Setting the Stage (Flashback) Empty Setting the Stage (Flashback)

Post by Shimiko Chinoike Mon Nov 11, 2019 7:25 pm

Lady Superior Mora was quietly working in her office above the Church's sanctum. The office was a bit cramped and nothing really all that special. There was a couch in the corner which she often slept on after staying up at night reading and studying scripture. The walls were lined with bookshelves containing various books on Jashinism, the Orthodoxy, an the Church's history. Two books in particular would have a place of honor above them all. The tomes were stored in glass cases with the print of the Church emblazoned on the center. The The Seikyōkai and Doctrines & Covenants. The two most important works within the religion's canon.

Mora had read, studied, and taught the books hundreds of times over. She knew every verse by heart and could quote the scripture from memory, just as her predecessors could. It was her solemn duty to keep the word of Jashin in her mind and in her heart at all times. One of the most defining parts of her tenure as leader would concern the eschatological passages of the Seikyōkai. Jashin made flesh was due to return within most people's lifetime. 1,000 A.S....The End Of All Time and the Beginning of Anew.

Jashin had made his people a promise and so long as they kept up their end of the bargain he'd reward them. It was Mora's job to make sure that the faithful held up their end of the deal. And now after decades of meticulous planning and preparation, it was time to set the stage for a new chapter in the Church's history. To that end, the high priestess summoned Irui and the Twins to her chambers.

The twins were surprised to be summoned by Mora, she was the religious leader and had never really called on the pair. They only hoped they had not caused the church any distress, they felt that was not likely the case as they would arrive where they were told to appear the church. They were their battle maiden outfits as they were unsure what the reasoning was but they felt it may be important and being prepared was always wise. They would step inside and move toward Mora bowing their heads.

"We came as fast as we could Lady Mora, what did you need us to do."

The simple but showing line meant the world, they would do whatever was needed to help the church. They had already spread the faith through many of their efforts and had helped it swell because they were seen as such a pure set of girls with the heart of gold. Underneath all of this were true monsters however, they would kill those they deemed needed to do without hesitation and in the most gruesome and violent manners.

The twins arrived suited up and ready for action. Mora smiled gently as they bowed to her and asked how they may be of service. "Jashin bless you Yui and Yua.....I have a special task for the two of you. A task of extreme importance, one that no one can know about. This is just between you and me. I'll inform Shimiko soon but it is important for the purposes of this conversation that you pretend as though it never happened. As what I am about to ask you contravenes the laws of this city..."

Lady Mora steepled her hands and continued.

"I fear the Daimyou's tolerance for our holy faith is thinning with each passing day. I fear he may try to make a play against us. His mind his being poisoned by anti-Jashinists and intolerant Buddhists. It is only a matter of time before he acts against the Church either by turning Lady Nariko against us or by going behind Nariko's back. Either way, we must strike first before he strikes against us. My closest Sacristans and I have developed a plan to ensure that the Daimyou cooperates with the pro-Jashinist policies of the Raikage. However, before I tell you it Yui and Yua I need to know that no matter what you will stand with the Church even if it means acting against Kumogakure.....its not just what we want, its what Shimiko would want. Its what Jashin would want."

Yui and Yui listed to lady Mora as she blessed the pair making them both smile before getting to the point. She was going to have a conversation that violated Kumos laws, to be fair the twins never really cared about Kumo only for Jashin and Shimiko. If this was something Shimiko also wanted it was something they wanted, and violating the laws of the city as something they did often with their sacrifices.

When she told the twins the daimyos plan to possibly remove the religion they clearly were angry they had done so much to protect Kumo and yet this rich pice of crap planned to turn on them. They would not allow this to happen as Yui's eyes would glow red showing the inner rage she felt when this was mentioned to her. Se than asked if the twins would help the church no matter what, and to this, of course, the only person they wouldn't betray was Shimiko and her clan.

"We cannot let him push us out of the village and country so of course we agree to do whatever is needed, though we won't turn on Shimiko no matter what she is our family and Jashin while higher in our eyes shes to important to us. We will do what is needed to ensure we remain allowed, maybe it is time the village officially be run by Jashin, Nariko while Shimikos friend may betray us unless she converts."

Hearing the twins say this plan with little to no pause proved one thing they were not to be taken lightly. They had their own goals but these often were never seen, this goal was to make sure Jashin somehow came back to the world, be it himself or through a loyal follower's body.

Mora smiled when she saw the glowing red in Yui's eyes. She had learned from Shimiko that the twins had been selected to become the Jinchurikki for the One Tailed Beast. Having such a powerful weapon in the hands of the Church was an absolute game-changer. The Twins expressed their devotion to the Church and their desire to prevent the Daimyou from pushing the religion out of the country. They also mentioned how important Shimiko was to them. Mora had no illusions that if it came down to it, they'd probably choose Shimiko over her but that was fine. Shimiko was the Orthodoxy's defender and would undoubtedly be forced to go along with the plan that Mora was cultivating. The twins also spoke poorly of Nariko noting that unless she converted she posed a threat to the Church's growing power. Mora concurred obviously but she wasn't willing to speak ill of Nariko just yet. The Third Raikage might prove useful to their plans. Mora leaned back in her chair and nodded at their words.

