    Last Ditch Empty Last Ditch

Post by Shimiko Chinoike Sat Sep 12, 2020 4:40 pm

The meeting with Shimiko's specialist had been fruitful. The doctor had informed them that while he couldn't identify the exact cause of Seigi's ailment, his research in Enhanced Angiogenesis had led him to propose that the only solution to the systematic breakdown of Seigi's body was a near constant state of minimal regeneration. The damage that had accumulated thus far could be reversed, but it'd resurface in mere hours unless there was some genetic agent capable of suppressing the harm before it multiplied out of control again. Unfortunately, there were no synthetic genetic agents on the market capable of such a feat.

"I'm sorry Seigi. Unless you happen to have a Uzumaki or Senju liver handy....I don't know if there is anything else I can do for you"

Those words had caused Shimiko to go rather stiff. As a matter of fact......

    Weeks Later

Shimiko had spoken personally to Carmine and pressed him on the progress of the Shinobi Instrumentality Project. She had given up Kyoji in exchange for access to the fruits of his labor and she had no intention of forgetting this debt. Especially now that her brother's life hung in the balance. Carmine had not intended to duck Shimiko but the war had only just been won. He was hoping to get some more time to test, develop, and refine the project before she came calling. The blonde wouldn't take no for an answer though and so he relented. He sent two vials of the substance to Kumogakure. One for her and one for Seigi. He explained that while trials were ongoing they had used their knowledge of the super-plague to create a universal bonding agent. The most obvious application of this serum was implantation. Once applied to an organ, the serum would permit flawless grafting to the host. It was essentially an organ transplant without risk.

Just what we needed! Thank Jashin!

Shimiko saw this as a divine gift and with all the drama occurring in the village recently, she needed a pick me up. A sign that she was on the right path and that she was still in her Lord's favor. She still had Miyu's liver and was now carrying it in a backpack. The organ had been preserved indefinitely thanks to the efforts of Satori Ryuutei. They had all the materials they needed to perform the surgery. Now all they needed was a surgeon and Shimiko knew of no doctor that she could trust more than her own twins.

Shimiko waited outside the hospital with Vik. It was the dead of night and the entire building had been closed. This procedure was to be top secret and Shimiko had enough pull to evacuate the building at a moment's notice.

The trek from the tower to the hospital wasn't far, but it felt like miles to Seigi. Passing through the foggy streets through the dead of night, it gave Seigi a moment to appreciate his surroundings, appreciate Kumogakure. The atmosphere of the village late at night brought about an almost mystical presence to the village. Spirits that once haunted the hills now lurked within the streets, crept under basements, and hid away in the night, invisible to all except the weary travelers and skeptics, but Seigi knew. Seigi believed. He wondered if spirits could transcend dimensions, and if so, if he would someday see his brothers again. He always thought of death before surgery, and given that this was to be foolproof, he still couldn't help but worry. He had been through this process before, and even now, his body found it difficult to properly process implants. But with his work during the Carmine Crisis finished, his reward was his life; the virus had been reworked into a medical tool to help with implants. As a reward, he and his sister were both granted one of these vials. With this, and help from Shimiko and the twins, Seigi would be cured of his ailment.

He would cough into his sleeve.

Approaching the hospital, he would spot Shimiko and Vik, giving the two a wave. He knew Vik didn't like him much and was surprised to see him here.
"Hey Little Sister." Seigi would say as he approached, nodding to Vik.
"Vik." He would say, opting to keep his distance from the man.

The twins had a big day it seemed Shimiko had found a way to save her brother with their help, of course, Yui was very happy to help but finding her brother was quite a pain as she had to search for several hours before dragging him away from some whore to come help with the surgery. The alcohol on his breath made her sigh, he was always like this these days but at least he was himself and was no longer a weak link to the pair. They would arrive to see Shimiko and Vik both there along with Seigi.

