    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

A young gal of typical Uzumaki descent, Kiyoko stands at average height for one entering puberty. Standing roughly at about five foot seven and a half without heels, she could have comfortably blended into crowds of people if it weren’t for her bright red Uzumaki genetics advertising that she was there however. She wears her hair in a single ponytail that reaches around mid back. She keeps the few bangs not caught up in the tail, framed firmly out of her face to maintain her ability to see clearly. She typically wears clothing befitting someone who trains with swords, and will often wear military style dresses, blouses and skirts. When in a casual setting however she will default to the clothing she wears at the forge under a pair of overalls.

History: Raised alongside her twin, Kiyoko had lived a simple life like any other Uzumaki. She wasn’t ostracized or made into a super weapon, nor did she have some special skills that would isolate her and make her different. She instead enjoyed a fruitful childhood that she was able to enjoy with her sister.

Their parents gave them the tools necessary to succeed in life, and Kiyoko took to these like any other youngster would. She would find solace and comfort in her father’s forge, and would help the older man as best as her younger self could until he deemed she was old enough to man the anvil herself. At first he let her muck about and make sillier items like nails and horseshoes, but as she got better he would allow her to make riskier items like kunai and shuriken. It wasn’t too long that he would allow her to make her very first blade. It was terribly made, poorly crafted from an iron/bronze alloy and was extremely brittle due to poor casting and heat processes. But the experience hooked her in, and ever since that first fateful fuck up, she had locked herself into the forge until she felt she was at least competent enough to make a basic sword that her father could appreciate.

While she worked in the forge, she was also submitted into the academy alongside her sister. Working alongside her twin, she would find the academy fairly easy, out pacing the other children on her way out of the academy program. It would not take long for her to graduate, easily passing the exams only a year later. She would quickly be placed on a genin team alongside two slightly older genin and was given one of the Seven Swordsman as a teacher.

Genin life was difficult for the young Uzumaki. Being truly separated from her sister for the first time in their young lives, she struggled to grasp the various teachings that the elder shinobi had attempted to impart into her. Along with this, she didn't get along very well with her squad, always considered the weakest link due to only knowing how to craft seals of varying effectiveness. As such she was generally resigned to rear guard duty, protecting the client and ensuring that they were properly taken care of.

This over time diminished her feeling of self worth, forcing her to undergo a mindset change. Striking a deal with her sensei, Kiyoko trained heavily everyday, studying dutifully in the art of swordsmanship to learn how to properly wield and take care of a blade. Blacksmithing had sort of prepared her for this change in focus, the coordination and strength gathered from hammering various metallic ores had served her well as she learned the basic stances and slashes for the sword style that was being imparted into her. In a sense, this period of time could be considered her reforging, her sensei taking the dull blade that she had been before and smelting it down to create a new far more devastating weapon to be used against the villages enemies once he was done tempering the steel.

By the time she had attended her first chuunin exams only a year later, she had grown into a far more confident and competent young woman. No longer the rear guard, she had slowly over time grown into a leader in her own right. Between the instructions from her sensei, the fuinjutsu studies with her mother and grandmother, and blacksmithing training with her father, Kiyoko had achieved a new height for herself that she hadn’t thought possible. And all along there was her sister to cheer her on as she fought for the right to become a chuunin along with the rest of them.

The trials she faced were hard, of course they would be. Becoming a chuunin wasn’t supposed to be an easy feat, but eventually she would meet her match in the third round of the final part of the exams. The young chuunin hopeful from Iwa was her counter in every way, and having fallen short, she would choose to retreat in hopes of regrouping and preparing for another counter attack. In doing so she had laid a trap for the young and now far more cocky genin to fall into that would eventually gain her the upper hand and the win, but at the cost of her own chances at continuing through the exams. Choosing to forfeit in the next round, if only out of hopes of not ruining her chances even further, she was awarded the rank of chuunin for her quick thinking and realization of when to retreat after a major well earned victory. The rest of her teammates had also achieved the rank of chuunin, keeping the squad together as they moved further along in their careers.

