Red Water (Training/Fenrir) Empty Red Water (Training/Fenrir)

Post by Gin Akiyama Sun Sep 24, 2017 8:50 pm

At the innermost portion of the second training grounds Gin found himself practicing, which was unusual to find himself making the most of his evening this way. The second training ground was large enough to use small Ninjutsu that did not threaten to flood or burn the village which was roughly a kilometer out from the center. As a Chuunin of his village Gin prefers to wear the standard load-out many Shinobi are seen wearing, which is provided by the village's armory. A pair of black combat sandals cover both feet leaving the toes and heel open securing up to his ankles. He wears a pair of common synthetic black pants personally having the bottoms wrapped in white bandage wrap to prevent it dragging or getting snagged. On right his thigh is a blue rectangular holster secured and backed by white tape. Gin wears a black single utility belt tightly secured to his waist. It holds one blue holster on his right side as well as a beige carry pouch around the back side of the belt. His torso is covered by a long sleeve black shirt, the upper sleeves donning the Konoha emblem stitched in red material. Over his shirt is a slate gray colored flak jacket which is zipped up and secure on his body, provided with six scroll holsters across the torso.

His forehead protector is secured across his forehead, the cloth colored blue and with the steel plating facing forwards showing the Konoha emblem in plain view. Gin is a tall, lean male standing at 6'2 and weighing 175 lbs. He has a broad, moderately toned figure with very minor visibility of veins on his forearms. He has a tan skin tone accompanied with rich hazel eyes and medium length brown hair stopping briefly past midway down his neck and shortly past his forehead. Because of this his forehead protector is partially covered by his hair though not greatly inhibiting identification. From the inside of his right sleeve was a Fuuinjutsu seal hidden the public eye, but it was from that a long chain ran down the length of his arm and out.

The chain was embedded with small shuriken to provide a spiky, slicing mechanic to the ordinary steel chain. At the end was a large two pound metal ball of the same substance. The chain was wrapped around a single with the ball hanging down several inches free from the coiling. "Just gotta pull it HARDER" He hollered while forcing his right arm back attempting to retrieve the meteor hammer. The tops and sides of his fingers were all pricked and sliced from digging in the chain trying to unravel the same mess he found himself in now. Though as much as he tried, the chain was stuck, and continued to dig its spines into the tree more with every tug. "Sigh..." With a regretful defeat, Gin approach the tree again and began untangling the razor chain from the tree's trunk.

Red Water (Training/Fenrir) Empty Re: Red Water (Training/Fenrir)

Post by Fenrir Sun Sep 24, 2017 10:44 pm

Fenrir found himself wandering around his old haunts, namely the training ground in which he and his previous team-mates spent so much of their youth sparring and working on their skills.  He hadn't been here in quite some time, and for some strange reason, he felt the need to be here today.  He hadn't come fully equipped, sporting his usual black outfit, along with his cloak.  Under this, he wore his Assassin's Blades, along with his senbon launchers.  He had four waist mounted weapon's pouches, two in the front, 2 in the back.  Apart from this he had nothing, as he did not expect to need anything for the day.  That was, until he spotted a rather annoying sight.

There was a person.  It appeared to be a stranger, though Fenrir could recalling seeing them before.  He remembered that they were in the Chuunin Exams soon after Fenrir had ranked up to Genin.  Right now, he seemed to be wearing the headband of a Chuunin, which meant he had survived his ordeal and was now for some reason here.  Fenrir knew the reason was most likely that he was training, but he was still annoyed by the fact that he was here.  From his perch in a tree a good distance away, Fenrir could see that he seemed to be training in the use of a very strange weapon. It was the first time he had visited his old training grounds in a while, and he had hoped it wouldn't be ruined by humans.  This one seemed to have already fucked up his day though, as he was currently attempting to dig his strange weapon out of, or more, out from around a tree.