Yua would walk up toward him and attempt to put his arm around him, to show him he's a bro here to help. He was a very odd man now but he also still had a caring side making Yui smile a bit, she was glad to see deep down he was still as caring as ever.

"Do not worry Seigi we will take good care of you, soon you will be able to have the best nights on the town with me. We can get you all the girls, oh man there was one I know you will love, her lips and tits, first class. I must say Vik I am shocked to see the DNA donator here, you don't give off the vibe of giving two shits about Shimikos family."

As always Yua was offensive and blunt causing Yui to facepalm, this did not shock her though when he was stressed he often got offensive, he was just worried about this surgery and so was Yui. They had studied the technique well and were quite sure they could pull this off. Once they fixed Seigi that would be one less stress in Shimikos life.

"I am glad you are here to support us Vik, do not worry Shimiko we will take good care of your brother, you could not have more trusted surgeons taking care of him."

Post by Shimiko Chinoike Tue Sep 15, 2020 1:26 pm

"Hai Seigi!" Shimiko ran over and hugged him tightly. She didn't want to believe this would be the last time she'd see her brother. She was no scientist but she had faith in those who had studied medicine. She had Vik double-check the specialists's work and when he concurred with the man's opinion, she knew that this was their best shot.

Vik was not so enthusiastic. He was only giving them exclusive access to the hospital because Seigi's health was important to Shimiko. He had no love for this imposter. He knew Seigi. The real Seigi. They looked alike, sounded alike, and even acted alike. But ultimately, this was not him. The real friend and comrade he had come to know was a Chinoike and this interloper was a foreign body in their universe. That was assuming of course this stranger's cover story was even true. Shimiko's husband gave Seigi a cold stare and replied:

    "Seigi"

Shimiko didn't like that Vik was being so cold but she refused to sour the mood. Drawing attention to the obvious would only increase the tension and so she changed the subject. She wanted Seigi to be in positive spirits.

"I have the liver...do you have the serum?"

The Twins arrived right on time. Yua had grown considerably this past year as had Yui, but the biggest change was in the former's personality. What was once a timid and effeminate young boy was now an arrogant and aggressive man. He embraced Seigi and proceeded to spew vulgarity which caused Shimiko to furrow her brow in annoyance. She was about to cut him off when he outright insulted Vik.

    "Yua!"

Vik stared at the womanizer as though he had been punched in the face. He blinked a few times before realizing that what Yua had said was grounds for a duel to the death among Chinoike.

"I'm sorry....I've had a long night in the surgery wing. I must have misheard you. What the fuck did you say to me?"

Shimiko had never heard Vik talk like that before. He was normally a fairly cool individual. She hadn't married him for love but she had respected his emotional stability. Unfortunately, he had his pressure points and implying that he and Shimiko were anything less than the most devoted of husband-wife was one of those points. He walked towards Yua and Shimiko super-imposed herself between the two of them.

"That's enough! Stop fighting or I'll kill you both!" Shimiko shouted.

It was dark and there was no one around at this hour but she didn't want to risk someone seeing her househould in disorder. They were all family and she wanted them to put up a united front at all times. There'd be no public infighting amongst her people especially not at a time like this.

Yui tried to do damage control but it was too little too late. Vik allowed Shimiko to stop him from getting in Yua's face. He backed off but not before delivering a last jab. The truth was that he had always liked the twins. Both of them were good kids. Loyal, dutiful, strong, and obedient. He wished his own bastards were so well behaved. Whatever happened to Yua recently must have been tragic to have engendered such a radical shift in personality. Whatever the cause, he did not like it and if he kept it up, Vik vowed to deliver the discipline that Shimiko never could.

"Of course Yui....I love you both as though you were my own children. I'm here for whatever you need. I suggest that you let Yua wait outside the operating room though. I can be your attending physician. Your brother is clearly drunk, I can smell the alcohol from here and judging from his past behavior we can't risk contaminating the surgical space with gonorrhea."

Shimiko gave Vik a dirty look and he threw up his hands.

