[Mission] A Challenge

He was all over the news. The man that was supposedly the fastest man alive. That he was able to reach speeds unnatural to men. Seid was not biting just yet. Though he had gone town to town defeating them in a race.

He had yet to defeat a Kumo citizen. Besides how fast can this guy be compared to the ninja he has seen. Or attempted too. Master Khaix was in a league of his own moving akin to teleportation.

So news of the mans challenge would eventually be taken with some serious qualms. Some man boasting so openly of his speed, Seid wanted tot see what he was all about. The young Genin showed up to the residential area, there was a crowd near a park. There in the middle of the crowd was a man taking any and all bets. It seemed there were three or four people there dressed in running cloths. While the man wore basic clothing, he didn't look much different than an ordinary man.

Seid walked up to the group as the crowd was discussing the race they had just witnessed. "Hello sir. I heard you were challenging others to a race. I believe you've never raced against a ninja before."

The man who looked a little older than he was. He stepped forward and the crowd quieted as the realized who had arrived. "And who might you be." He asked interested.

Seid had abandoned any armor for regular clothes today. Wearing a pale blue ninja vest. His headband across his face. From the first impression, Seid seems like the real deal. He cleared his throat to answer. "I am Seid Otsusuki. I accept your challenge of fastest man alive. "

A few members of the group were audibly shocked. He looked very young still. He couldn't keep up with the man... could he?

The man was true to his word, began to shoo and clear away the crowd so they had some room to maneuver. They were already at one end of the block, so the man held his hands up angling their path. "Alright, we shall race to the end of the block and back. Then we shall see how fast you really are." The man said stretching his muscles getting ready for the race.

"Your going to be in for a surprise when you get smoked by a kid." Seid answered with a smirk playing on his face.

The two racers lined up with each other. The spectators all gathered away from the path so that they would be able to watch it. One of them walked out to set the match.

"1, 2, 3, go!" One of the spectators said.

Seid took off from the line, and the two began to run as fast as they could. There was no need to conserve strength as it was a short sprint back and forward. It was more like a 50 meter dash, and back which would make it a 100 meters total. This would be short and sweet for Seid to finish. It was clear after takeoff that the man was indeed fast, but Seid held just the edge on him surprisingly. The crowd cheered on their Kumo native Genin, against the foreigner of course.

Seid reached the end of the block first and was beginning to turn around when the man subtlety stuck his foot out as they passed. With Seid's ninja reflexes he dodged the it by picking his foot up and continuing on, anyone else would not have noticed the slight attempt but he did. Seid ran by and reached the end, winning the race. The citizens hailed him as the fastest runner while the man sulked away.
