A MAD SCIENTIST'S RESEARCH SAGA PT. 9 (NIKOLA, SOLO)

It had been a while since Nikola's latest adventures. These had come in the form of yet another training session he undertook at the Grand Konoha Training Facility. Since then, Nikola had once again gotten back to his usual daily routine of assisting his parents with their business ventures, accompanying them to various high society events and mingling with the other attendees of said events, and of course, his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research, both of the generic sort and also more specifically of the ninja arts variety, with the latter being focused especially on the study of ever more efficient means of commanding and directing the Aburame insects dwelling inside him as well as the study of how to improve this entomological arsenal for his benefit and for that of his Aburame clan in general

Hmm...now that I have learned the theory regarding the execution of these new jutsu, perhaps it is time for another training session at that one center...

Nikola mused thus silently as he stirred from beneath the veritable mountain of research notes that were current piled up high in his residence/research lab in the Aburame clan compound on this particular day. After managing to drag himself out, he rose to his feet and proceeded to ready himself in his usual work attire, this being specifically comprised of his standard researcher's outfit and with his various pieces of ninja gear equipped to various strategically chosen areas on his person along with his insect reserves confirmed properly. Then, after informing his family's support staff of his potential whereabouts and intended destinations for the day, he set out to once again to the Grand Konoha Training Facility so that he could master the various jutsu on his field testing agenda for the day. Once there, he borrowed some training equipment from the on-site store, then chose a quiet, isolated spot in one of the rooms to set himself down and mentally prepared himself for the imminent start to his field testing session

Hmm...now then, what would be the best order to start testing these new jutsu I learned of in, I wonder? Maybe...Ijutsu: Chakra Palm...followed by Ijutsu: Reverse Chakra...and then, once those are done...perhaps...

Nikola mused thus silently as he pondered about which jutsu to begin with, and after thinking about the matter for a bit, ultimately, he decided to go with field testing the Ijutsu: Chakra Palm first. To that end, he reviewed the jutsu's performance steps mentally

Hmm...so this is a technique that is meant to allow the user to heal various basic ailments such as burns and even frostbite, eh?...It sounds simple enough to perform, though, I do suppose I will have to experiment on myself for convenience sake to avoid expending the effort of going to track down a lab rat from the facility's staff...

With that thought in mind, Nikola set up a flamethrower device to induce the burns along with a liquid nitrogen spraying device to induce frostbite, both set to the lowest levels of stream intensity to emulate the range of ailments for this jutsu. After that, he activated the flamethrower first and then, he extended his forearm till it was within the device's range and watched as the low-strength stream of fire coming from the device caused a first-degree burn on his forearm. Once that was done, he turned the flamethrower off, stepped back, and held the palm of the other hand over the burn wound on his afflicted arm while focusing his chakra and turning into the requisite medical chakra. Subsequently, he focused his consciousness on the medical chakra gathered in his palm and then flowed it onto the burn wound on his afflicted arm while studying the results closely

Hmm...so, just as the jutsu scroll described, this jutsu is indeed capable of curing burns, this time of 1st degree intensity...and it does not cost much to execute, either...this is quite a useful jutsu, indeed...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared himself to do more trial runs with the Ijutsu: Chakra Palm that he had set himself to learning now. To that end, he proceeded to test the effects of this jutsu on induced frostbite by first activating the liquid nitrogen sprayer device and allowing it to stream said liquid over his newly cured forearm, again at the lowest intensity for this first round trial run. After the frostbite had set in, he then repeated performance of the Ijutsu: Chakra Palm on the new affliction and discovered that once again, the jutsu worked to fully cure basic frostbite just as the scroll had described to him. Then, after committing this data to memory, he proceeded to the next round of trial runs for his field testing of the Ijutsu: Chakra Palm, namely, intensifying the stream strength to cause a greater level of burn and frostbite injury to his forearm that he was using as a specimen for this field test.