"But let's cease with the pleasantries." He turned to Seigi. "Do you have the serum? If so, I'd like to give it a brief examination while I prep the operating room
" if given the item, Vik would slip it into his lab coat pocket. "Okay, let's head inside and get to work. As Yui said, you're in good hands Seigi. You'll make it through this." He didn't convey the words with a significant degree of emotion but there was a quiet confidence in his tone. Next to Yua, Seigi was beginning to seem not so bad.

Vik unlocked the hospital and led them inside. Shimiko walked next to Yui and Yua while they made their way to the surgery wing of the building. Shimiko was so angry at Yua she could hardly look at him and so instead she conversed with Yui.

"Thank you Yui. I trust you to do this right. We'll only get one shot at this."

Vik led them to a waiting room. He took the perfectly preserved Uzumaki liver from Shimiko, entered the operating room, and made the final preparations. After a few minutes, he emerged wearing surgical scrubs and a mask.

"The serum is in impeccable condition and the operating room is sterile. Seigi.....its time. Proceed to the changing room and get undressed. We will meet you inside and put you under."

Vik wasn't happy to see Seigi either, which gave him comfort in a weird way. It was consistent, which meant at the very least he was honest. But as if on cue, the Twins would make their appearance, with Yua walking up to Seigi and wrapping his arm around him, giving him a pep talk about a night on the town. Seigi couldn't help but crack a smile at the thought of them in town, even though he knew how much chaos it would cause if the former dead Kage randomly showed up in the Red Light District.

    "Hahaha, alright, you've got a-"

As Seigi spoke to agree, however, Yua kept going, also insulting Vik, calling him the DNA donator. Seigi had to use every ounce of power within him to not openly laugh, but as Vik commented back, Seigi couldn't help but lose his composure, coughing violently to disguise his laughs, wiping his mouth with his sleeve.

The blood was dark, smeared against the cloth, a reminder of time running out.

As always, Yui seemed to be a bit more levelheaded, addressing Vik and showing gratitude, while Shimiko got Seigi's attention, telling him she had the liver. Asking for the serum, he would nod, reaching into his pocket to reveal the vial that contained the serum. Now that they knew they had everything they needed, Vik proceeded to unlock the hospital, allowing the group inside. The dark and empty hallways reminded him of The Blood Prison and the time he had spent there. Hesitating momentarily, he would move forward, following the group. As Vik prepped the operating room, Seigi would breathe, meditating to lower his anxiety. Vik's voice broke him from his trance, however, telling him it was time. Walking over to Shimiko, he would give her a hug.

"I trust Vik and Yui. I'll be fine."
He would say, letting her go. He would give her a large smile and a big thumbs up. "If not, I'll just haunt Vik for the rest of his life." He would say, joking. Moving to Yua, he would fist bump him.

"I'm taking you up on that offer, by the way. Guys night out when I'm healed, yeah?" He would ask. From there, he would enter the changing room. Taking off his robe, he would observe his own body, looking at the countless scars that littered his body. He would take the wrap off of his right arm, revealing it's purple, discolored form, a reminder of his days with Hokuai. Taking his eyepatch off, he would observe his glossed over right eye, wondering if the Fuuingan truly died with him. Putting on the surgery gown, he would tie his hair back, and proceed towards the surgery room, ready for this curse to finally be lifted. As much hell as Vik gave him, Seigi knew that he could trust Vik because Vik had something to lose; if Seigi died, he knew Shimiko would never forgive him. He trusted Yui's abilities without question.

Yua listed to Vik as he felt enraged, this piece of shit was talking to him like that as his eyes would begin to glow red before Yui would move over toward Yua and smack him across the face. This was a shock to him as she had never done something like that before but it was clear she was angry, this was the day to save someone dear to them, and here he was being drunk and smelling of some skank woman. She didn't like Vik at all but she had far more faith in his ability to help her than her own brother.

