After some Discord insight (thx naisu) I understand that it would be beneficial to ABOLISH E-Class all together and make the new starting rank D-rank for newly regged Genin.
Why: It had been made abundantly clear that E-Class Genin is just a grind rank. Nobody wants to start as a Genin because it's unnecessarily slower to progress. E-Class Genin lack any uniqueness to their build and are frankly useless sacks of meat until they earn their first 500 EXP. And that's their main goal. You grind for your first 500 EXP until you can actually somewhat enjoy the game.
With this change the starting class for Genin will be D-Class. This means we subtract all of the class-up requirements by 500 experience to compensate the removal of the E-Class.
D-Class: 0 EXP
C-Class: 1,000 EXP
B-Class: 2,000 EXP
A-Class: 3,500 EXP
S-Class: 5,500 EXP
X-Class: 7,500 EXP
Because of this, this means the new starter experience (you know, that 1,050 bit) would be increased to 1,650 EXP. This is to represent the 500 EXP required to formally go from 0 to 500 to hit D-Class, and a partial representation of the bonus 200 EXP for achieving D-Class.
As a result, characters that currently exist will benefit from the new class values as they had to suffer the E-Class grind with their total not being impacted by this new change. All currently approved characters will also benefit from 500 spendable experience. This is to compensate characters who have dealt with the E-Class grind and lost from it due to its removal.
i.e. Tsubaki is a hard working Genin!!11!! After spending a couple weeks of running missions she finally hits 550 EXP and reaches D-Class for her hard work!! Then this rule gets passed. A day later, Chad shows up and registers a D-Class Genin. Chad gets a character from the get-go equal to Tsubaki's in strength with no work. Tsubaki feels very upset!
But with this change, starting Genin will be more appealing since they have a greater sum of experience to start with, more skills to work with, and a higher learning cap to instantly be useful upon registration, but not completely worthless.
