History: Sumiko had a normal childhood, growing up with a father who is a Kumogakure shinobi and a mother who was a civilian who worked in a bookstore. With the support of both parents, she became very dedicated to her studies. Mental skills coming to her a lot easier than physical skills. As she continued to study, Sumiko became unsure what to do. Did she want to take the path of the shinobi like her father, or work in a shop like her mother? The indecision plagued her until the day her sister was born. Sumiko was ten years old before her parents had another child, her little sister, Shion. Sumiko loved her younger sister with all her heart and wanted to protect her with everything she had. She never wanted Shion to ever feel any kind of pain. This want caused her to direct her studies into Iryōjutsu, the skill of a Medical-nin. She keeps herself dedicated to her studies, but also finds time to help others. Though, she does drop nearly everything to run to her sister's aide. Since becoming a genin, Sumiko did slow down on her studies to apply herself more to the physical skills that she lacked. Weaving in time to train into her daily schedule.
Personality: Sumiko is a gentle, generous soul. For the most part, soft-spoken and stoic. She always tries to have the best of intentions and strives to be well-meaning. Kind to each person who crosses her path, being kind does not stop her from sharing the truth, even if it is an ugly truth. Sumiko is far too concerned for everyone's wellbeing to just lie to a person - more often than not, she will not. Friends or not, she prioritizes the safety of other people and will only take up arms if there is a greater threat afflicting all. Everyone is met with compassion, but not everyone gets to see how relaxed and playful she can be. Typically saving that for those who will eventually become her friend.