"Yua I think its best you leave, I know how you are feeling but you won't be of any use in your current state. We are here to save a life I can't afford a mistake and you being here will just distract me and possibly make me make a mistake, go cool down somewhere, and think about your actions."

Yua looked shell shocked as he went to speak and moved toward his sister as in to say sorry but she held her arm out, this was something she needed to do for a while, he was becoming something she didn't like. It hurt her to be this way as Yua would slam his fist into the ground and glare at Vik.

"Fuck you dude, I hate your piss ass self, you know what fuck you guys I am out of here if he dies because I didn't help don't blame me."

He would storm off in anger as Yui turned and smiled toward Shimiko but she clearly looked pained as she had tears in her eyes, this was the most painful thing she had ever done. She would calm herself and make her shaking stop, this was not the time to be emotional, she had to take care of him first before she would go look for her brother.

"Let us get to this, his health is declining rapidly and we need to get to work right away, Vik I trust you to help me, please don't fail me if you do you're a dead man."

She would quickly rush inside with Seigi at her side as she entered the room for the surgery she would begin to get herself clothed with her breathing deeply, she would wait until Vik was ready but this had to happen fast. She could tell Seigi breathing was already being hampered and the blood she saw was a dead give away he had little time to spare.

"When we start Shimiko I need to ask you to wait outside, we can't have any distractions Vik and I need to focus very hard to make sure this goes off without a hitch. I am sorry to ask this of you but do not worry we will take good care of him."

Yua would storm off away from the hospital as he pondered if he should stick around, he would simply scoff at that idea and head off to the closest bar to drink his problems away.

Post by Shimiko Chinoike Mon Sep 21, 2020 4:33 pm

When Shimiko saw how violently Seigi was coughing and the blood that he had produced, she went still. He was dying. There was no sugarcoating it. If they didn't get this done and get it done right, he'd be dead in a week or less. She was about to rush over to her brother when the spat between Yua and her husband escalated. Shimiko was afraid she'd have to get involved when suddenly Yui slapped Yua. Shimiko stared at the elder twin with a look of complete surprise. She had never seen the twins fight before. Never. The idea that Yui was even capable of striking her brother was so far-fetched it might as well have been Genjutsu. Ever since Shimiko had adopted them, she hadn't ever witnessed them come to blows. They didn't even get into arguments let alone physical combat. They never sparred each other, never raised their voices at one another, heck, Yua had never even expressed vocal disagreement with Yui. Shimiko had thought it weird given that even she and Seigi had argued once in a blue moon. She was just a kid back then but that didn't mean she always saw eye to eye with her older brother. She had even once tried to throw things at him during one of her worst pre-teen temper tantrums. The pair were very close and the fact that they had fought whilst Yui and Yua never even disagreed with each other was strange beyond words. Over the course of six years she had become accustomed to the nature of their bond, but today, it all came crashing down.

Shimiko was too stunned to even chastise them. She remained silent as Yui dismissed her younger brother. He was indeed drunk and she couldn't risk Seigi's life. Even if it hurt Yua's feelings he had to go. Yua cursed Vik and stomped off. The older man didn't reply. He didn't even give an outward indication of satisfaction. Though he felt vindicated, he was mature enough to bear his victory gracefully. Trying to kick Yua while he was down would only turn everyone against him and so he turned to let them in the building as planned. Shimiko for her part wanted to go after him but a part of her knew that he needed some time to be alone.

"Let us get to this, his health is declining  rapidly and we need to get to work right away, Vik I trust you to help me, please don't fail me if you do you're a dead man."

    "I wouldn't dream of it"

Once they had gotten inside and Vik had prepped the surgery room, Shimiko accepted her brother's hug. She held him close but not too tightly. He was ill and she didn't want to risk damaging him in the slightest. She tried to hold back the tears as she embraced Seigi.

"You're not allowed to die on me....not again. Please make it. Please come out of that room."