Alas, Nikola found that the jutsu could not cure anything but the most basic level of each ailment and upon testing whether it could heal damage from any non-ailment related injuries, he found that, once again as the scroll described, the jutsu was incapable of healing said damage. Consequently, he had to resort to using the medical kit supplied to him by the training facility instead to heal these higher intensity and non-ailment injuries. Additionally, he found that he could employ the jutsu from either palm, and after committing all this new data to memory, he then simply proceeded onward to the last phase of his field testing of the Ijutsu: Chakra Palm, namely, the repetitive performance of this jutsu to build up the mental memory and muscle memory for it to the required level to have finished  learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the Ijutsu: Chakra Palm  and then stopped to review the data he had gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the Ijutsu: Reverse Chakra Palm next

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to execute a precisely timed, surgical strike to some area of a target's body with focused chakra which has not been converted into medical chakra to debilitate them, eh?...This is yet another useful medical ninjutsu just like the Soft Body Manipulation series and the Chakra Palm I learned before now...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after finishing his plan of how to field test this jutsu, he proceeded to execute said plan. Naturally, he did not want to bother with asking the facility to lend him a training partner, or as he like to refer to them, lab rats to use in his field testing. So, he decided to use himself as his guinea pig for said field test instead. To that end, he focused his chakra into the palm of his right hand first and then jabbed his fingers into his left forearm to flow the gathered chakra in a surgically precise manner and observed the effects. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because the target was myself and I willfully struck myself...while in battle, it would be much more difficult to aim and hit a chosen opponent properly...now to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...on another note, this jutsu seems to enhance the physical prowess of the user to some degree for the purposes of executing this surgical strike, so it could be useful in other ways too, I suppose...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the Ijutsu: Reverse Chakra Palm that he set himself to learning now. Through these next few, once again, he tested the jutsu to see which palm would be better to use if any, but he ended up finding no difference in the force of his strikes, but he did discover that the debilitating effect could indeed be accrued with consecutive strikes with the Ijutsu: Reverse Chakra Palm to the same body part target. Then, he proceeded onto the final phase of his field testing of the Ijutsu: Reverse Chakra Palm Specifically, this was the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the Ijutsu: Reverse Chakra Palm and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the Pressure Strike jutsu next

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to execute a precisely timed, surgical strike to some area of a target's body with focused chakra which has not been converted into medical chakra to enhance them instead of debilitating them unlike the case with the Reverse Chakra Palm, eh?...This is yet another useful medical ninjutsu just like the Soft Body Manipulation series, Reverse Chakra Palm, and the Chakra Palm I learned before now...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after finishing his plan of how to field test this jutsu, he proceeded to execute said plan. Naturally, he did not want to bother with asking the facility to lend him a training partner, or as he like to refer to them, lab rats to use in his field testing. So, he decided to use himself as his guinea pig for said field test instead. To that end, he commenced the field testing of the Pressure Strike jutsu by performing the Dog-Ox-Rat handsign sequence needed for its activation. Then, he focused his chakra into the palm of his right hand first and jabbed his fingers into his left forearm to flow the gathered chakra in a surgically precise manner and observed the effects. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...on another note, this jutsu seems to enhance the physical prowess of the user to some degree via the effects of this surgical strike, so it could be useful in other ways too, I suppose...now to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the Pressure Strike jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Through these next few, once again, he tested the jutsu to see which palm would be better to use if any, but he ended up finding no difference in the force of his strikes, but he did discover that the enhancing effect could indeed be accrued with consecutive strikes with the Pressure Strike to the same body part target, but to his great chagrin, also found that a fourth strike executed with greater force to the same  targeted area ended up nullifying the enhancing effect of the Pressure Strike jutsu instead. Then, he proceeded onto the final phase of his field testing of the Pressure Strike jutsu. Specifically, this was the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the Pressure Strike jutsu and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the Healing Hands jutsu next