Sighing, Fenrir decided the only way to be rid of this pest was to interact with it.  It was because of this that the teenage genin began to approach the man.  Upon getting closer, he took note of the fact that he was older than him, not by too much though, maybe a decade.  That made sense thinking about how long ago Fenrir saw him in the Chuunin Exams.  You there, what the hell are you doing?  The question wasn't rhetorical in any way, as it usually would be.  Fenrir legitimately wanted to know what the strange weapon the chuunin was holding was.  After all, he had his own new weapon that needed tested, and he thought this might be a good way to do just that.  He would also make sure to keep his hood up, as well as his mask, leaving only his blue eyes and his headband visible.  This was partially to hide his face, and partially to hide his age, as he had found many members of the lower ranks despised those who were both younger and higher ranking.

Gin worked his fingers around the spikes of the chain the best he could inevitably slicing through old wounds and creating news one. It was nothing agonizing only to be compared to an annoying prick of the a needle or paper cut. As Gin worked the chains loose he finally found an opening which he worked his hammer head through and begun unwinding the mess. Gin was unaware he was being watched after his focus was driven into untangling his mistake while trying to avoid being cut. But the sound of casual footsteps crushing the grass made the stranger's approach more noticeable. Gin was not jump in these situations expecting some sort of ally to approach him in his own village. Turning his head he saw a tall man, roughly the same height as Gin himself, approach him in a shrouded appearance. He hoped to remain incognito which was enough to give him a little more attention. The chain loose after a few revolution let it all drop to the earth in a heavy metallic drop. From there the chain automatically began retreating back into his blackened sleeve. As it came to an end, the rest of the object vanished in a small puff of smoke, being too large to casually slide through his clothing.

"Me? Well, I'm just utilizing one of the many training fields offered by our resident village. Do you wish to join? Or are you just here to watch? I don't mind a little company." Gin spoke politely and with a greeting tone as he does with all residents of the village he is stranger'd to. Well, to who he believes he is a stranger to. The man before him has his identify concealed for whatever purpose. Although his voice did not sound familiar, Gin found it odd he was targeted in this particular training ground. Skeptical of his presence he offered an open hand rugged in appearance and covered in cuts and scabs. It was the only hand that didn't have fresh blood on it. "I'm known as Gin Akiyama, pleasure to make your acquaintance." Gin stood upright giving himself a formal posture to presence of the cloaked man before him.

Fenrir would continue watching as the Chuunin retrieved his chain, seeing it disappear into his clothing.  It seemed simple enough, a chain with a ball on the end, but as Fenrir thought of the possibilities of such a weapon, he couldn't help but find himself wishing he had one of his own.  After it disappeared, his attention went back to the Chuunin.  He didn't much like the look of him, nor the tone of his voice, nor the way he breathed or talked or looked at him or generally existed, but he didn't seem to hate him yet, so that was a good enough start.  Currently, he was talking, saying something about why he was here and offering for Fenrir to join him.  After some mental debating with himself, Fenrir decided the best answer was a strange noise, simply an exhale with a tad of his voice added to it.  The meaning could easily be deciphered as yes, but if one was an expert in exhaling sounds, they might be able to gather a bit more.  Unfortunately, the great University of Breath Noises has yet to be founded, and no such expert exists yet.

When offered the Chuunin's hand, Fenrir would take it, shaking it without seeming to notice all the cuts and scabs that covered it.  He would do his best to memorize the other's name as well, Gin Akiyama, Gin Akiyama, Gin Akiyama.  Yes, he would be able to remember that, especially since it's the only new person he's spoken to in a while, meaning there really isn't much competition in Fenrir's memory.  Realizing that it was his turn to speak, Fenrir would reply to Gin's statement.  My name is Fenrir, Jounin of Konohagakure, and I would like to train with you.  I haven't really done much with people in a while, and it'll be nice to try it out again.  Fenrir hadn't trained here for a while, and he missed the days when he could train with his old friend.  Remembering these times, he removed his cloak and mask, leaving his face exposed to the other ninja.  He was ready for some hardcore training if the other was.

