    Spoiler:

It hadn't been long since Zurui and Akihiro last stopped by the Hiyoto Province in a mission of...less than reputable nature. They'd been tasked with the destruction of a series of caravans, one of which had a certain creature as cargo. Now, nobody is saying they were responsible, perhaps because nobody knew they were there, but somehow, someway, a giant fire breathing wyvern had somehow got loose and was terrorizing the entire province. Zurui took no credit for its release, of course, but he was more than a little disappointed that this task fell upon him. He'd dropped the thing into a crater for a reason and that was for it to not be his problem. The Jounin sat upon a rock, waiting for Akihiro to arrive so that they could start their next run.

Akihiro couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine when he discovered that the creature he had awakened to kill a bunch of merchants and destroy a caravan a few weeks ago was now going on a rampage. He had just assumed that the creature would not be able to leave the hole Zurui dug for it, and that it would eventually die there. Apparently, he was wrong. Not only did it awake and kill the merchants but it also somehow managed to break the steel chains that bound it in place and miraculously crawl out of that hole. Akihiro didn't fear a battle with the creature- between him and Zurui the two ninjas should have more than enough firepower to bring it down. His fear was that they would discover it was *him and Zurui* the ones who released the beast.

Luckily it seemed wyverns couldn't talk. And also that no one had survived the encounter with it on that hole. Alas, Akihiro was now approaching the location where he was supposed to rendezvous with Zurui. He had already gotten there, seemingly having managed to make his way through the trees of the Land of Fire for once.

"Heyo" Akihiro would say "Guess we should have taken care of that problem before huh?"

"Probably." Responded Zurui. The only reason they didn't do that was, okay well there were two reasons. First off, it would've been a royal pain in the ass. Call it karma that they ended up being assigned specifically to kill it now, but hey, at least it meant more money for what probably should've been done the first time around. Secondly, it was funny to have all those people get killed by their cargo. It may sound sick now, but it was hilarious back then.

"So, you up for being bait?" The best way to draw out a monster is of course by being bait. They knew that the thing enjoyed the taste of human, so it only seemed natural that Akihiro be the one to act as bait. Why not Zurui? Well, that much was obvious.

The Jounin watched the skies, looking for any signs of the creature. If it was like anything else of its type, a predatory flying animal, then it would probably nest somewhere and only come out for food or fun. If it wasn't in the skies, then it was probably out eating or in its nest, sleeping. How they would draw it out, Zurui did not know. That was Akihiro's problem, the brave little soul.

There was hardly any time for Akihiro to respond when a roar echoed throughout the forest. Zurui's eyes perked up, looking for any sign. He saw nothing, but he knew where it came from, and it sounded close.  The Jounin ran through the trees until he came upon a clearing, where in the middle near the center lay the wyvern. Zurui stopped, aghasted at the sight. The wyvern was covered in blood, all its own, and had been ripped apart by something clearly much larger. What's more, hardly anything seemed to be completely missing. The pieces, while separate, were present. It wasn't killed for food. It was killed for sport.

Zurui sighed his relief and flung a kunai into the beast's neck. They could chalk it up to some summon they didn't have or Akihiro using his Sharingan to manipulate a bigger monster into killing it. Whatever the case, they were gonna count this as a success and not give a second thought as to what killed it. Mission accomplished, game over, that's it, nothing more, Zurui Out.

Akihiro couldn't help but be surprised at how quickly they managed to kill the beast. Surely enough they didn't do most of the job but... they were the ones who technically gave it the killing blow and that counted as a victory in his book, they would certainly be paid for making sure the beast was killed. What worried Akihiro though wasn't whether or not they would get their money...what worried him was that something other than them killed the beast. Judging by the marks and scars on its body, it must have been one huge creature the one who mortally wounded the wyvern.

He didn't have time to discuss it with Zurui it seemed. He was a busy man and vanished immediately without even saying goodbye, how rude! What he could he possible be planning? Akihiro shrugged. Whatever it was, it couldn't possibly be worse than many of their joint adventures in the world of shinobi. Perhaps he was planning to do something dangerous but whatever it was, he didn't tell Akihiro. The Uchiha could think of one thing Zurui really wanted to do...but could that be it? Nah, probably not. They weren't even aware of other users.