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to focus their chakra and then, after converting it into medical chakra, to apply it for curing first-degree burns, shallow cuts and so on, eh?...This is yet another useful medical ninjutsu just like the Soft Body Manipulation series, Reverse Chakra Palm, the Chakra Palm, and the Pressure Strike I learned before now...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after finishing his plan of how to field test this jutsu, he proceeded to execute said plan. Naturally, he did not want to bother with asking the facility to lend him a training partner, or as he like to refer to them, lab rats to use in his field testing. So, he decided to use himself as his guinea pig for said field test instead. To that end, he commenced the field testing of the Healing Hands jutsu by reactivating the flamethrower device at the lowest degree of intensity and allowing it to induce a 1st-degree burn on his forearm. Then, he proceeded to perform the Heaven-Snake-Dog handsign sequence needed for its activation. Once that was done, he focused his chakra into the palm of his right hand first and then flowed the medical chakra in it onto the burn wound and observed the effects. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...on another note, this will be the second medical jutsu that I have learned which can cure basic burns but unlike the Chakra Palm, this one is more useful since it can cure non-ailment injuries too, despite these two being from the same rank of learning difficulty..., and now to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the Healing Hands jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Through these next few, once again, he tested the jutsu to see which palm would be better to use if any, but he ended up finding no difference in the efficacy of the jutsu's application, but he did discover that the Healing Hands jutsu, just like the Chakra Palm, could not cure anything beyond the basic injuries that were described in the associated scroll. Then, he proceeded onto the final phase of his field testing of the Healing Hands jutsu. Specifically, this was the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the Healing Hands jutsu and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to focus their chakra and then, after converting it into medical chakra, to apply it for making surgical incisions without needing to rely on physical implements for the purposes of surgeries, dissections, and so on, eh?...This is yet another useful medical ninjutsu just like the Soft Body Manipulation series, Reverse Chakra Palm, Chakra Palm, Pressure Strike, and the Healing Hands I learned before now...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after finishing his plan of how to field test this jutsu, he then proceeded to execute said plan. Naturally, he did not want to bother with asking the facility to lend him a training partner, or as he like to refer to them, lab rats to use in his field testing. Instead, he decided to use one of the live animal specimens he had bought from the facility for his field testing of the Chakra Scalpel jutsu. To that end, he took said specimen out of the cage, and after setting up the surgical table near him, he affixed the live animal specimen to said table's restraint cords, while taking great pleasure in seeing it squirm in fear before him, with said pleasure showing on his face as a cruel and wide smirk. Then, he proceeded to perform the requisite Tiger → Horse → Rabbit → Rat → Dog handsign sequence for its activation.

Once that was done, he noticed how the Chakra Scalpel jutsu flowed his chakra around his hands and shaped into a blade-edged energetic aura of sorts after which point, he began the field testing of the Chakra Scalpel jutsu by touching the squirming animal's limbs, and once he did, he noticed that its limbs slowed down and stopped jerking as they had been doing till then. Then, he repeated this action by touching the neck of the squirming animal, and this time, the animal seemed to lose the ability to move its head and neck around as well. So, to confirm the locations of the cuts he made, he killed the animal off and then dissected its corpse at the locations where he had applied the Chakra Scalpel on it to study the effects in greater detail. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...though this jutsu seemed to require the target to be restrained in some manner to be truly efficacious...still, just as the scroll had described...I was able to make cuts within this specimen's body without breaking the skin...and it does seem to debilitate the target in a physical manner since its targets seem to be the muscles and tendons of the body and not any actual vital organs...and now to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...