Gin could easily decipher Fenrir's body language. He was a man full of bitterness and a cold demeanor, though past that Gin could see he desired a place in someone's life. As he took his hand Gin smiled warmly with the greeting. Fenrir was interested in training, which took little to no effort on Gin's end except a measly invite to break the ice. Gin said nothing but remained his grin as he began stepping backwards to clear the space between him and Fenrir. As the man threw off his cloak and mask his appearance was revealed, Gin feeling less skeptical about his presence. He actually looked quite ordinary with a carved, handsome face. Assuming he was an ANBU Gin thought he would be heavily scarred or disfigured. Stopping five meters away, which was the most idea situation seeing as he could easily go to close range combat or long range with a few planned steps. Gin allowed a few seconds to let Fenrir fix himself up after reaching his destination.  "Glad to have you. Now let us begin." Saying his final word he arced his back and crouched using the energy in his legs to spring him back.

In the midst of his jump his hands worked together to create a small series of hand seals reading: Tiger | Ox | Tiger | Rat. His feet touched base ten meters back clearing an overall fifteen meter cap between the two before Gin inhaled air, the chakra within him formulating a surprise. Putting his two fingers against the side of his mouth Gin exhaled a large torrent of pressurized water as it raced towards Fenrir from across the field. The sheer volume of water was enough to throw a man off balance. Increasing its potential by enhancing its speed and integrity with chakra made the technique almost lethal. If impacted, Fenrir would suffer the full brunt of the attack being throw back against one of the trees that surrounded the clearing within the forest. The pressure from the water itself easily capable of causing lacerations and possible crack a few ribs, if not break them. Though Gin easily expected Fenrir to avoid this, if he was any man worth his title, it was a decent display of power and show starter for the endless possibilities a pool of leftover water could benefit him from.

Fenrir's instinct told him to use one of his stronger techniques, to end this before it began, but then he remembered that he was training, not fighting. This made him decide it would be best not to use any of his stronger techniques, and to stick with the more basic ones. So, when the water began coming at him, he simply jumped to the side, getting geared up for some taijutsu. From this position, still roughly 15 meters away, simply off to the side now, he would throw a kunai straight up, pointing his right hand straight at it. This was followed by him lauching at his opponent, right foot pointed at his torso. The goal was to distract him with the kunai, hopefully drawing his attention away from the high speed attack. All of these actions would be performed at max speed, making most seem a blur to the genin, with the kick being even faster. This would make it very difficult for the genin to dodge, but he wouldn't be hurt to bad if he blocked, and even if he didn't, it wouldn't be enough to injure him badly, as the Chuunin seemed to be tough enough. If the attack did go through, then Fenrir would kick off of his opponent with his left foot, pushing himself back about 10 meters.

If his original attack was dodged, Fenrir would simply continue through with it to end himself five meters behind his opponent, then he would jump back another 5 meters. This would end with him 10 meters past his target.

Red Water (Training/Fenrir) Empty Re: Red Water (Training/Fenrir)

Post by Gin Akiyama Wed Sep 27, 2017 2:10 am

As Gin released the great torrent of water his eyes watched over the stream and remained locked to Fenrir who easily evaded the basic Ninjutsu. It was expected for him to do that. There were only so many ways to start a combat. With someone he has never encountered Gin felt it was righteous to test the waters. Not profound with Taijutsu he found himself utilizing basic C-rank Ninjutsu. It was cheap, yet efficient. To Gin's surprise he Fenrir almost appear next to the water torrent almost as if he has always been standing there, not needing to move away. Although it seemed that way it was not completely believable. Boy...what did I get myself into... Gin thought to himself relieving the technique's flow of chakra and lowering his right hand. The technique bombarded the tree behind Fenrir's previous location nearly washing all the bark off leaving the face bare and splintered. His eyes were just trained enough to track Fenrir's movements to where he appeared as an unidentified streak of shadows. That was, if Gin kept his eyes on him. In any case he lost his location he would be open up to a flank. Keeping his eyes fixed on Fenrir as he stood to the side he saw the man reach for a kunai and fling it upwards in one arm motion.

