History: Kaji initially grew up wanting to be a ninja but both his parents made sure to beat that ambition out of him at a very young age, as his mother believed ninjas to be cruel and without remorse due to what she's seen of Kirigakure's own formidable ninja and his father wanted Kaji to continue the legacy of their weapons and armour store, which is known as the "Tetsu Armoury" which he named out of respect to their close relationship with the Tetsudashi clan members in Kirigakure.
Kaji didn't quite give up on being a ninja at this young age but as he grew older and maturity kicked in, he lost the passion in time and submitted to what his father had wanted, dedicating himself to learning the crafts and even helping around his father's store. During Kaji's younger years, his parents would frequently have arguments which boiled up to the point that his mother had left and never came back.
Around the age of twelve, his father had passed away and the store had to be shut down with no one paying for it to stay running. Luckily for Kaji, the close relationship Kaji's father built up with the Tetsudashi brought the lone child in to the clan and they raised him as one of their own, becoming an adopted member of the Tetsudashi clan in Kirigakure. He learned that his father provided special weaponry for the Tetsudashi and that's why they held a close relationship.
To repay their kindness, Kaji would continue to learn his crafts in the following years, working a few jobs here and there while studying his crafts on the side, as soon as he turned eighteen, he reopened the Tetsu Armoury store and as his father wanted, he became a smith and inherited the store.
Personality: Considered to be grumpy and outright rude to those that initially meet him, he's rather straightforward and doesn't beat around the bush. He is capable of being kindhearted and moralistic when he knows someone a bit better, he even values the relationships that he has with others and this is shown with any clan member of the Tetsudashi, who showed him compassion and love when he had no where else to go and will gladly help them when the need arises.
Aside from this, he shows a rather odd outlook to his smithing professions, especially towards weapon smithing as he grew a habit of being a perfectionist when it comes to crafting his armaments. He won't sell off a weapon to a customer if he's not pleased with the work he's done on it, even if the customer themselves are happy about the weapon crafted.
He shows an interest in almost any topic about ninjas, trying to stay aware of the worlds events, mainly as a way to sate the side to him that wanted to be a ninja at one point, even imagining sometimes what his life would be like if he went that route.