When he joked about haunting Vik, she laughed and wiped a tear from her cheek. Vik gave a light chuckle. If the young man was in good spirits then it'd increase the chance of a positive outcome. He didn't like Seigi but he took no pleasure in someone dying of disease. He had taken an oath to help the sick of his village. This Seigi was an alien, a foreigner, someone who didn't belong in this universe, but he was his wife's brother and a shinobi of Kumogakure. That was enough for Vik to do everything in his power to save the young man's life.

Yui instructed Shimiko to wait outside. Shimiko nodded and gave Yui a big hug.

"I believe in you....you can do this."

Shimiko was not blessed with knowledge of medicine. It was a gift that Jashin had not given her. She had always looked down on it but now she truly appreciated the wonder of Ijutsu. She was glad that Jashin had brought the Twins into her life. Everything was for a reason and right now she hoped that the Dark Lord would not take her brother from her again. Shimiko exited the wing and waited outside the hospital building. She sat on a nearby bench and began to pray to Jashin. Death was not something to be feared and if it was what God wanted then she'd try to conform her will to his own. But in her deepest of spirits she didn't feel as though it was Seigi's time yet, and so she begged Jashin to let him stay with her a while longer. She knew that she could not have her brother forever but today was simply too soon.

Meanwhile back at the hospital, Vik laid Seigi down on the operating table and put him under via respiratory anesthetic. There was a small table with surgical tools right next to them. The Uzumaki liver was on an adjacent structure. The organ was held up by a metallic contraption and even disembodied it appeared to be alive. Vik produced an syringe filled with the black serum. He injected it into the cadaver and the bio-chemical reaction was like nothing they'd ever seen before. Black veins spread across the organ and it appeared to smoke before finally settling into a more natural color. The liver was ready for transplantation.

Vik set down the needle and reached into his scrubs. He grasped the pendant on his neckchain and kissed it. It was the symbol of Baphomet, the Chinoike Clan's mascot. Vik shut his eyes and held up his hands in prayer. He was not a religious man, but he kept the customs of his people and that included reverence to the goat demon. He figured Yui would also want a chance to pray during an operation this important, but he wouldn't hold it against her if she did not. Once he was done, he sterilized his hands and handed Yui the scalpel.

"Lead the way. I am at your service" Normally, Vik would do the surgery himself but this was a special case. He was old school and his knowledge while seasoned, was not as fresh as someone who had just received their surgical privileges. Yui had a fresher perspective on unorthodox cases such as these and Shimiko trusted Yui to get the job done. He was here to assist and make her job as easy as possible.

Going under way always strange for Seigi. Like a feverdream, often riddled with hallucinations, Seigi fell feet first into his mind, slipping into his unconscious as the outside world continued onward. Familiar faces seemed to whiz by him at incredible speeds, only able to recognize quick glimpses of features of freinds and foes past. He would close his eyes, embracing the falling feeling as he drifted to sleep.

"How long will this persist?" Seigi heard in a familiar tone. A body seemed to form around the voice in an empty black void, Kira once again visiting his unconscious. "How long will you persist in this world, pretending to play ninja?" He would ask, a hint of anger in his tone, which was out of character for the Sage.

"However long is necessary for this world to not follow our world's mistakes."
Seigi would reply. His answer seemed to take Kira off guard, the man reeling back from his outburst. "And let's be honest, what do I have to return to? A sword in my gut? Exile?" Seigi would ask, cocking his head slightly. "I have NOTHING there. No family, loved ones dead or betrayed. What the hell am I supposed to do?" Seigi would yell, getting into Kira's face. "I have a family here, Kira. For the first time in my life, I feel wanted. And you want to take that away from me?" He would ask. Kira would be silent, a look of defeat in his eyes.

"I guess I should come clean then; our world is gone."

    Seigi would stop.
    "What?"
"Our world is gone. Shortly after you disappeared, someone, or something, brought the moon down onto the planet. Everything is gone. Even me." He would say, looking to the ground. "The only reason I am able to contact you is because I have your father's Fuuingan. That connection lets my spirit transcend to reach you."

