    Pet Shop Empty Pet Shop

Post by Rin Matoi Sat Mar 23, 2019 3:21 am

Overview: Early human civilization has learned to domesticate animals for their abilities that humans can not achieve, such as a dog's superior sense of smell or a bison's superior strength to lug around heavy cargo. Pets have made human life easier and still serve their purpose today by either serving as a loyal companion or simply a domesticated pet.

Just like modern machinery, livestock do need to be maintained. Food, hygiene, medicine, and all other necessities play a role in keeping your pet healthy and in top condition. Each pet will have their own stats, perks, and a maintenance value which is represented by a letter rank. The letter rank determines how much you must pay each month for maintaining the animal's health and wellness. Although cheap, it is important to take care of your pets as important as it is to feed and take care of yourself. Their maintenance rank also determines how long they can go without maintenance, which is explained later.

    Code:

[b]Species:[/b] (Horse, Dog, Dragon, Snake, etc.)
[b]Price:[/b] (How much you pay to purchase it.)
    [b]Rank:[/b] (E - S. Only when dealing with NPC.)
    [b]Perks:[/b] (Special Abilities.)
    [b]Maintenance Value:[/b] (E - S)

    [u][b]Stats[/b][/u]
    [b]Strength:[/b]
    [b]Constitution:[/b]
    [b]Stamina:[/b]
    [b]Speed:[/b]
    [b]Coordination:[/b]
    [b]Intelligence:[/b]
    [b]Perception:[/b]

[b]Loyalty:[/b] (How loyal the pet is to the owner. E - S)
[b]Nutrition Value:[/b] (D or C rank. This also affects the price.)
    [b]Yield:[/b] (Servings offered. Be realistic.)

Maintenance Value: As mentioned above, the Maintenance Value represents all the necessary commodities your pet requires to survive in good health. Something that requires very little hygiene care and will practically eat anything would require the lowest MV, while a pet that requires a specific food item which is incredibly hard to find will require a higher MV. In order to successfully pay the maintenance value of a pet you must be within a dwelling or base within the past week from when the purchase is due. Otherwise you can always buy your pet's necessities at the general store, though at a greater price for convenience and retail.

    MV Upkeep Values:
    E: 500 ryo
    D: 1,000 ryo
    C: 2,500 ryo
    B: 5,000 ryo
    A: 7,500 ryo
    S: 10,000 ryo

Loyalty: Your pet's loyalty represents how difficult it is for the pet to view you as its master from a previous master. How fast one bonds with an animal depends on the player's Intelligence stat, with smarter characters having more knowledge on the animals they seek to bond with making success easier to achieve. When taking control of pets through this method you can control them for two posts. This only works once per topic.

    • Having Intelligence higher than the pet's loyalty allows the player to take control of them in one post.

    • Having Intelligence equal to the pet's loyalty allows the player to take control of them in two posts.

    • Having Intelligence lower than the pet's loyalty does not allow the player to control them.

On the other hand, having the pet in your possession for one month (paying the Maintenance Value upkeep) puts them under your control as well. Purchasing a pet from the store or otherwise being the pet's first owner automatically puts them under your control.

Consumption: Whether you are tired of taking care of your animal, tired of its incompetency, or simply cannot afford to feed them for next month you can choose to get the most out of your investment by consuming your pet. After all, humans are omnivores and the animals we domesticate still possess a lot of good protein.

Although not all Shinobi and Civilians are chefs they are capable of seasoning meat to produce a decent meal. Pets may be consumed to yield the effects of a weaker provision. Each pet will have a nutritional value of either D-rank or C-rank. They will also have a yield value beneath that representing how many servings one pet would yield. As mentioned before food gathered this way is inferior to an actual chef with background in Chemistry. As such the duration of the buffs gained are weaker than the professionally prepared counterpart. All D-rank and C-rank products will have the same countdown and duration, which are shown below. These advantages do not need to be registered and can be claimed when consumed:

    Nutrition Value:
    D-rank | +1 advantage | Countdown: 3 | Duration: 6
    C-rank | +2 advantages | Countdown: 4 | Duration: 7

Registering a Pet: A special pet may be requested through the pet shop by posting the request at your local pet shop in your own topic. Keep in mind these are regular pet stores. Finding a Dragon or Whale would be unrealistic. Being Wealthy or Aristocratic will allow you to register more exotic pets.