His knife left his peripheral, though Gin was not interested with the kunai. The display of maximum speed from the Jounin and his anonymous skill set was much more threatening than a free falling knife. As silly as his priorities may sound he has dealt with impact weapons before. A falling knife would at most cause a minor laceration or break his skin, which he was more than wiling to accept. As his kunai left his hand Gin reached down to his own side holster. Popping the clasp open with his thumb he deftly pinched three shuriken between his thumb and two fingers stacked neatly together. As he retrieved them from the holster the clasp fell and shut back together securing the rest of his tools. Just as he had time to draw his tool Fenrir was on the move dashing towards him with formidable speed. Gin was unsure to make out his exact motive, but judging the dedication in his movement speed it was almost instinct to get out of the way.

Off his feet Gin sprung off the ground nearly eight feet in the air. He was acrobat when doing so performing an incomplete forward flip which left Gin with his head passing a few feet above Fenrir's. Gin felt is was necessary to take every precaution he had until he was confident in what Fenrir was capable of. When moving around Fenrir he was to make sure to take away every opportunity possible of a counter attack, even if it mean taking his legs out of the picture so Fenrir could not snag them mid-air. Using his core and legs he twisted himself around mid-air so that he was facing in the same direction as the Jounin, just in his blind spot. It was a simple maneuver to pull off with basic coordination and some practice. With his target open he swung his right arm in a horizontal fashion releasing all three shuriken in a small cluster destined to pepper the Jounin's unsuspecting backside. As the blades left his hand Gin's own feet touched based in which he immediately used the distraction provided by the shuriken to repetitively kick back resuming a fifteen meter gap between the two.

The shuriken would at least force Fenrir to step to the side, delaying his opportunity to close the gap between him and Gin. That was at least the strategy he had planned in mind. As Gin reached the end of his track, feet splashing in the shallow wetland produced by the failed technique. He quickly pull his right sleeve back with his left hand exposing a written Fuuinjutsu seal. Stroking the seal with his two fingers using his already present hand a small cloud of smoke form as the infamous meteor hammer spawned, the length of the chain still connected to the seal as the ball along with spare length fell to the ground. With his heart rate already accelerated he kept a steady eye on Fenrir, always, to ensure he never left his sights.

Upon landing, Fenrir quickly went over his situation. His eyes couldn't see anything right now, so they were useless. The smell of fresh mud blocked out anything his nose might be able to notice, and he certainly couldn't notice anything with his senses of taste or feel. So, closing his eyes, he focused on his hearing. He heard the impact of the Chuunin's feet, more than ten meters away, but he also heard something more important. He heard projectiles, three of them, not far from him and coming from behind. And so, with his eyes closed, he would do a quick backflip, opening his eyes midair to grab two of them. Landing, he would turn to face his opponent and begin walking towards him. It wouldn't be an overly threatening walk, although the two kunai may impede his attempts at a nonthreatening approach. About half of the distance away, with 7 or 8 meters in between them, he would begin speaking.

So, you've managed to prove that you're at the very least average for a Chuunin, possibly above average. For that reason, I have decided to take you on a mission. It will of course be dangerous, so you should be prepared. I'll be expecting you here tomorrow, whether you are here or not in that time will be up to you, but I do hope you'll choose to join me. In the meantime, I'll be speaking to the Hokage about what mission might be suitable for the two of us to go on together. In the meantime, I suggest you prepare yourself, seeing as this could be a higher ranked mission than you've done before, and I would so hate to be responsible for your death." At this point he would be less than a meter away from his sparring partner, and would hand him his kunai before turning to walk away. After all, he had a job to find. He would leave the training grounds and begin heading in the direction of the Hokage building. It had been a long time since he had spoken to his leader, and he wasn't exactly pleased to be speaking to the man, based on what their last conversation was about.

Fenrir's approached rather mildly, which caused Gin to partially lower his guard. He began to speak, a somewhat resolution to their small display of skill. Within his statement he included a mission that Gin would be taken on under his supervision. "Well, I'll be honored to be of aide, Fen-san. I will certainly be prepared for tomorrow's task." Within a step away the Jounin handed Gin his projectiles which he graciously took and stored back in his weapon holster. Despite his distant behavior Gin found the man rather likable finding his skills valuable. As for the mission he needed rest. A day of tasks and afternoon of training wore Gin down to his bones. With silence Fenrir left the training field, which Gin did the same as well to return back to his home preparing his evening routine and getting ready for the next day.