"I don't buy any of that bullshit, Kira."

Yui would begin to get her scrubs on as she would also pull out a text and begin to pray before the surgery if he was to die she at least wanted him to become part of Jashin. She had no plans to let him die, however. She began to proceed with the surgery working delicately to remove the organ she was replacing, his insides were a mess had she not started today there was a good chance he was dead. This disease was destroying him from the inside out but thanks to having a Senju organ they had a chance to save his life.

"Okay, I need to you carefully cut the upper portion here and make sure to clamp it, with his internal wounds we don't have long before his body will attempt to shut down. Once you clamp it let me know so I can pull it out and quickly replace the organ. We need it in as fast as possible to have it take effect and begin to regenerate all this damage he has inside his body."

She would wait to see him snip and clamp it as she removed the old organ and placed the new organ, with the miracle drug as she called it making sure his body cant reject the organ she worked tirelessly for hours as after a long surgery she did it with her connecting the organ and waiting with held breath to see if it was accepted. Suddenly she could see it his body would begin to quickly regenerate making her sigh in relief. It appeared to have been accepted and working now as she sighed in relief.

"I think we can close him up now, I can see the organs beginning to repair themselves, we will still watch his vital for any signs of struggle but good work Vik, maybe your not as bad of a guy as I thought."

Vik followed Yui's instructions to the letter. He responded in the affirmative and proceeded to make an incision as requested. The Chinoike Clan Leader then placed a clamp at critical cardiovascular and lymphatic points. Seigi's internal state was beyond hope of salvation. If he wasn't a seasoned surgeon, he would have panicked. Anyone else should have died weeks ago given this condition. He remained calm and finished his work without complaint though. Now was not the time for astonishment, it was time for action.

"Incision complete. Clamps in place. Ready to transplant at your command"

Vik wasn't a fighter. He wasn't a shinobi that toured the battlefields like his wife. His work was to be done in the hospital. The operating table was his plane of combat and he'd be just as relentless as his spouse was. Although instead of taking life, he opted to save it. As Vik monitored Seigi's vitals, Yui worked to implant the organ into his body. The operation's success was immediate and obvious. The Uzumaki kekkei genkai began to work its magic and over the course of a few minutes, the damage started to repair itself.

"Flawless success..." the man whispered. Vik looked up at Yui and smiled. "I aim to please Ms. Yui Chinoike" Vik would then help sew Seigi back up. The stitching work was simple and using Ijutsu they could complete this part without leaving any scars. Once it was done, Vik would continue to monitor Seigi's vitals while he waned him off of the anesthetic. Eventually, the young man would come to. "You did it Yui...you saved his life. I think you might want to get Shimiko in here"

He didn't say anything about Yua. If the young man came back, he'd probably leave. Seigi was closer to the Twins and Shimiko. He'd give them space if necessary. This was a joyous moment and there was no reason that bad blood between the two of them should ruin the day.

Kira seemed unphased by Seigi's comments, but as he began to speak, the scene would shift again as the light seemed to recede and everything grew dark again.

    "Remember my words."
Kira would say, dissipating into the darkness.
"Your new home may be next."

And with those final words, Kira was gone and the light from the medical room would spill into sight, two figured standing over him to which he quickly gathered was Vik and Yui. The fact that he was waking up must have meant they succeeded. Weakly, Seigi would begin to recover, putting his hand between himself and the light. His abdomen hurt slightly, but was mostly numb, and overall he was already feeling... great?

Slowly, he would gather himself, sitting up slowly, sure to take his time.
"I guess I owe you one." Seigi would say directly to Vik, smiling to him, and then to Yui. "Both of you. I...." He would trail off, unable to find the proper words. Taking a deep breath, he would close his eyes, leaning back into the bed, and smile widly as tears began to leak from his eyes. His entire life, he knew that the same sickness that claimed his father would eventually come for him. He had been prepared to die because of it, but it always gave him this underlying anxiety about when. A life with a fuse. But now, the future was brighter than ever. When Shimiko would walk in, Seigi would open his eyes, clearing the tears, with the back of his hand.

