    Appearance:

Hana lounged on a black leather couch in the employee lounge within the Mizukage Complex building, which has taken a different form from its classic stone cylindrical structure. The modern Mizukage Complex was a tall skyscraper building fairly modernized. The trick with the Mizukage Complex is that the Mizukage Office alternated weekly, changing floor and room number as part of protocol. The office location could also be changed at will of the Mizukage if they ever felt unsafe or targeted. But currently Hana was on her lunch break, contemplating simply going home for the rest of the day. She never really had a schedule to abide by unless she had appointments set, which lucky for her there were none for today. But it was the Kage's responsibility to stay on top of the work that needed to be done, such as budgeting.

The job was easy, but not as physical as she would have preferred. She feared that staying as an office worker for too long would make her butt flat. It wasn't normal to be locked in a seat for hours on end which was why she generally tried to find any excuse to leave her office. Hana had Hiramekarei perched up against the couch arm leaning against the armrest being within arm's reach of Hana if she ever needed to spring into action. The teak coffee table before her had a small banquet of junk food. She had two different kinds of burgers, one being a classic double deluxe while the other a signature favorite of hers featuring a meat chili and liquid cheese, onion rings, fries, and a large soda.

She had eaten half of both burgers choosing to work on them equally as she did with the sides she had with her meal. Leaning back in her couch she had her drink cup in her offhand while mindlessly switching from channel to channel with a remote in the other trying to find something to sate her boredom. Three of her royal guards remained idol in the break room with her minding their own business not to disturb Hana unless something urgent were to come up. Being Hana's own personal guards they were delighted to know Hana's changed relationship status. They didn't really know she wasn't single as she never bothered to tell them, but Hana began to bathe almost daily now since her date with Chigetsu. The sudden shift in hygiene habits suggested something major happened to her, and rumor has it that following her dating application request she put out a week ago, she landed herself a suitor.

    Honor.

A single word had so much control over her life. The honor of her family. The honor of her allies. The honor of her village. The honor she had for herself. The honor people placed upon her. Honor. Responsibility. Devotion. All of them tied her down, like a chained beast who was already bound to a cage. It was burdening. Having it all stripped from her so young, gave her a sense of freedom, but in exchange, she had an emptiness that burrowed deep inside, that could never be filled without the sense. The weapon she now wielded, that brought her honor.

But it would never fill the void.

Rei took her stand, waiting outside of the large building. A black dress shirt with simple white pin stripes that went downwards. Wooden buttons, each of them carved uniquely, each different from each other. The long sleeves covering her markings and tattoos. An open collar to reveal the slate gray shirt underneath. Her silk navy blue pants held up by a white belt with an ebony buckle. It was almost nicer than what she usually wore, save for her feet which remained bare for the most part. Wrapped cloth covered her heels and up her ankle, hidden under her pants. Her feet stood upon the ground of her village, as she looked up to the building. It was a tower, and unlike before, it was much different than what she remembered,

She sighed, opening the door and entering, her large blade wrapped in bandages, like the same cloth on her feet, but in a manner some would find familiar to Samehada. She had her reasons for doing do, but still it was unknown to the world. The leather straps that went across her chest and over her right shoulder held the large weapon, as her right arm remained in a short of brace that went over her sleeve.

She went into the building, her hair loose, and brushed back. It was neat, but not as tidy as it usually was. She was unsure as to why she came here, but still, she might as well thank the kage.

The door opened catching the attention of Hana's guards, and Hana herself. The break room was on the first floor where the lobby in its own room. It was protocol for the guards to be always vigilant of changes in the environment when on duty. It was almost natural for the ANBU making Hana feel less guilty in letting her own guard down, though that didn't mean her own curiosity and passive perception wouldn't notice a draft and a visitor. She turned her head over her shoulder, catching the glimpse of a white haired woman forcing her to double-take to see if it was anybody familiar...but immediately discounted it. Her memory didn't serve her well enough to identify the woman and frankly she didn't want to bother at that point. She had burgers and television to mess with. Her guards on the other hand knew exactly who the visitor was.

