On The Road To Crimson City

Stepping foot off the corvette that had taken them to Crimson State Island Valen looked around at the countryside. They had arrived, but now they had to find the capital city he had heard it was called ‘Crimson City’ but knew nothing past the name of the place. He would offer to help Lady Arisu off the boat, as he had offered to help her on it back in the Land of Water. Now it was time to start scouting the country. In the memories of his enslavement he recalled how he had heard of the horrible living conditions of the people here. With them being pushed down and oppressed by those above them in society.

He wanted to change that.

Either by blade or by bribe, or wanted to change that. If people were being oppressed and were dying due to it then Valen would be more than willing to do so by blade. But he would not jump to conclusions. No, not anymore, he couldn’t understand the reasons behind something without speaking to others. Or at least taking the time to try. For now though, they had to find the place. Opening up a map he would mark their location on it with the help of the Corvette’s captain. Who knew better than he the angle and direction they had actually approached from. Then he would begin planning out a grid pattern search. It would be the most efficient method. Then he would begin to move, ensuring his equipment was secured and then moving off. Hopefully with Arisu joining him in the search. Together they would find the place faster than if either searched alone after all.

Searching for ‘Crimson City’ Valen’s base ‘A’ Perception reduces the two month scout time down to 1 month. Should Arisu join him her flying animal path summon will reduce the search time by 4 weeks, causing the overall search time to be 1 week (Since it can’t be reduced more than that). As such we’ll find it on 12/31 at 8:16 AM CST

As soon as the corvette spotted land and made to dock, Arisu began to equip the gear that she'd taken with her as she had it when she left. The travel had gone rather smoothly, so she was focused mostly on relaxing. Valen was spear heading the search, and she was just there to observe for the most part, but she'd help finding the place at least. Still, this was a small test for him, so she didn't really want to get too much involved.

At the very least, they didn't need to waste more time traveling back from the city once they found it, and the sooner they returned to Kirigakure, the better. As she departed the ship, Arisu turned and spoke to the captain. "Return to Kirigakure's docks please. We'll return a different way."

Taking Valen's offered hand, she disembarked and they went forward to search for the city.

Placing a hand on the ground, Arisu summoned one of the Animal Path creatures, a flying one with a drill-like beak.

"Feel free to search from above. It'll obey you."

The process would continue until they found it, Arisu's ability to summon was more or less endless with the supply of chakra she was working with.

Appearance: The bird itself is unusual, as not only does it demonstrate a prominent and jagged yellow-coloured beak, but it also features three distinct legs as well as wings. It also has one giant chakra receiver sticking through the right side of its back and another one sticking through the left side of its neck.

Lady Arisu's offer of using her summon would bring a nod of acknowledgement from the swordsman and he would climb upon it's back, again, offering a hand to help the pale skinned woman up. Then he would have it rise, the strange avian with eyes identical to Arisu's would take flight, it's great wings flapping into the air. It's ascension was rapid and once in the air he had it begin to fly across the nation. A city wouldn't be difficult to see from the sky.

Sure enough he would spy a cities walls in the distance, the white walls high to defend from possible attackers. Given it's sea port on one side it would also make sense for a defensible place against pirate assaults. Valen steered the bird toward the city, landing it a bit away so as not to alarm anyone. All in all, the fire swordsman was..confused. However his initial impression would need to wait until he could actually see more.

Successfully found Crimson City, will now exit this thread into it.

For once, Arisu declined the offer of the hand up. She wasn't going to be participating on this ride, in case there was something on the ground worth seeing that somehow couldn't be seen from above.

"I have shared vision with this bird. It sees what I see and I see what it sees. It works better if I'm observing from somewhere else."

After a while of searching though, it was through the summons that they found the city. Arisu opened up a portal in front of the bird, and stepped out onto the back to join Valen at that point. Things were going pretty smooth for the time being, hopefully they'd be able to complete this mission without any real hiccups and return to the village in a timely manner.
