Shinsui decided to wait until the next day to take a rotation at the gates, helping out the guards by giving them some much needed time off. He was partnered with a Kirigakure shinobi, obviously, as they couldn’t let a foreigner guard their gates by himself. However the man seemed to appreciate the assistance. The visiting genin arrived ten minutes early, to the relief of one of the guards who left. His partner was only a few minutes behind and the other guard left, leaving the explanation of the duties of someone watching the gates to his partner. It was simple work, simply be vigilant, which Shinsui was more than willing to be. They talked amicably and passed the day away, watching those who came and went, searching them and checking them out or in as necessary.
It was boring work, but at least he had company who wasn’t driving him absolutely nuts. It gave Shinsui time to think about these exams. The first exam had been relatively simple all things considered. It was simply designed to make you overthink, specifically tailored to makes one mind work to try to figure out the problem before you with the answer sitting right in front of you. He doubted the second exam would be so simple, he would need to actually work for this one. Rather than deal with a bunch of idiots who were dead set on giving him a headache. He would have to deal with that as it came though, and as he thought these things, their shift change arrived. Shinsui bade his temporary partner farewell, and went to turn in his missions.