The administrative clerk at the front desk turn her head up from her work and greeted Rei as she strolled in. "Welcome! How can I help you? If you wish to see the Mizukage, she is currently at lunch right now." She said preemptively, knowing well that this woman was a Jounin of Kirigakure. Not by name, but the large blade she carried looked awfully like one of Kirigakure's artifacts. She could be mistaken, and if she was, there was no harm in her presumption. Hana heard the clerk from the break room, her nerves relaxing confident that there was nothing urgent she needed to attend to and she could resume back to doing nothing. The guards would remain tuned into the conversation in the lobby as it was their status quo.

The blade rested on her back, the handle of it resting on Rei's belt, her weapon of choice compared to the large blade. Even so, she had a reason to fight the way she did. She approached the desk, unnerved at all of the changes. it felt weird, almost like it had became a business. Even so, she had only came into the building a handful of times since she had returned to the village, mostly keeping to herself.

"Oh." Rei heard the words, and feared her own time had been wasted. "Forgive me. Would it be alright to wait, or should I come back another time?" She looked around for seat, but to think of what to do with the blade when seated, only gave her more problems to solve. "Is there somewhere I'm allowed to wait?"

She had came on a whim, and now that she was here it felt strangely wrong. But she owed her word to the kage, but if she would not see her, then so be it, she would just go home and do as she normally did. But she felt it was wrong to take the relic of the village and not let her know who was the one keeping it. That was how things used to be, how they were supposed to be. Was it different now? Or was she simply chosen because of some other predetermined factor? Sure, she was a Kaguya, but Rei was no such thing, not anymore. She was a Hozuki now, even if her body was filled with bones rather than the composition of water.

She was a Hozuki now. She was always going to be a Hozuki.

"Oh...forgive me. Would it be alright to wait?"

Hana's pulse raised again. She intended on waiting an hour or so just to speak with her? She was persistent for sure and clearly had nothing better to do all day. Part of her would feel guilty if she made the girl wait for hours as she finished her lunch. Hana figured it would likely be best just to get it over with now than later. From the breakroom she hollered into the lobby. "I'm here, just send her in!" Grabbing the deluxe she had before her she'd take a mean bite from it, a drip of ketchup falling onto the carpet flooring. Reaching for a disposable napkin she'd pat her face down and squeegee her fingers individually to free them of any grease or crumbs. The clerk gestured Rei into the breakroom where Hana and three others resided.

Despite meeting somebody, Hana didn't really change. No stand up, no greeting, and not even acknowledging who would eventually pass through the doorway. She instead reclined back into the couch and threw up both legs on the table, her soda-and-remote hand combo resuming naturally. The Mizukage could be described as a middle-aged man with her diet that was sure to give health problems by forty to the average man and a fluoride stare towards the idiot box across the room. Hana would cross her lounged legs maintaining direct eye contact to the television screen remaining unmoved by any changes in her environment unless expectations would shift. But currently all Hana expected was more work on her end.

    First impressions.

They mattered the most when you were tied much closer to people. Rei herself would not have the faintest clue of the relationship between both the kage she was now trying to meet, and her own son. It was perhaps for the better to not connect the dots. Her mind would be thrown to a different state to even just attempt the position she would find herself in. She did not come to confront the female who managed to attract Chigetsu and bring him out of his own bubble, nor meet with a Kaguya she had no intentions to be related to once more. She was here for formalities, at least steps that would have been taken decades ago. This building however, had an entirely different air about it.

The sound of the kage's voice did offer a bit of comfort that she would be seen right away. Motioned to move, she would follow with a slight bow to thank for the guidance. Rei would step into the doorway, her eyes glancing for just a moment over the guards before falling onto the Kage. She would have been caught off guard, but still, it seemed she was interrupting a break, or lunch for the woman. Immediately, she bowed, her right hand holding the side of her blade, to allow it to fall to her side, to ensure anyone behind her would not be hit with the blade. Her left hand folded over her chest as she lowered her head, and her body, holding her position.