"Guess who lived." He would joke to her.

Yui breathed a sigh of relief as she was finished, she would widely smile as he awoke with his normal sense of humor, at least he was alive and seemingly well. Yui would step out and motion for Shimiko to come inside, she was sure she wanted to dolt over her brother as she began to clean up with a smile on her face. It did not feel so bad saving a life instead of taking a life, she could get used to this feeling. She had saved orphans from starving before but it did not have the same feeling as this did to her, this was special.

"I am glad you are okay, and Shimiko you know it felt really good saving a life, maybe we should do this more someday."

She would move to hug him as she was worried and even showed a tear in her eye, she was so happy he was okay as Vik made his way out of the room Yui could not seem more pleased. She would offer to hug both Shimiko and Seigi before she would make her way out fo the room, she had stuff to take care of.

"I am off for now but we need to have a big feast to celebrate you living, we hope you both will come it will be two days from now, make sure you are there. I need to track down my idiot brother, I hope he isn't getting into to much trouble."

With that said she was gone to search for her clueless brother hoping and praying he was okay.

When Yui arrived and motion for her to come inside, Shimiko ran at her top seed into the operating room. She almost bowled over Yui in doing so. When she saw Seigi awake and smiling. She grinned with glee and replied:

"Only the best big bro in the world!"

She ran over and hugged him closely. She was glad that he was healthy and okay. When Yui mentioned she enjoyed saving lives, Shimiko could not blame her. She never really got Ijutsu but if it gave her Twins the power to save a family member then there was no way it could be all that bad. The Chinoike smiled and said:

"Yui you are the best surgeon in Kumogakure! You have my permission to save as many lives as you see fit"
    "Hey now I helped!"

Shimiko boo'd Vik and he only laughed. The Chinoike Clan Leader gave Seigi a quick salute and then made himself scarce. This was a close family affair and he had done his job.

"Glad that you pulled through Seigi" he added on a final note before leaving.

Shimiko turned to Yui "Wouldn't miss it for the world and when you see your knucklehead brother....slap him for me but not before you give him a big hug and tell him I'm worried about him. Really worried." Yua was drifting off into something she hadn't really encountered before. He drank too much, whored too often, and he seemed to have a big chip on his shoulder. It was troubling. She'd square that away later though, for now she helped Seigi out of the bed. Once he got changed they could head out and get back to the Tower. He'd need a bit of rest and once he was feeling better, she'd book him an appointment with the illustrious Miyu Ryuutei.

(This post is a flashback post)

Yui spoke of a feast in his honor for surviving, and Seigi was honestly at a loss for words. No one had ever thrown him something like that before, and the gesture of kindness was honestly more than he knew how to handle. He would grin to Yui, nodding his head.

"A feast? I'll make sure to come hungry." He would tell her, his mind already drifting to all of the foods that the twins would no doubt go all out on. He was thankful for Yui and Yua and the family they had become to him, even despite their crazy dynamic. If you had told the old Seigi that he would some day be kin to a group of Jashinists, he would call you crazy, but this world was a little bit crazier than his, and for that he was thankful.

Shimiko came in to hug Seigi and exchange words with the Twins and Vik, and in this moment, he saw a much more human side of Vik than he had seen previously. Almost joking with Shimiko, Seigi smiled as he saw that the man wasn't all frowns and seriousness, perhaps even having a lighter side to him, but he quickly left the room, leaving the trio alone together.

"I am thankful for all of you. Really. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for both of you, and Yua as well." Seigi would say, feeling especially sentimental. "I have been given the gift of a family and I don't know how to properly convey how I feel, but.... Thank you." He would say, giving them another teary-eyed grin. The curse that had haunted him his entire life was now gone, and for some odd reason, he felt very at home in this strange, strange universe now.
