumi made great accomplishments in the field of chemicals, creating poisons, drugs, medicines and compounds for his use but the damage to his psyche had been done.
A damaged psyche opened up an entirely new world for Yumi as he began seeing things differently. His mind had opened up and with this new experience began to enhance his capabilities. Yumi with his opened mind was creating new medicines, poisons and drugs while experimenting in the art of illusions; he found it all so fascinating, this all would eventually become a dangerous tool under his belt. His damaged psyche allowed him to see how own appearance for what it was and an ingenious spark formed. In that instance he abandoned all form of masculinity, horrifying his father, and began dressing like a girl. Yumi in his private laboratory/room would read on female mannerisms and techniques, followed by books on acting to perfect his skills. He wanted the world to think he was a girl, the ultimate deception. He studied music, calligraphy, art, dance, zither and etiquette all to perfect his technique. Though it was all to deceive, Yumi became fond of wearing silk kimono's and yukata's designed for women.
The damage done to his psyche began to worry his parents, and when Yumi was twelve, they attempted to fix the problem that had been created. Yumi laughed at them; he couldn't see the issue, he went mad saying they were trying to stop him from rising to great heights. In his madness, he threw a vial down onto his bedroom floor, and a toxic vapour wafted into the air, modified hydrogen sulfide. This colourless toxic gas had been altered by Yumi, the moment it was exposed to air would grow rapidly. A small cloud the size of a palm grew the moment it was released consuming the entire household. The moment the gas was breathed in Yumi's parents began to collapse as the effects of the chemical began to act. The powerful smell the moment it was inhaled cut off the centre of the brain that dealt with breathing asphyxiating the two. Yumi from having spent years testing the chemicals on himself had allowed him to build an immunity. Yumi could only watch on laughing in a deranged manner while shouting 'It works. it works!'. Yumi felt no remorse for what he had done, perhaps if he had never begun his experiments his parents would still be alive. Yumi melted the bodies down with acid and returned to his experiments. When questioned he simply claimed they had died in a chemical accident during one of his experiments when the vial had exploded.
By age thirteen he had graduated the academy becoming a fully fledged genin. Now with a stable pay in the form of missions he bought an apartment, setting a single room aside as his laboratory and returned to his experiments in peace. When he wasn't experimenting in his laboratory or making new Genjutsu or even medical techniques to further his lust for knowledge, Yumi was studying the various shinobi arts, primarily the art of deception. Now at sixteen, he considers himself ready to take on the world and show them his art form.
Personality:
Trickster: Yumi is a trickster, always hiding his true face, feelings and motives. He looks to deceive the world by pretending to be what he is not, an act for all the world to see. His act is that of a happy, softly spoken noble young girl of only sixteen years of age. He will speak in a sweet soft spoken voice to sooth those who hear it, attempting to lull them into a false sense of security. With a flutter of long eyelashes or a touch of a hand is not above him to achieve his goal. In this mask, he is not above seducing both men and women, though loathing the touch of a man at every turn. Yumi's mask will switch personalities at the drop of a hat depending on the situation and scenario.
Deranged: Hidden beneath the sweet mask Yumi wears is a deranged and twisted young man, created by years of exposure and using his own body as a test subject for countless toxic chemicals. Who would sooner wish to see the world burn if it meant to obtain the knowledge he seeks. All he cares about is his experiments whether it be Illusions, medicines, poisons, drugs or other nasty chemical concoctions he can think of. Yumi isn't against going against the morals of the world, as he has none whatsoever. All he cares about his knowledge. Yumi would even sacrifice his comrades to test out a new experiment, using them as test subjects if he thought it would lead to a new accomplishment. One can never tell what is going through that brain of his eyes.
Scientific Mind: Within that deranged mind of Yumi's is one of science. Quick-witted and analytical, but still twisted, a mad scientist, all wrapped beneath the mask that is the smile of a charming young woman.