"Forgive me, Mizukage," she would speak, no introduction, not meaning to take any more time than required. After all, to the kage, she would just be another resident, a name to be lost in the mass of others. Even if now, her name held some value, compared to the Kage, she felt like she was nothing. "I did not mean to intrude on your meal. I only wished to both thank you for allowing me to possess the executioner's blade for the time being, as well as inform you that I will not fail you."

her body hung, waiting for the command to rise once more. She was not one to disobey orders.

Hana heard Rei but paid no attention. But until she started to talk about anything important. That's generally how these things went. Whoever the speaker was had some sort of introduction and generally kissed her ass for the opportunity for an audience, something she found annoying and often muted after hearing it the first few times. Rei was different, however, starting off with an apology. It peaked her interest for a moment, Hana stopping the channel surfing to direct her attention towards the woman. She was a bit on the tall side, white hair, and pale skin. She could easily be mistaken as a Kaguya. She spoke very cordially and apparently was not aware of contractions. She must be autistic... Hana silently judged. She's worse than that Calis guy, The Supreme Gentleman. I wonder if she owns a sunhat. The sunhat, of course, being the female equivalent to the fedora. But then she snapped back to reality as the sudden realization hit her.

Rei didn't really tell her anything.

"Wat." Hana said sharply and obnoxiously to broadcast a feeling of annoyance. "Why?" She was confused. What was her deal? Did this girl really seek out her, not to mention she was even willing to wait hours for her to finish her lunch, just to tell her 'thanks' for letting her use a sword? Hana didn't know how to respond, or even if she should continue to acknowledge her at that point. "It's just a sword, dude. It's not a big deal." Hana tried to rationalize her point of view on the situation to hope Rei would understand that the Executioner's Blade was, in fact, just a sword and to never do anything so cringe in her presence again. Hana generally had to digest a lot of professional mannerisms when dealing with the public and officials. It was no surprise to say she got tired of it.

    "It's just a sword.

Just a sword. Just a sword. Just a sword that had no value. A blade that held no importance. A weapon no longer prized to the village. Even if her name was tied to it, even if the files were made, it was still, or at least, used to have a purpose. Now, years later, it held nothing. A worthless weapon that was just handed out to nameless jounin of the village. A nameless weapon passed to a nameless servant of the village. It was no start to her reclaiming her honor. After it all, she made no progress. After all those years, she was still worthless to the Kaguya, to the village, and to the kage. It must have been the only reason she was able to wield the weapon. The only reason someone like her could have it for the time being. She, like the blade, was just another person.

Still, her body remained bowed, and Hana could not see the expression on Rei's face as she begun to process the situation.

"O-Of course..." she would say, only to now lift herself, standing straight, moving the wrapped blade to her back as it was before. Her right hand would nervously reach to the strap around her chest as her left begun to fidget with her pocket, finding no proper way to rest. She moved her foot to turn around to leave. "Forgive me for bothering you then, Mizukage." And she would begin to turn, and leave.

There was no point in wasting the Mizukage's precious time.

Following what Hana said she noticed the girl was petrified. She kept her bow longer than what was socially acceptable, as if she was in shock. Finally she spoke in a stutter. "What? Were you expecting me to wash your feet? We don't do that kiss ass stuff. By the way, just call me Hana. There's a reason I don't wear those robes and that silly hat." Hana said matter-of-factly, pointing a finger at her head. No hat. Not even a forehead protector, which was one of the more basic identifier all ninja wore. One would expect the Kage of a village to have one or the other. But not Hana. She was extra special.

"But anyways, is that all you came here to say? You could've just, like, sent a message or something. Not that I really care. I mean, I guess the sword is special. It's pretty sharp." Hana said now realizing she may have lost a bit of her patience when first meeting the girl. I mean to come down here and thank her personally meant the sword was probably a big deal to her.

