How the Pros Do It Empty How the Pros Do It

In the process of crafting his bow, Ashitaka decided to take a different approach than was usual for him: he chose to buy one that was available for sale for use as an example to work off of. But he was absolutely not going to waste his money, hard-earned or not, on the overpriced garbage for sale at the General Market. Instead, he opted for the much more worthwhile works he'd heard were provided by the new establishment going by the moniker of "Dark Unlimited". Upon entering the establishment's facility, he soon discovered that the rumors were ironically underselling the place. And also that he was going to end up buying a lot more than just the bow at this place.

As he walked up and down the aisles of hardware that any shinobi would dream of having on hand, he found himself drawn to the DIY section of the store. Naturally, this part of the mart was devoid of life save for himself and one employee, who happened to catch sight of him as he looked around. She approached with practiced grace and radiant professionalism to beam down at the boy who was only a couple inches shorter than her.

"Hello there, young man. Is there something in particular that you're looking for?" she asked pleasantly. Naturally, her customer service provision was well-wielded, but there was something about this kid that was just... comforting to be near.

"Yes," he replied simply, and her smile flickered for the briefest of moments. "I'll get to it soon enough. Right now, I'd like to look at the things I wasn't looking for." he gestured to the casting molds he was looking at. After a bit of mental math, he continued "I'd like to place an order for four of each of these. Have them shipped to this address at the Senju Clan District, please."

He wrote down the address on a piece of notepaper and tore it off to hand to her. With a smile, she responded and produced a receipt seemingly out of thin air with no discernible intervening process. Well, that was 16k down the drain, but Ashitaka didn't feel the slightest hint of regret. The ability to mass produce ammunition was probably going to prove invaluable as it would give him the option to rain it down on his opponents with no hesitation. Of course, picking it all up off of... well everything was probably going to be a pain. But it would be much less painful than what happened to him whenever he failed to turn his opponents into pincushions.

"I'll get right on that, Sir. Please let a member of staff know if there are any other orders you'd like delivered," she said with a bow, then strode out of sight. Ashitaka meanwhile decided to see what else was nearby.

Oh! There are notebooks for sale! Can't ever get enough of those! he thought to himself as he grabbed one of the conveniently-available "book bags" nearby and stuffed it with packs of the small empty books.

Another 5k down. Ashitaka realized that he'd probably better actually get around to buying the bow by this point, so he hoisted the bag and started heading in the direction of the aisles offering weapons for sale. He didn't even give the armor a glance. It was probably very nicely made, but his most prevalent foes wielded lightning which steel was going to do nothing against, and his own jutsu armor was superior even to high-quality leather unless it was from some super exotic animal. On the other hand, the weapons were certainly respectable enough that if he wasn't intent on maintaining the pride of making his own, he'd definitely get some from here.

"Let's see bows... bows... where are the- ah, yes! Bows! Here we are." he turned down the aisle and perused the implements in question. They were very generic-looking, in spite of their quality, but that was all well and good. He was planning to use the one for training archery and as a frame of reference for his own work, after all. Consequently, he went with the "natural" bow that had been only lacquered instead of painted over so he can see the exact manner in which the grains of wood bent as the arms flexed and straightened. 5,000 ryo. Not bad, at least not in comparison to the shoddy work going for the same price at the GM. But he planned to do better, so it helped to have a good idea of what he was aiming to get a leg up on.

Satisfied with his acquisitions, he set out toward the registers to make his purchases. As nice as this place was, it didn't sell any raw materials, so he was still going to have to get those from the Market.