As a chuunin, Kiyoko worked hard to perfect the skills she had gained, picking up a knack for strategy after her fight in the chuunin exams, she would begin studying under the Jounin commander in hopes of learning more and eventually, she hoped, replacing the man as he had begun to grow older. Her talents and demeanor made her one of the few candidates from her class to be selected for ANBU, something she took with great pride. She was quickly initiated and brought in with a group of hopefuls, beginning a new stage in her life in secrecy. This would mark the beginning of the second period in her life where she spent extensive time away from her twin. She knew that her sister would be graduating in two years and hoped to have earned a rather storied career by the time she graduated.

And so she fought, securing objectives for Kiri alongside her team of ANBU. It often wasn’t well known that she had taken part in these clandestine operations, that being the whole part of ANBU ops. But over time she had slowly began to leave her own mark on each operation she attended. Being a confirmed pyromaniac she had began to include pyrotechnics into her demolitions work and worked hard to emulate a sort of flame that apparently only the Uchiha’s could use. Of course she didn’t know how to turn her flames black, she did know from working in the forge that the brighter a flame was, the hotter it was, and thus worked hard to reach a level of heat that only she could be attributed to. In doing so, however, she had also accidentally created a seal that allowed her flames to burn for as long as the seal remained, thus earning her the moniker among her ANBU peers and her targets alike of ‘The Thousand Year Flame’.

Eventually this call sign would be too readily identifiable causing the Mizukage to call her back to Kiri. Being well known in ANBU wasn’t something that was unheard of, but it did make it harder to say that your village had no involvement in a situation when one of your shinobi had a tendency of burning everything to a crisp. As such she was removed from ANBU duty and formally promoted to Jounin after a year and a half in the ANBU operations. Such a feat wasn’t unheard of and was something of a celebration when her Sensei and teammates found out. Returning home also had the added benefit of reuniting her with her sister for the first time in over a year and after seeing how much the young girl had grown, had only pushed her further that she would shoot to become a Jounin sensei by the time her sister’s class graduated in a few months.

She would be placed into the teaching program, ensuring that she was of proper mental facility and knowledge to even attempt such a feat, and after months of studying to brush up on what she had felt was rather worthless knowledge, she was given the go ahead to select a team from an upcoming back of genin hopefuls. Choosing a squad that featured her sister was relatively hard, but she knew that if they were all to succeed she would have to give each of them the same level of attention her teacher had placed in her, after all without that final push, who knew where she would be now.

Personality: Kiyoko is an action driven character, working hard to provide for her family as best as she can. Learning early on that setting and achieving goals was the way to go through life, she worked hard for everything she had. As such she expects a similar mindset of those she works with and works for. She is duty bound to a fault, having seen the best and worst that her village had to offer, she often clashed with her commanding officers when some missions crossed a moral line that she had refused to cross herself, and as such she can sometimes be seen as confrontational when dealing with upper command. She is ambitious, but to a point. She has no desire to be the leader of the village, something that many genin hopefuls see as the pinnacle of being a ninja, but she does foresee herself being in some leadership position near the Kage. Everything she does is in service to that goal, from entering the ANBU ops, to becoming a Jounin sensei. There are no wasted efforts, or impractical goals.

When dealing with family or her team, she only has their best interests at heart. She can be seen as nurturing in a way, having a level of patience only achieved through the year of service in ANBU ops. She had learned early on that having a short fuse would get you killed and as such made it an effort on her part to control her emotions, especially when dealing with her flames or her family. This is not to say that she does not lose her cool, in fact it is because she can lose her composure so violently that she chooses to put up a facade of calm and happiness.

Her sister is one of the few things that can keep her calm, and it is often not understood the relationship between the two. The two share a bond that goes beyond just being twins, and often borders on incestual in the way they interact with each other, but it is obvious that Kiyoko wants nothing but the best for her younger twin and will actively go out of her way if she feels that Kiyomi is in any danger at all, whether the danger is real or imagined.

In combat she is composed, focused on her target and the danger that said target might bring to those around her. She tries her best to not also be a danger to those she is working with and as such often chooses to fight alone, something she often did when she was in ANBU ops. However now as a teacher she has begun to learn how to tone down her destructive fighting style as to not place her students in harm’s way, but will cut loose if necessary if the threat posed by the enemy outweighs the potential damage she would do to her team.