Through these next few, once again, he tested the jutsu to see which palm would be better to use if any, but he ended up finding no difference in the efficacy of the jutsu's application. After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the variations of the Chakra Scalpel jutsu that he had read about next, the first of these being called the Dissection Blade jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to focus their chakra and instead of making the Chakra Scalpel in its base form, this variant is more oriented to combative deployment instead while also still retaining its medicosurgical applications, eh?...This is yet another useful medical ninjutsu just like the Soft Body Manipulation series, Reverse Chakra Palm, Chakra Palm, Pressure Strike, the Healing Hands, and the Chakra Scalpel that I learned before now...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after finishing his plan of how to field test this jutsu, he then proceeded to execute said plan. Naturally, he did not want to bother with asking the facility to lend him a training partner, or as he like to refer to them, lab rats to use in his field testing. Hmm, that worked out well...though this jutsu seems to not focus so much on debilitating the target, but rather more on facilitating a simpler version of the chakra scalpel jutsu so that it can be used more easily in heated combat...and it also removes the handsign requirement for activation too...that is yet another advantage this jutsu has over its parent despite the lower intensity of the thing...so now, to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the Dissection Blade jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Through these next few, once again, he tested the jutsu to see which palm would be better to use if any, but he ended up finding no difference in the efficacy of the jutsu's application. After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the variations of the Chakra Scalpel jutsu that he had read about next, the second of these being called the Dissection Blade: Extension jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to first focus their chakra and after manifesting the basic Dissection Blade, the idea for this jutsu is to then extend the energy blade's reach so it can hit a target further away than its parent can...which then not only lets the user hit a target a little further away in combat, but also attempt larger incisions on bigger targets, eh?...This is yet another useful medical ninjutsu just like the Soft Body Manipulation series, Reverse Chakra Palm, Chakra Palm, Pressure Strike, the Healing Hands, and the Chakra Scalpel that I have learned before now...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after finishing his plan of how to field test this jutsu, he then proceeded to execute said plan. Naturally, he did not want to bother with asking the facility to lend him a training partner, or as he like to refer to them, lab rats to use in his field testing. To that end, he took said specimen, this time, being larger than its predecessor, out of the cage and after setting up the surgical table near him, he affixed the live animal specimen to said table's restraint cords, while taking great pleasure in seeing it squirm in fear before him, with said pleasure showing on his face as a cruel and wide smirk yet again like the one he had when he was experimenting with the basic Dissection Blade jutsu.

Once that was done, he noticed how the Dissection Blade: Extension jutsu also flowed his chakra around his hands and shaped into a blade-edged energetic aura of sorts like its parent Dissection Blade jutsu, but did so by another 4" above and beyond the 2" limit of said parent jutsu for 6" in total, after which point, he began the field testing of the Dissection Blade: Extension jutsu by touching the squirming animal's limbs, one by one. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...so just as the scroll had described, this jutsu is designed to be useful to cut bigger targets or ones further way, but...it still seems to be a rather minor improvement...I will certainly have to ensure to close the gap between myself and the target if I ever use this in combat...so now, to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to perform even more trial runs with the Dissection Blade: Extension jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Through these next few, once again, he tested the jutsu to see which palm would be better to use if any, but he ended up finding no difference in the efficacy of the jutsu's application. So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to first focus their chakra and after manifesting the basic Dissection Blade, the idea for this jutsu is to then intensify the energy blade's power so it can inflict more serious wounds than its parent can...which then not only lets the user more easily debilitate the target more in combat, but also attempt incisions on more difficult to cut through targets in surgery, eh?...This is yet another useful medical ninjutsu just like the Soft Body Manipulation series, Reverse Chakra Palm, Chakra Palm, Pressure Strike, the Healing Hands, the Chakra Scalpel, the Dissection Blade, and the Dissection Blade: Extension jutsu series that I have completed learned before...

Once that was done, he noticed how the Dissection Blade: Focusing jutsu also flowed his chakra around his hands and shaped into a blade-edged energetic aura of sorts like its parent Dissection Blade jutsu, but did so while concentrating more of said chakra into it which caused it glow brighter to some degree, after which point, he began the field testing of the Dissection Blade: Extension jutsu by touching the squirming animal's limbs, one by one. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...so just as the scroll had described, this jutsu is designed to be useful to cut tougher targets, but...overall, like its predecessor, it still seems to be a rather minor improvement...I will certainly have to ensure to close the gap between myself and the target and create a suitable opening for a proper strike if I ever use this in combat...that said, it does mention that this will not be able to cut through metallic armors of C-grade or higher and nonmetallic ones of B-grade or higher...so that is yet another factor to consider before deploying this jutsu...so now, to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to focus their chakra and then, after finishing the process of converting it into medical chakra, to deploy it against C-grade or less poisons that may be afflicting the target, eh?...This is yet another useful medical ninjutsu just like the Soft Body Manipulation series, Reverse Chakra Palm, Chakra Palm, Pressure Strike, the Healing Hands, the Chakra Scalpel, the Dissection Blade, and the Dissection Blade: Extension and the Dissection Blade: Focusing jutsu series that I have completed learned before...

