Moonfall: A Darhk Day

Due to her intelligence, she had considered going a route that might be the riskiest that she possibly could, however, she knew that Shimiko might not actually go for a kill, and would likely harm her quite badly. She had been under the impression that Seid would probably step in and intervene against anything Shimiko would do, but she noticed right before speaking that Seid was becoming unresponsive, and a bad scenario played out in her head.

The image of bats attacking her and Shimiko slicing her up with a knife played across the girl's mental mindscape, and she stopped herself from actually speaking. Instead, she reaffirmed that she wouldn't lie. However, rather than doubling down on calling Shimiko a bitch, Rini shifted her gaze to Shimiko's chest, focusing on the woman's bust.

"I called you a bitch, which I shouldn't have done, but you shouldn't attack your allies, especially ones who have nothing to do with why you're upset."

Calling her a bitch was one thing, but she'd been about to bring up something that was a sore wound for the woman. Currently, that would be a big mistake, so she decided to just go with a safer route and admit what she'd said and go the empathy route instead.

When Rini confirmed that she had in fact called Shimiko a bitch, the Jounin reacted without thinking. Shimiko's temper had been a longstanding issue for the ANBU Captain and it was most unwise to provoke her as her reaction was likely to be unpredictable. Rini began with an apology but Shimiko wouldn't deign to hear the rest of it. She was in an emotionally charged situation and had just lost her best friend. Calling her a bitch and then immediately apologizing for it like a petulant child was one of the worst things Rini could have done. She strode over to Rini and slammed the heel of the serrate kunai into Rini's left eye with all of her might. The same action was attempted in her right. The act would leave her sockets a bloody mess, possibly even killing her due to her weak constitution. Shimiko would follow this up by prying the gelatinous mass out of Rini's head causing the contents to spill to the ground. She then stepped on what was left of Rini's eyes and ground them into the dirt.

"You're right. You shouldn't have called me a bitch"

Now permanently robbed of her ability to see, Rini would be a living warning to those who thought they could test the waters with the Queen of Close Quarters Combat. There was a coldness in her words but internally Shimiko felt white hot with rage. She wiped the bloody kunai on Rini's shirt and left the girl for dead. She'd probably die given how frail she was but there had been high ranking Kumo shinobi in the meeting and it was possible that at least one of them was well versed in Ijutsu. If this was the case, then Rini's life might yet be saved although her vision was forfeit. Shimiko had wanted to cut out the redhead's insolent tongue but then how could she hear the secrets that she held? Better to render blind as a bat. Heh.

Shimiko then stormed out of the conference to reveal her pent up pressure.

Seid could do no more for Rini. Prodding the beast that is Shimiko had its repercussions. The young Otsu would have to watch her dig herself deeper. And sure enough. Shimiko dealt her a swift punishment. Seid shook his head, this was how things were down here. He believed that they would be able to heal Rin but her pride would be another story. The Otsu knew there were other matters to attend to at the moment. He would have to take his leave as he had done all he could.