She will often place or use traps as a way to deter or slow down an opponent while taking shots at them with her blade or katon jutsu, however this is not how she will fight when enraged or when she’s actually attempting to kill someone. Overwhelming force is her weapon of choice when she’s completely dedicated to a battle, and will often times use her biggest, strongest technique or flame to completely eradicate a target from the face of the planet.

Roleplay Sample: His body ached from the battle, well not so much as ached but throbbed. He couldn’t actually pinpoint what crossed his mind as he replayed the battle out in his head, silently berating himself for being so single focused onto his opponent that he ignored all the signs that the stage around them was falling apart. He lamented his decision to ignore such an environmental hazard at the cost of winning the fight and knew without a doubt that if his opponent had not pretty much thrown him a bone, he would have definitely lost the match from his sustained injuries. Playing it back second by second, he could see where he could have faked his opponent out further, possibly enough playing to seem as if he himself were a long range combatant to give his opponent a false sense of security. He didn’t necessarily have to rush down every opponent he saw, and it wasn’t as if he did this back in Iwa. So why did he do it here? Why did he do it in this particular fight?

The question rung through his head as he finally entered the massive hallway leading to the medical bay, the crowds thunderous applause blocking out some of his deeper and more dangerous self loathing thoughts. The scowl on his face couldn’t possibly grow any deeper as he practically stormed his way into the room offered to him and sat down to receive treatment. He’d answer blankly to each of the medical inquiries given to him, not even paying the medical staff any mind as he was healed of his more serious injuries. It wouldn’t take long, maybe five minutes for there to be no sign of his battle aside from the dust covering his body and the torn clothing he wore. He would grimace at the sight of his dress, absolutely hoping that Umeko hadn’t been watching the fight and saw what he had done to it. He knew the girl loved seeing him all dolled up for his fights and absolutely dreaded when he looked like he was disheveled.

Sighing in acceptance of his fate, his shoulders would slump as all of the tension of the morning would finally drain out from him. There was no getting out of Umeko’s ranting and raving, and if he was honest with himself, he truly didn’t mind. It was just going to be tiring to maintain that same level of energy she had whenever she’s in one of her ‘moods’. And so he powered down, his body easing itself into full relaxation as he let himself finally smile and enjoy the fact that he had passed his first hurdle. Of course he could have done better, but that would come with time and more knowledge of not only his opponent, but his environment. He wished he could scope out the arena’s beforehand but knew that if he was caught then he would instantly be disqualified. And him getting caught was almost a guarantee, his stealth was atrocious.

Moisture seemed to finally make itself known to him as he finally began to relax. Coalescing itself into a puddle before rising up into the form of an amalgamous slime that stood a few inches taller than him. The sudden realization that he had been tailed the whole time startled Taiho. A reminder that just a month ago he had been attacked suddenly while within the walls of Iwa. He would jump back, his legs collecting beneath him before extending fully as he cleared the full width of the bed to stomp down onto the tile. He would already be in the process of forming his stance as the figure fully formed instantly into the form of a pink haired individual of a similar sexual identification to Taiho. Taiho’s body actively fought against this sudden jump start back into activity but he fought back the aches, pains and pangs of his joints not agreeing with his method of gaining distance. He was unfamiliar with such a presence and the fact that it had gotten so close to him as to possibly kill him did not go unnoticed, but the fact that it then addressed him cordially at least allayed some of his concerns about it being a potential assassin. He would not step out of his stance just yet, but he would at least respond to inquiry in a paranoid manner.

Who’s asking and why?” He had had enough with being attacked randomly for living past what others assumed to be his proper expiration date. So even if he was injured, even if he was possibly outmatched, he wouldn’t go down without a fight. No he would do his best to defend himself until he could at least reach the door to alert the guard of his plight. Of course the person could have also just shown up to talk to him like any other rabid fan, but such a thought didn’t cross paranoid brain. He only saw others as threats until proven otherwise. And right now he wasn’t proven otherwise.