Naturally, he did not want to bother with asking the facility to lend him a training partner, or as he like to refer to them, lab rats to use in his field testing. Instead, he decided to again use one of the live animal specimens he had bought from the facility for his field testing of the Cleanse jutsu. To that end, he took said specimen, this time, being a poisonous one unlike its predecessors, out of the cage and after setting up the surgical table near him, he affixed the live animal specimen to said table's restraint cords, while taking great pleasure in seeing it squirm in fear before him, with said pleasure showing on his face as a cruel and wide smirk yet again like the one he had when he was experimenting before now with the Dissection Blade jutsu series

Once that was done, he provoked the animal into biting his hand so it could deliver its poison into his system and then proceeded to execute the Ram handsign that was necessary to activate this new Cleanse jutsu he had set himself to field testing now. Upon doing so, he noticed how the jutsu neutralized the poison that had entered his hand from the animal's fangs. Then, he freed the animal and after putting it back in the cage, he took out a more poisonous animal, this one possessing a B-grade poison instead, after which point he repeated the process of letting the animal bite him after restraining it and then attempting the Cleanse jutsu to clear out said poison. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...so just as the scroll had described, this jutsu is designed to only clear out up to and including C-grade poisons, but not ones more virulent or toxic than that level...I will certainly have to ensure to not be afflicted by any truly noxious substances so that this jutsu can work properly as intended if I ever use this in combat...so now, to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...

Once that was done, he then brought out the large jar of medicinal fluid and activated the Chakra Scalpel jutsu by performing the associated Tiger → Horse → Rabbit → Rat → Dog handsign sequence and then used it to perform a pair of incisions on the animal specimen's torso, one on each side, after which point, he pulled the medicinal fluid out of the jar by performing the Delicate Illness Extraction jutsu and then, he pushed it into the animal specimen's body through the right side incision that he already made on its torso earlier. Immediately afterward, while controlling the flow of the medicinal fluid through the specimen's body to isolate the poison, he guided the fluid towards the incision on the left side of said specimen's body and drew it and the poison along with it out of that incision and then dropped both into a bowl he had set up near him to complete the jutsu. Then, he practiced making the antidote for the poison and injecting it into the animal specimen's body as the follow up to the Delicate Illness extraction jutsu as per the description of the jutsu in the associated scroll. After that, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...so just as the scroll had described, this jutsu is designed to be a multi-part jutsu...which means that this is not one that I will ever use this in combat...and the fact that it actually requires medicinal fluid is truly irksome...so perhaps I can devise a derivative of this jutsu which does not require the mentioned medicinal fluid instead someday...oh well, so now, to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu..

So, first, he began by activating the Chakra Scalpel jutsu by performing the associated Tiger → Horse → Rabbit → Rat → Dog handsign sequence and then used it to perform an internal cut to his forearm muscles. Then, he proceeded to perform the Mystical Palm jutsu that he had set himself to learning by performing the necessary Ox → Tiger handsign sequence for it and observed the effects of said jutsu as it mended the damage that he had inflicted internally to his forearm muscles with the Chakra Scalpel jutsu from earlier. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...so just as the scroll had described, this jutsu is most certainly designed to heal internal injuries like those made with the Chakra Scalpel jutsu...but it also mentions that it can heal external injuries as well, so perhaps I can test that next...but one thing of note is that it does take a long time to heal more serious injuries, so...I will certainly have to ensure to not be afflicted by any truly serious injuries so that this jutsu can work properly as intended if I ever use this in combat...so now, to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...

When he was at point blank range, he then smashed his fist with the concentrated chakra stored in it with surgical precision and accuracy into the dummy, causing its head to completely shatter to pieces with a single strike. Then, he stopped to review these preliminary results of his field testing for this jutsu

Hmm, that worked out well...so just as the scroll had described, this jutsu does require precision timing and accuracy as well...which is why it can basically only be done by medical ninja who already possess those qualities due to their training in this discipline...hmm, this will be a useful jutsu to compensate for my innate lack of physical strength...additionally, it also mentions that it can be used with the feet, so perhaps I can test that next...but this jutsu and its derivatives seem to be the main offensive portion of medical ninjutsu, so I will definitely be using this when I am in combat...so now, to proceed to the next phase of testing and to perform more trial runs with this jutsu...