"Shimiko has taught you well. Kumogakure is important but ultimately our loyalty lies to God and not this city. With that in mind, I have a mission for you. We need leverage over the Daimyou so as to ensure that he thinks twice before moving against us. That leverage will come in the form of his nephew: Naito Yoshida. We have intelligence indicating that because Naito is a direct relative of the Damiyou, he will prioritize the life of his kin over his own agenda. The Royal Family would never let one of their own die so taking him as a hostage is a high level priority. Shimiko has deputized me to create missions on her behalf. We must disguise our motives and operations by acting under the guise of ANBU."

Mora would slide a piece of paper to the Twins. The paper would contain Naito's picture and current address.

"I will send two squads of shinobi to assist you in kidnapping Naito. You will all disguise yourselves as ANBU and show up to his residence. You will tell Naito that there is a credible threat on his life and that he must immediately come with you. Bag him so he can't see where you are taking him. Anyone who interferes with your mission is obstructing the lawful activities of Kumo ANBU. Defeat them swiftly and thoroughly but only kill them as a tool of last resort. If Naito doesn't cooperate knock him out and take him. Bring him back to the Church and we will imprison him here. Once the Daimyou realizes his closest of kin has been taken hostage, he will be forced to bend to the Church's will."

The twins listened to lady Mora, she had a really well thought out plan but there was one more plan that could be easier to pull off and for sure could get the daimyo and family on their side. This was a simple task if the twins were to marry his nephew or become their mistress. Yui was no child anymore she was a kunoichi, she had to be able to use her allure and body to get some things it was expected of them.

"We have another idea for you to consider, we do not know if this nephew is married or not but if he is not we purpose an arranged marriage with us, this would make it where the Daimyo would not despise us but instead help us because the church is family. If not him the Daimyo himself could work with marriage or being his mistress. We feel this leaves fewer enemies and makes the church hold high power in the nation, being the bride or mistress to the top power makes us able to implement Jashin to its fullest. "

They would accept her mission if she still wanted to go through with it but they felt this plan would end up better overall. If Yui ever had a child that was the damiyo's Jashin would be forever in power in this land. Even if the kage didn't like it the order of the damiyo is absolute.

Mora listened to the twins idea. Yui offered herself up to be the Naito's bride or mistress, she then went a step further and said that if that didn't work then she'd be willing to offer herself up to the Daimyou himself. The Lady Superior was a bit surprised at how willing Yui was to basically whore herself out. It was her understanding that they were forced into such arrangements by their evil stepfather and for them to volunteer to do it again was quite disturbing. It became clear to her that the Church had their undying loyalty much like they had Shimiko's. Kidnapping the relative of a head of state was risky and they had to have realized that. Rather than risk violence or increasing tensions they were willing to give up their own happiness if it meant keeping the peace. It was a noble thought but ultimately it wasn't in the cards. For one, Shimiko would never allow it and though Shimiko was loyal to the Church, Mora knew better than to push her luck when it came to the twins' well-being. Secondly, she was pretty sure Naito would not opt to marry someone he barely knew. She didn't know his moral proclivities when it came to casual sex but there was no reason to think that the Daimyou would derail his agenda on account of his nephew's fuckbuddy. It was possible the Damiyou might be interested in a young jinchurikki bride but given the twins' close relationship with the Church, his advisers would dissuade him from taking Yui as a wife. After all, there was an entire nation's worth of young virgins who were not affiliated with a death cult. Mora shook her head. Yui's willingness to sacrifice her body and long-term martial status was laudatory but unnecessary.

"Jashin bless your hearts. I appreciate the thought darlings, but this problem cannot be married away. I'm afraid your plan will not work for a multitude of reasons but most importantly it needs to be made clear that the Church is not to be trifled with. We need a show of strength not love. I need someone to kidnap Naito and the only question is....will you obey the word of the Lady Superior and get the job done?"

Mora's tone was very serious now. She didn't want the twins faltering or expressing fear. They were Shimiko's kin now and if they were to be affiliated with a woman so powerful they couldn't balk from a challenge.

They were disappointed their plan could not take place but would follow orders loyally, kidnap the nephew it was. Sill while he was kidnapped they fully planned to indoctrinate him into Jashinism, they would keep this detail to themselves as they had their own ideas on how to guide the church. Mora would not live forever and they had grand plans to lead the church someday, better to plant seeds in a higher power now so they can bloom into full flowers later.

"We will follow the order without issue Lady Mora, we do as the church needs, we have np plans to disobey and cause an issue for the church. For Lord Jashin will return someday and we will be his loyal army guiding the world into a new beginning."

They would smile at lady Mora showing a kind smile ut behind that smile it was clear a monster lurked, they almost hope someone would try to stop them so they could fill the city streets with blood and sacrifices for Jashin. They would do anything to bring him back to this world and someday they would discover the key to setting him free.

Mora smiled as the twins acquiesced to her plan. They were a tad bit disappointed but that was fine so long as they did as they were told. The old crone clapped her hands and spoke to them both: "Glory and grace to you both. A loyal servant will have a place at the vanguard during the Eternal Crusade."

Mora pushed the paper containing his address and picture to them. She'd also give them each an ANBU mask to disguise their identities. Two Tanuki masks, one black and the other red.

"Here is all of the information that you will need as well as some masks to disguise yourselves as ANBU. I will send two squads to go with you. They are waiting downstairs."
