Bird's are fucking stupid.
How can you tell you might ask? How about when two different birds smack into each other at the same, one carrying a missive, and the other a large wrapped bundle with a letter attached. It should be noted that the bird carrying the bundle was fucking huge for a damn bird too. Valris would raise an eyebrow at the commotion at the window as the two birds collided just outside of it, apparently oblivious to each others presence. The bird with the larger mass behind it won obviously, and birdzilla flew into his open window, dropped a box with a letter on it and flew out like nothing had happened.
'Fucking birds' The Oni would say as he opened the box to find a weapon that he hadn't expected to see while he was in Kirigakure. It would appear Shimiko managed to get back to her shop and forge the weapon he'd requested. Then sent it on here so he could get it as soon as possible. 'How thoughtful.' He'd think as he reached for the letter. As he did, the second bird would fly in now, flapping over, looking almost indignant as it did and drop the missive it carried toward him. This one had the seal of the local mission coordinators office. He looked at the letter that had come with the weapon and didn't see any particular seal. 'It must be personal' he would think before deciding that business came before personal letters. He opened the missive first and read it, noting that it was directions to get to the village gates for a mission with a team. 'Typical' He would say as he scooped up his shiny new sword, strapped it to his back where his meat cleaver had been before, took the personal letter to read on the way, and left.
