A Typical Patrol Empty A Typical Patrol

    Mission Name: Patrol The Emporium
    Mission Rank: B
    Theater of War: N/A
    Relevant Plot NPCs Nope
Mission Goal: Patrol The Heavenly Emporium to keep the peace
Description: The Heavenly Emporium is an absolutely essential place for all sides of the war. It provides neutral ground for diplomatic envoys, and safety for those who seek refuge who aren't from one of the villages. Everyone has a duty to ensure it's safety and protection no matter what is going on in the war. Patrol the Emporium and ensure that no one is preying upon those who have been displaced by the war.
    Payment: 25,000
    Maximum Number of Participants: 4

Today was the day, despite struggling to get to sleep throughout the night, the Uzumaki was primed and ready for a mission with his new compatriot. Still situated in the heavenly emporium, the Uzumaki found himself waiting for his blue eyed team-mate while wearing black combat pants and a light blue shirt.

The mission that they were tasked with was quite a simple one in that the duo had to patrol the emporium in order to keep the peace. It was quite straight forward but as the Uzumaki had learned from the back of his mothers passing, nothings straight forward in the ninja world.

Sliding his fingers through his spikey golden hair, he observed the surroundings, taking care to note anything of importance ahead of their patrol. Unlike his previous encounter with the Yuki, the Uzumaki had come prepared, armed with a wooden flute and a box of bento.

Naturally, the Uzumaki was early, the mission not set to commence for a little while and so he decided to take the opportunity to squeeze in a quick toot of the flute. Raising the wooden contraption to his lips, he played a simple melodic rhythm that he had crafted in his spare time.

The melody was quite catchy, so much so that his instructors asked him to document the notes used during the commision of the melody in order to allow them the opportunity to share the students brilliance with the peers.

Worries about his health plagued his mind, his mind plagued by itself. The tightness on his chest was getting more common, and the damned voice on his head was not one he recognized. Surely, everyone heard the voice in their head -- he always had, even when reading, or when contemplating. Yet, this voice was different. Condemning. Mocking. Accusing. The shadows crept upon him whenever a light wasn’t on. His sleep wasn’t what it used to be.

Yet, the stay in the Heavenly Emporium was not free. Noboru had been called upon to exercise some of his ninja training upon the streets of the neutral territory. Noboru walked out the door of his room, walking the street to a meeting point for patrol where he and Satoru had planned to meet for their patrol. He wore the same beige shirt and tan pants, or rather a different pair since he had many. His katana and weapon pouches hung from his belt.

Not two minutes after, he met with the orange headed goliath, playing his flute. As one who was able to make a makeshift flute out of a bamboo stalk, he played a simple tune, yet beautifully so. “Hey there, Satoru!” He called out, waving a hand. “This should be an easy one. Just make them run in circles, heh?”

Before long, the Yuki had arrived which called the end to the Uzumakis flute practice. Flashing a toothy grin, he waved a palm in Nobos direction before quickly springing to his feet. By awkward coincidence, the duo shared the same greeting gesture, “Ye’... shouldn’t be too difficult, we got lucky with the mornin’ shift, the hooligans are probably still sleeping.” he cracked up a little before slipping his flute into his pocket.

It was set to be an interesting day, one where the Uzumaki and the Yuki would be patrolling the sprawling grounds of the emporium in an effort to deter any criminals from committing any illegal acts in the sacred land of the emporium. Nodding to himself, the Uzumaki gesture towards the direction of their patrol route and it wasn’t long before the duo got on their way. The entirety of the patrol was relatively quite, with the duo exchanging quips and remarks along the way in an effort to bring a level of entertainment to an otherwise boring mission.

While boring, the opportunity gave the duo an opportunity to serve alongside one another in an official capacity which in turn allowed them bond a little. Having met the young Yuki but a few days ago, the Uzumaki had grown quite fond of him. Not only was the Yuki tradesman a rather funny individual but he was also well versed in the art of hand to hand styles which excited the bookworm of an Uzumaki as he was almost positive that he would need someone of Noborus caliber by his side in order to achieve the goals that he had set out for himself and the Shinobi world.

Before long, their shift had concluded, the Uzumaki quickly tucked into his bento, offering exactly half of the contents to his Yuki team mate before the duo parted ways, the plan — “Lets meet up later for anotha’ one.”

The merigold eyes of the giant met the Yuki’s glacial eyes as the flute tune came to an abrupt ending. Sad, to be sure, as he was talented. He got up and mimicked Noboru’s wave. “Maybe the hooligans work in shifts, I got some stiffness worked into my muscles, wouldn’t mind stretching it off.” He grabbed his shoulder and rotated his arm as he spoke, trying to relieve the soreness of his poor rest. Nobo couldn’t help but chuckle at the Uzumaki’s cackling though, as if it were contagious.

Noboru’s eyes surveyed the area, and as expected, the bustling streets would not sleep. Not in the mornings. People came and went from all directions, alleys and streets and the many shops. Satoru set their route with a wave of his hand, and Noboru broke into a stroll. Satoru’s modest and remarkably insightful remarks, as well as his overly-familiar touching kept the Yuki company, and the voice inside his head didn’t even ring up this time.

In spite of their violent meeting, Noboru could see himself becoming friends with the man. Starting off as opponents and colleagues, maybe the giant man would prove a good ally. Any battle was difficult, but when you have someone who can make one’s opponent swerve aimlessly around the battlefield… why, that’s just not fair.

The shift was calm, and before they knew it, between grabbing a bite and some tea, issuing a warning to some kids running among the carts, nothing sprung up that required their immediate assistance. “Have a good rest, Satoru”, he called out, waving his hand and taking off to his room, where the shadows awaited his return.
