The Jounin Commander of Kirigakure no Sato sat within his office, going through paperwork, sword leaning upon the right side of his desk and easily within reach should he need it. He was fully equipped with his cloak and gloves as well. As it was both his most used and most comfortable garb. All in all no one would see anything amiss with the shinobi as he read over the letter that had just arrived. With the exception of a single thing. One extremely obvious fact that no one could actually ignore upon simply walking into the room.
The temperature in it was like that of a sauna.
It wasn't hot outside, the thermostat wasn't even turned on within. It was simply a reaction to the chakra Valen held within, anger poured off of him in roiling waves of livid fury. Any who might sense emotions would be able to feel like him like a brilliant beacon from afar. He hadn't started off in fury, oh no. First was curiosity, then surprise, then fully blown shock. Now? Now rage had settled around him. It was not an emotion he was used to feeling and he did not actually know how to channel it effectively.
He struggled with it for a while before eventually feeling it ebb, he needed action now. Not passive anger. Diana, this Tsuchikage, dared to make accusations against Sayuri? That could not stand, but he had a job to do first. His emotional reaction could happen later. For now he would not be stupid enough to dismiss the letter out of hand. He took a few prudent measures first. Such as taking Sayuri off the payroll. If she was, by off chance, doing what Diana said she was then having a financial connection to her would be bad. He could always pay her what was owed later and frankly, he knew she wouldn't even care.
Next would need to be confirmation. He would need to send a team to Sunagakure to confirm. Given the state of the accusations it shouldn't be hard to confirm her presence and actions. If Diana was telling the truth about any of it then confirming his Queen's presence alone would be enough in this case.
If she had done what was accused of her though..problems would arise.
He drafted the orders, called in a team, and sent them out. Handing the leader of the team, specifically not a member of the Nightmare Brigade, as a matter of fact there wasn't a single member amongst them. The leader took the orders he had been given and left. Valen having not said a single word. All of the pertinent information were in the letter after all. He didn't want a word of this getting to anyone yet, and one never knew where ears might be hiding. The team had been ordered to enter Sunagakure under disguise, confirm or deny the presence of Sayuri beyond a shadow of a doubt. If possible confirm the accusations of civilian atrocities committed by the woman.
Upon their return, he would inform Lady Arisu, and then deal with informing Sero as well. That would be a confirmation he was not looking forward to if it was true. If it wasn't, then he would talk to Lady Arisu about making an example of the woman who laid accusations such as those against one of the Three Princesses of Kirigakure.