The kage pointed to her head, of which, Rei could see her point. Perhaps without the formal garments, she wanted to have an informal setting? It was strange, it didn't quite sit well, but if that was what the mizukage requested, then so be it. The words almost seemed insulting, except it seemed as if Rei was the one who insulted the Mizukage. She stared blankly at her, trying to piece together the events. Was it the age of the kage, or was it simply the time that had passed since her last interaction with any kage? What was this world coming to? Or was it simply because she was a Kaguya?

Rei would bow again, taking a step backwards, but not yet turning around. "That was all I came here to say." the woman spoke, "I understand now that times have changed. I won't take up any more of your time. I'll send a letter next time. Thank you for seeing me, Miss Hana." She would give a slight bow, before getting ready to leave once more. If there was nothing else to say, then there was no reason for her to stay any longer. All of it was uncomfortable. She was a fossil now in this moving and growing society. Not even the swords held value, not to anyone but herself it seemed. They were just weapons.

"Then I will see to it, they all have value." She thought to herself. "The Sevenswordmen..." A dream, reduced to dust. A title that no longer meant anything.

    "Wait!"

Hana said, springing out of her chair. She was unsure what she was doing. It was almost like her body moved against her will. She couldn't describe what she was feeling. Deep down there was an emotion of guilt. So much so that it weighed down on her stomach tarnishing her appetite for her burger feast. Hana very much lacked a filter in her day to day life, and sometimes let her impulsive nature get the best of her. And that often times spilled into her work life of being Kage. "Please, take a seat. What is your name?" Hana gestured to the couch cushion next to her offering Rei a chance to sit with her.

"I didn't mean it like that. I'm s-" Her teeth clenched mentally forcing herself to say the word. That word rarely came out of her lips as Hana generally didn't like apologizes. It seemed weak and cuckish to ask for forgiveness. But with a few seconds of struggling clear on her face, it came out. "..Sorry if things came out the way they did. It's just that it's my first time dealing with this. That kind of etiquette just doesn't really exist nowadays. My parents taught me about it when I was young, but it never really practiced growing up. And with how fast Kirigakure and the clan district modernized, the virtues of respect and honor were quickly written off. Not that it's good or bad..."

A half turn paused at the strange sound. The sounds of movement as she landed onto her feet from her position of rest. She truly was disturbing the woman. A long day of mindless paperwork, interrupted by an old woman who just wanted to express her thanks. A moment spent, wasted in what could have been written. Maybe it was something physical, that would have more worth than the art of spoken word. Maybe, it was something to be filed upon other memories of great thanks and gratitude. But it didn't seem to be the case. She knew what she was like now. Little moments were wasted. She had a village to run. She didn't have time to entertain a mother's lost dream.

She looked, spinning her head slowly, unsure of what was about to happen. But she could not say no, not when the kage asked for her company. To the great Mizukage, she was just another servant. Another life that would be laid on the line to save a hundred more. It was the price of shinobis to pay. The toll of blood. Reluctantly, she turned, only to offer a quick glance at the officers. At this moment, if she was to sit, she needed to remove the blade, and she wasn't looking forward to getting assassinated for a misunderstanding. Her left hand held in front of her, an open palm as she slowly lifted her right to the blade. Taking the handle slowly out of her belt, she would place it in its place, screwing it in, and releasing the blade from her harness. She watched, making sure to not make any quick movements, her eyes trained on the ground. She would set the sword's tip lightly on the ground, before taking a seat, resting the blade at her side as she leaned on it.

She sat silently as the girl spoke, trying to come to terms with the new world. "You shouldn't apologize to me." she would say, "If anything, I was in the wrong for making you take the time out of your day." She stared forward, into emptiness, not looking at her, or the others in watch. Her hands rested on her lap.

