[Mission] Grounds Keeper Empty [Mission] Grounds Keeper

Post by Aries on Thu Oct 11, 2018 4:30 pm

Fujio sit outside the academy as he waited for the teacher chuunin to arrive in order to inform him of his duties to be carried out today.  It was not that he did not already know what lay in store as the mission was quite frank and blunt in detail upon request.  Simple of a mission as it may be the genin’s heart raced inside his chest and inner nerves seemed to be creating butterflies deep within the pit of his stomach.  After all this was his first guardian mission.

The chuunin advisor approached the front of the academy as Fujio quickly stood erect and firm.  He did not allow his back to arch in the least as he tried to present himself as serious as possible.  First impressions were always something to be upheld with the highest regard… or at least he thought so.  Drawing in closer the chuunin spoke in a rather dull and tired tone, “I’m sure you know what your job is.” Fujio quickly nodded to single he had been briefed, “So I don’t feel the need to give some sort of lecture. I have to do enough of that in one day as it is. Just keep the place in shape that’s all. It’s a simple task even a civilian could do so a ninja should have no issues….” The chuunin then brushed by Fujio as he made his way up the steps towards the academy front entrance stopping briefly to mutter some last words,”… and relax some. Jeez this isn’t some grand amazing life changing job.” Before, shaking his head and sighing as he entered the building.

Fujio simply smiled in reply to all the words he was told leading to him giving the adviser a thumbs up in response to his last words. “I’ll undoubtedly try my best sir.” Even if the mission was not of great importance to the functioning of the village as a whole it held a special place in the boy’s heart.  This was his first actual job as a Shinobi. The time had finally come for him to show his worth among the village. At long last he would be able to play a role in the scheme of life as a Shinobi of Kumogakure.

His dreams were turning to reality, and fate was guiding him towards future paths.  Starting small was no discomfort to him. Instead the boy took pride in the job to come. His first guard mission was underway.  Time to work hard and prove that Fujio Abriu was not just some outsider, mountain side, farm boy, but was worth his weight in gold at contributing to his village this is where his legacy would start on these very grounds, this very day.

[Mission] Grounds Keeper Empty Re: [Mission] Grounds Keeper

Dragging on like maple syrup being poured from an undersized spout to a jar the day slowly passed on. What seemed to be an eternity of sun rays and soft breezes was merely nothing more than a few hours of morning. Fujio would allow a harsh sigh to escape his lips. The slow job made even a joyful enthusiast such as himself rather bored and gloomy. So far the only thing he had to look forward to was one single piece of candy wrapper that he had played chase with for a total grand time of around thirty seconds. Of course the trash particle had demonstrated a rather delightful scenery as it danced in the wind like an elegant ball room dancer drifting among the crowd of small grass petals.

The dirt grinding below his weight as he drug his feet across the ground acting lazy finding little to nothing else to do. Hands in pockets, shoulders slumped, and chin dragging he sighed once more exhaling an overexerted outtake of air that turned almost into a roar of sorts. Why had it turned out this way? He was for sure that his first mission would be more than this. Where was the suspense, where was the action, hell where was the simple chores to be done at? All these thoughts passed through his mind as he wondered around the walls of the Academy in search of something that needed to be tended to. Unexpectedly, Fujio did not think that these answers would be answered with a nice thump to his noggin. The right hand that had been tucked away safely in the pocket of his jeans quickly withdrew from its shelter to apply a warm touch to his head as if to grant some sort of comfort. Blurry as they were his eyes started to fixate upon an object that lay just a few inches before his toes.

Closing into focus the object became clear. A paint can lay before him and by the throbbing on his head it seemed that the thing was half empty or full, which ever look one may take upon it. Noting the weapon used he then jarred his head upwards while darting his eyes around in search for the culprit behind the crime. Fleeing the scene in what seemed to be a dash of shadows, black lightening perhaps, would be three giggling voices that escaped into a nearby open window. Looking up at a painting of a giant set of ummm… breast? The boy was not set into awe or angered by the blow to the head. Instead Fujio had a rather large smile on his face. Finally, the time had come and this crude violation had granted him a slight break in the happening of nothingness.

Frantically Fujio sprinted off towards the shed of the ground keeper. The doors to the cell of a storage facility flung upon dramatically almost to the point their hinges gave way. Diving into the mess of a disorganized arrangement of tools, nick-knacks, and just plain junk the boy searched for a bucket and scrub brush. After a few passing minutes the necessary cleaning accessories were located at the bottom of a pile in the far left corner of the one room shack of course. Pail and brush in had Fujio quickly sprinted off towards the water supply where he would fill the container to the rim. Soap would have been ideal but it was an agent he lacked at the moment. Oh well, there were no easy trials on the road of a ninja. Elbow grease would do just fine… plus it was sure to grant his arms a proper workout.

Scaling the walls of the Academy Fujio swiftly climbed like an ape after the last banana in the tree. By the time he had made it to the ledge that hosted crude drawing half the water in the pail had found its way from the vessel to his attire. The drenched genin shuffled a few more meters to the left closing in on the makeshift chest baskets. A steady exhalation escaped his mouth as he grinned upon the sight of the wall before him.

After dipping the brush into the water it was jerked from the bucket and smacked into the wall before the boy causing water to be sent flying outwards in a big splat. Roughly Fujio started to scrub in little circle motions frantically working on the task laid before him. This was not a job that should take too much effort or time to complete after all the drawing was fresh and only traversed over an area of about three feet. The boy grinned and giggled as he cleaned away with the morning sun beaming down upon him.

Located between the feet of Fujio laid a puddle that grew with every droplet that was added to it not a puddle of water but yet precipitation from the skin of the boy. Sweat dispensed from his pores as if they were leaking fire hydrants that had been tempered with by the block kids to beat the summer heat. However, Fujio was not beating any form of heat at all. The genin was instead growing more and more exhausted by the passing second. What in God’s great name had those kids used to spray their creation with? Well whatever it was they had damn sure got their money’s worth. Fujio had been here for hours now trying to peel the foreign paste from the bricks. His stomach was starting to growl and his arm felt like it had died long ago. The boy had never been one to really complain but even he had his limits. Perhaps, the day’s job had been more tedious then he thought.
