Located outside of Kirigakure is a large training area designed for Genin aspiring to be Chuunin. It is built outside of the Metropolis' influence being entirely susceptible to the adverse weather conditions in the Land of Water. While still being apart of Kirigakure's city limits it takes place just outside of the walls being a half hour trek. The entire training area is surrounded by a tall, sturdy steel fence with the tops trimmed with razor wire. The fence is charged with an electrical current shocking anyone or anything attempting to enter or escape. The entire training area is ten kilometers in diameter requiring a five kilometer travel from any direction of the entrance to the center hub.
From the outside of the fence not much can be seen. The dense jungle which fills most of the outer layer is incredibly thick making it very uninhabitable to rest or forage. The outer layer approximately one kilometer thick. From below the canopy is it persistently dark with little light breaking through the top. This makes the ground bare of any vegetation besides spots of moss, but most of the vegetation coming from overgrow or fallen greenery from the trees and plants that surround it.
The mid layer, the largest, consists of three kilometers of notably less dense jungle with a lot more to offer from plentiful fresh water sources, old structures, and plenty of opportunity to forage. Some man made paths exist here from decades of ninja following the most convenient pathway. Sunlight breaks through the canopy making the mid layer the most survivable. But the bounty comes with competition as plenty of wildlife dwells in the mid layer to feed, drink, and sunbathe, as do ninja.
Lastly the inner portion of the training area serves as the hub. Situated on a small mountain with two large waterfalls cascading down which supply the jungle's many rivers, a person must hike up the fairly steep path to the top where a modern, cylindrical building made of stone with glass windows sat up top surrounded by a wall. Long cables run from the summit of this mountain down to the outside of the training area for non-participating personnel.
The packets the Genin received from their prior tournament would give them the instructions to arrive at this particular training area at a certain gate. On the top right of their packet is a single letter in red ink which told them which gate to report to. According to the instructions there would be another Genin with the same letter who will report to the same gate. This Genin would be your partner for the exam.
The packet included a list of general instructions...
1.) Absolutely no survival gear. Ninja participating in this exam may only have their basic tools, armor, weaponry, and a canteen. Provisions, camping supplies, shelter, or anything not in the aforementioned approved gear will be confiscated at the gate and kept secure for the remainder of the Survival Exam.
2.) No scavenging fallen opponents.
3.) No killing in cold blood. Accidents do happen, but refrain from senseless deaths.
4.) You will be given a relic when the exam starts at the guard checkpoint near your gate.
5.) Collect two relics in order to proceed to the next round. On the fifth day at noon you are to report to the building located at the center of the training area.
6.) Nine POI are scattered throughout the jungle which may contain a relic.
7.) Relics may be taken from opposing teams.
8.) Once the exam starts there will be no forfeiting. You and your partner must participate for the entire five days whether you pass or fail.
9.) In the case of emergencies you can contact on-site staff on frequency 25. Requesting assistance will result in failure for your team.
Each Genin will receive a modified headset at the guard checkpoint. This headset can only communicate on frequency 25 and serves as a means for emergency contact during this exam.
OOC:
If a team that has DM'd me first and began to search before your team, they will have the advantage of being the first to spot your team ICly if they are fortunate enough to find you.

OOC:
- Starting now, Genin are free to start their own topic in the same subforum titled "Team (x) Meetup." The x representing whatever letter you are assigned. If your partner already made a topic, post in that one. Do not make another topic.
- Upon posting you and your partner will receive one relic and a pair of headsets. Decide who will carry the relic. The relic is a single chess piece with a small Fuuinjutsu seal placed at the bottom.
- On February 1st, 12:00am EST the gates will open allowing you to begin finding another relic.
- These Exams last 5 Days IC, or 6 - 8 weeks IRL.
- All Living Expense bonuses are null except for those gained through Coor/Per.
- CP will be regenerated at a rate of 15% your character's max per day IC. Resting can be done multiple times in sequence, however resting more than one day in a row significantly increases your chance of being spotted.
- Food pills can only be used three times total throughout the Survival Exam. Alternatively, food pills can be used to increase your regeneration rate to 50% for one rest day. No more food pills can be used for the remainder of the Survival Exam by doing this.
- The tracks your team leaves behind goes off your team's lowest base Coordination. Tracking goes off your team's highest base Intelligence and Perception. How these work will be determined by DM.
- During the Survival Exam the five days will have a variety of weather conditions shown below in order:
Rain: A persistent drizzle of rain. Shallow puddles and plenty of moisture in the air, though nothing substantial.
Hard Rain: Frequent, heavy downpour. This causes flooding around all parts of the jungle.
Fog: A looming, dense fog which restricts visibility to 50 m.
Mostly Cloudy: An overcast blocks most of the sunlight making the jungle darker than normal.
Partly Cloudy: A few clouds scatter the skies, but the sun shines bright and blue skies can be seen. - When the exam begins, have one person from your team message me (Xurious on Discord) to begin your trial. Follow a rubric I will determine your team's success at finding a POI or another team. Logical advantages will be considered (flight for seeking or a legitimate way to cover tracks.) If you find another team I will DM them to notify they have been found and it will be your responsibility to make the topic and handle the confrontation. If you find a POI you will wait for me to post a topic and the adventure will go from there.
- The end of a topic counts as a day. From there you message for your next course of action, whether your team wishes to rest multiple days or only wish to rest one.
This is a first-come-first-serve basis
If a team that has DM'd me first and began to search before your team, they will have the advantage of being the first to spot your team ICly if they are fortunate enough to find you.