"Akeruseirei Hozuki, Miss Hana." She bowed her head, hanging low as she listened. Everything she was taught, everything she was raised in believing, where simply discarded. To this village, she was a relic of a time lost. She was ancient, like a myth lost to time, rewritten and twisted as it was told. She was a fossil, who was outdated, and obsolete. She was insignificant.

But, deep down, she was happy to have finally possess the blade she admired most. Even if it was just a sword.

A persistent guilt continued to burden over the Mizukage's shoulders as their interaction continued. The way the girl cautiously and orderly removed the sword from her possession and gingerly retired to the seat besides her. Hana could tell she was broken. Shocked at the new world she existed in. But she was wrong. This was not the 'new world.' This was Hana's. Rei did what any subservient Jounin would do and take the blame for Hana's own ignorance. In her efforts to try and comfort the boomer she asked her name...and that's when the lights turned.

    Akeruseirei Hozuki...

The name was vaguely familiar. Too familiar. She was bad with names and often forgot them the moment after learning them, but for never having met the woman before it had too much significance. Strolling down memory lane she remembered what Chigetsu said back in their date a couple days ago. Chigetsu was half Kaguya, his mother taking the Hozuki name. And she specifically remembered his mom's name, mostly because it was hard to pronounce. "Oh! Y-You're Bubble's mother! I mean, Chigetsu's!" Hana figured Rei would be a bit happier to know she was related to her son in a way.

"Chigetsu is, or should I say, was my student. He has exceeding his rank. And, well, he is more than a student to me now." Hana said almost skittishly. It was pretty awkward now that thought about. When recalling the things they've done together it was weird to have a normal conversation about someone's child.

    Akeruseirei Hozuki
    Kirigakure's Exporter
She was a wolf among sheep, only blending in with a coat to match their wool. She lay in wait, trying to become one of them, renouncing her ways. Even if they accepted her, even if she looked the part, she could never be one of them. It wasn't her people, no matter how badly she wanted to be. It didn't matter what she did. She would never belong. SHe could only hope that her son, would not bear the same, but instead have the ability to walk between both sides of her life without issue. A boy who could freely walk through either district with joy, without discrimination. All she had now, was a husband to tie her to the district. When he died, then what? Would she stay for the reason of her son? Even if he no longer lived with her? Where was she to go? She wasn't a Kaguya, not anymore. She wasn't a Hozuki, even with the name. She would be alone again. Not even the company of maids and servants in her home would be able to solve that. But that was how she preferred it. It was just as she wished for...

"Bubble?" What kind of name was that? Was it an insult, or some back handed compliment? What crazy absurd thing did her son have to do to earn a name like that? Did he take anything seriously? Or perhaps, it was one of high honor, having ended a battle with simply a bubble? Her mind flicked between all of the options, not sure to be proud or ashamed of her son, but even if she wanted to read the girl's face for a hint, she just couldn't face the Mizukage. Not like this. Not here. Not now.

But she listened, the conversation growing more and more odd. The sword, was it a gift to purchase her son? No, she was his teacher, right? He said he had a sensei. But if he was exceeding his rank, then he had grown since he had left. No, he didn't leave, she forced him out. She told him to leave. She wanted him to leave. It was the only way he could grow.

She smiled, nodding her head at the idea of her son exceeding the Mizukage's ability to teach was something to note. But was it? He could have been a student in a sea of many, or a single, hand picked student. What was the difference? Was he just a student or just her student?

She shook the thought. She could have easily been old enough to be the Kage's mother, that alone was something for her to process. She was a fossil, trying to speak to new life about a world she no longer knew. "That's good then." was all she could say.

Swords had nicknames too, even the worthless ones.

"I hope he has not given you much trouble then." she spoke, small words that disgusted her, but needed for her to break her silence. For once, she embraced the small conversation, even if it tore her soul.

"Miss Hana." She spoke, her face slightly turned, but her eyes unmoved. Both her hands rested on the blade, as if it was something that brought comfort, and it did. "Forgive me for asking, but are all of the swords in Kirigakure's possession?" She turned to face the Mizukage.

    She needed to know.
